Re: Reaction: Sony Has Quietly But Confidently Grown Its First-Party Lineup

Sony delivers what Microsoft is promising. They make their games run great on their video game platform. It is a smart move, the development of the so called "system sellers". Smart, but not new. It is what saved Netflix, the development of their own series. Sony is in a good position because now they have a lot of teams working to extract the best of their system. But then again, Microsoft also do. What is lacking for Sony is their own fantasy western RPG game, which is why I think this is a perfect fit for the next Bluepoint game.

Re: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Dated for 18th March

Seriously, what can we do to make them realize that those graphics won't cut it. Character models looks okay.. but the levels in the trailer are painful to watch. There is a moment (at 02:14) that a bush model appears and disappears, that is unacceptable in a game running on a PS5. There is a fog effect that makes everything look faded (pause the trailer at 01:29 and take a look). This is aggravated when combined with the blur effect applied on the characters. Compare it with the visuals in FF VII Remake where everything looks crispy clean. I don't know if this fog effect is something plot related, but if it is it actually makes it more important for it to look good, not less. One last note, that colored outline on the characters models, I am not a fan (but that is just my personal opinion).
Sorry if anyone got annoyed at me for hammering down on this aspect of the game, but I think this game can be important for the PS5. Which is why I will again, as I said multiple times before, that Sony will help PS5 a lot by sending a team to help the developers make this Final Fantasy game look great on the PS5.

Re: Aliens: Fireteam Elite (PS5) - Competent Co-Op That Entertains But Is At Odds with Itself

It is a legit take on a multiplayer game for the Alien franchise. And, given its nature as a online game, the issues pointed up by the reviewer may be addressed in the future.

I wonder if there could be space for a Predator in this game.. Maybe a extra player could spawn randomly in raids as a predator and chooses to either kill the aliens or the marines.. That could give the chills the reviewer is looking for, since players would never know if or where a predator would show up.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.3 Adds Free DLC, Very Long List of Updates, Fixes

One thing that CDPR could do for Cyberpunk 2077 that will greatly improve the future of the game is to create a third person perspective mode.

It could be like an "out of combat" mode, where the player could just walk around in 3rd person with a limited choices of action. When the shooting action starts it would quickly go back to first person (fps) perspective. If they were able to also let the player do fights (brawling) in 3rd person it would be even greater, but I think that is already pushing to far for this game. This 3rd person mode could also allow the player char to do poses (emotes) and etc. selected by the player. It would also let the player interact with furniture, like sitting on a chair/sofa and having a drink/meal etc. in 3rd person.

This would be such a dramatic evolution to Cyberpunk 2077 that CDPR could very well create a whole expansion for the game based on these new functionalities. Maybe with a new storyline, side quests and new mini-games involving the fashion modeling business in Night City, TV/social media celebrity lifestyle, baindances (just some themes that came to mind...)

Re: This Portable PS2 Is the Handheld of Our Dreams

With the launch of Steam Deck, Sony is now likely bound to become only a publisher for handheld gaming console. It is a pity, because, with the technology created for the haptics of the Dualsense controller, they could be able to create the ultimate kickass handheld gaming device.

Re: Sony Is Absolutely Flying Financially Right Now

The way I see it, the report demonstrates the importance of Sony Interactive Entertainment having as CEO someone with a very strong understanding of the gaming and entertainment industry and its actors: game developers, manufacturers and logistics, local markets from different regions of the planet, and yes, the consumers i.e. the players.

Re: Interview: Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut - Sucker Punch Talks PS5 Features, Iki Island Expansion, and Japanese Praise

vict0RGM

Wow, incredible article. Big score for PushSquare. Congratulations!

I am saving my New Game+ and platinum run for Gost of Tsushima to start together with the Iki Island expansion. I think I set my self up for a good time.

Right now I am having a lot of fun playing Legends stories and survival games. I'm just baffled by the amount of new and interesting gameplay mechanics and enemies that Sucker Punch was able to create for GoT. One could "easily" create with them a whole new game that would make most of current triple A games do a run for their money.

Re: Yes, You Get to Run a Farm in Tales of Arise

Bandai is running a poll on YouTube asking which side activity we are most looking forward (which made me watch the trailer to answer). Farming was definitely the one the most called my attention. Unfortunately it is in the last position in the poll, Camping being the first.

Yesterday I completed and submitted a hole online questionary from Sega asking for feedback about Virtua Fighter 5. Congratulations to these japanese companies that are looking for feedback from players. I hope they use the answers to make their games even better.

By the way, does anyone know if there will a permanent character death in Tales of Arise like there is in Fire Emblem? That would give the game a important new depth of gameplay.

Re: Former Sony Boss Fearful of Industry Consolidation

vict0RGM

PlayStation is doing a bad job at fostering it's community of developers and players.

Skipping E3 was a mistake. Sony behaved like a kid that is graduating from school and chooses not to go to the prom night because he have a nice and big house and cooler friends then the kids at school. So he chooses to skip it and have his own party at his house later on.. and end up not even making that party. It doesn't matter if the prom night was lame. You don't do that. You should be where things are happening.

Re: Reaction: It's Time to Accept We Can't Predict PlayStation Anymore

vict0RGM

I think that what annoys me about Sony is the lack of follow ups. Like.. Sony bought Crunchyroll, so what now? Sony acquired the EVO virtual fighting tournament, so what now? Sony registered the name Playstation Experience, so what now?

It is like a rock that fell into the lake and caused no ripple effect. Maybe it is a collateral effect of trying to be mysterious. Maybe PlayStation fans are longing for a "when it rains it pours" moment we experienced last year during the PlayStation 5 announcement.
