Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for January 2022?

vict0RGM

Looking forward to try out Deep Rock Galactic. Good games for the month. I see a lot o people having the same problem (as do I) of a very large backlog of games in their library. Maybe it is a sign that PS Plus should become something more than just a selection of free games every month, and become a more alive and interactive gaming service. Like a club or something.. with new things added as the month goes. For example the community challenges that award players with new profile images and themes. Just some random thoughts..

Re: Game of the Year: #6 - Hades

Hades' legacy will be the high bar it settled for the level of narrative design in quality roguelike games. It should serve as a reference for future games.

Re: This Is Why We Don't Write About the Japanese Sales Charts Very Often

vict0RGM

It will be interesting to see how the Steam Deck will perform in Japan. It will help the industry understand if the success of Nintendo/Switch games there are solely because of the preference for the mobility that they allow, or because of the specific experiences created by Nintendo.

If the Steam Deck performs good in Japan, it could be another gateway for Sony to sell their titles there. By the way, did Sony said anything regarding how/if the PS Plus and PS Now will work on the Steam Deck?

PS.: I know the Steam Deck won't probably make a dent on Nintendo dominance in Japan, I just said it will be interesting to see how it performs.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Version Aiming for Q1 2022 Release, Major Update Planned

vict0RGM

@Andywax I am glad that you had a good experience, but I will have to disagree. Yes, it had game breaking issues at launch on PS4, and sometimes I was praying for a no 'console breaking' issue.

Uninstalled and shelved it to a future day. And said that I will only reinstall it when the game is at its optimum state, but I guess at this point this is like seeking the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I hope that this promessed upcoming "major update" will motivate me to reinstall the game and give it another go.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Thankful for in Gaming?

vict0RGM

Thank you Eidos-Montréal for restoring my faith in Marvel's games with Guardians of the Galaxy. What a awesome game! It was, hands down, my best gaming experience from 2021. If you haven't played yet, it is on a black friday sale on PS Store, can't miss it.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Skyrim Anniversary Edition?

vict0RGM

I think I will wait to buy the expansion in a good sale at another time. The cranky and aged character rigging animation and the combat gameplay in Skyrim makes it hard for me to go back to it.

I prefer games with a more immersive combat experience like the souls-like games. I believe this is future and Bethesda should study it closely for TES6.

Re: Best PS4 Superhero Games

vict0RGM

Marvel's Spider-Man as a superhero game is the equivalent of the first Iron Man for superhero movies. It opens a universe of possibilities.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Patch 2.12 Will Rebalance Legends Multiplayer Mode

vict0RGM

I find Legends excellent and I still open it often to complete the nightmare survival challenges of the week. I really hope Sucker Punch greatly expand the Legends concept and the multiplayer parts of the game on the sequel for Ghost of Tsushima. I think the story part of Legends weak though, it needs more characters, a more engaging and better developed storyline and more boss fights.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 400

vict0RGM

I usually don't participate in WAYPs in the comments, but since this time is such a special occasion I think I must.

I am playing The Outer Worlds. Bought on a PS Store sale to have something to play until Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy launches, now I am taking a time a finish it before starting GotG.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 PS5 Versions Delayed into 2022

vict0RGM

Makes sense to release the version of Cyberpunk 2077 for current gen consoles only after the game is actually done. But, as I said before, I can't imagine anymore what is a "Cyberpunk 277 done". I watch and rewatch the old trailers to try to remember what we were expecting from that game and I just can't remember. Disenchantment, I guess. Maybe an excellent expansion can turn the tides in the game's favor, but it will take a lot of ba.., courage, from CDPR to start hyping us again for anything Cyberpunk 2077 related. It is what they will have to do, though.

Re: First Mainline Splinter Cell in Eight Years Allegedly Enters Production

vict0RGM

I would go for a Splinter Cell game where you infiltrate the hostile country and start living a double life. You would have a civil life as a cover where you can talk to people to collect information and plan your missions. And then you suit up your stealth gear to complete the missions. Both play styles happening in the same game map. A game that let you feel like a... spy, you know? Crazy, right?

Re: Sony Pictures Offloads Game Studio for $1 Billion

vict0RGM

This reminded me of an old article from Push Square — "Sony Patented an eSports Betting System for PS5, PS4". I wonder if there are any correlation. Looks like Sony had a lot of tools to become a betting power house and chose not to take that path. I think it is for the best, so I salute Sony for that.

Re: Far Cry 6 (PS5) - The Best Game in the Series, Sort Of

vict0RGM

I will pass this Far Cry, but it is a little bit unfair to complain about the "formula" used by Ubisoft, as this is an issue that we can find in most modern open world games. I hope Horizon Forbidden West brings new ideas to the open world experience. It is a genre that have stagnated since its golden age with Skyrim and The Witcher 3. I believe this is what explain the success of the intricate world design used by FromSoftware in their games.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Far Cry 6?

vict0RGM

Funny thing. Ubisoft used their same old formula for open world game and invested a lot in the villain for Far Cry 6, famous actor and all. But even in this aspect it is lacking. If you compare him to villains like Mr. X from Resident Evil 2 and Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village, these are all far superior and iconic villains.
