@HappyGamerGirl one of my favorite gaming memories ever is heading to the Imperial City Market District at night in Oblivion, and breaking into and robbing every store I could before the sun came up. Those were great times.

Admittedly I've been a pretty vocal critic of the first game. I felt hustled paying full price at release for a game that, IMO, was not worth a AAA price and not ready for release period. Once it was stable and I was able to play it, I was bored to death. I felt their commitment to real-life came at the expense of fun, and going into the sequel I was certain I would never give it a chance.

But reading how everyone is loving it so much, I'm actually thinking about GameFlying it now. Or if anyone I know still uses discs I'll try to borrow it. I'm super apprehensive about giving these guys more of my cash though after my experience with the first game.

Is there anybody out there who is giving this a 9 or a 10 that HATED the first game? The more people there are in that camp, the more confident I would be honestly. Cause hate is a strong word...and I hated the first game.

The amount of filter gymnastics I have to pull to to get out the garbage is unreal. Hopefully this makes it easier. There's a guy out there making games called "I'm in love with your dead grandma" or something like that and every time I see those games I want to punch that guy in the face.

The only thing I would change if my finances suddenly improved greatly is that I would move out of the United States until at least 2029 or maybe for good depending on who would have me.

I played HL at launch and finished the main storyline but didn't have the desire to finish up any side content, and was honestly kind of disappointed with it overall, considering my expectations. After over a year of not coming back to it once, I started fresh and LOVED IT. Ended up doing 100% everything and got the plat. Not sure why it didn't take the first time.

@nomither6 to be fair, the top games in the world (your words) are at the top because they're free to play, not because they're live service. People want free s**t, simple as that. It doesn't also mean they want live service garbage.

Anyone who's not familiar with the development hell that was DAV, go read up on what actually happened and you'll begin to understand why it failed.

I think they had unfair and unrealistic expectations. I think it's a pretty good game and really enjoyed the hours I spent playing it.

The lack of PS4 is an obvious move to get people who haven't upgraded to PS5 to do so. If the game can run on 2015 mobile tech (Switch) something tells me they could have gotten it up and running on PS4 had they wanted to...

Also, yay no GP. That was annoying, though I understand why they did it for a few years.

I still feel hustled by buying the first game at full price only to find out it was a basically a boredom simulator, but for those of you who enjoyed the first game, I hope the second is another heaping helping of whatever you found enjoyable about the first one.

That's the nicest possible thing I can say about this franchise.

In my opinion the only way forward for Xbox, as far as hardware is concerned, is for them to make the next Xbox basically a PC. Like you can install Windows on it if you want, that sort of thing.

Starfield was a turd, Bethesda and BioWare are gonna be in side-by-side graves by the end of the decade. I will take Avowed, Flight Simulator, and that Oblivion remake that sounds really promising though please. Nothing else on Xbox really interests me or else I would have kept my Series console...

@Nyne11Tyme that happened twice actually, development started as a single player game and then in 2018 or so EA said scrap it, start over and make it live service. Then later, after the success of Fallen Order I believe, they scrapped it again and this time said make it single player...

This is what happens when the #1 priority of your game is not to offend ANYBODY. The companions are bland, they're all white knights and I don't care a lick about any of them. A little variety would have been nice...

What made Origins, and even DA2, memorable experiences for me were the companions. Morrigan, Leliana, Isabela, Anders and Oghren were memorable characters who stood out, made you care what happened to them. The Veilguard companions, for lack of a better term, suck. They're all as inoffensive as possible and I don't care a lick about any of them. There's nothing wrong with having idealogy in games, but this one feels like it's REALLY pushing an agenda, and it takes away from the experience for me. Even though it's an agenda that I for the most part agree with.

The next DA game (if there is one) better be a massive shift back to the style of Origins or else I'll probably be done with the series. Each game, in my opinion, has been just a little bit worse than it's predecessor.

If Sony is going to charge $700 for an "enthusiast" console (with less features than the original) then I can imagine they would charge $1500 for a PS6 that includes a handheld that can play the entire library. Probably closer to $2000 honestly.

Just wanted to say it's been 15 months since I downgraded from Extra to Essential, and NOT ONCE has a game come or gone that even made me consider going back up to Extra.

I know it's a hot take, but I thought Shadow of the Erdtree was trash, and I loved Elden Ring so much that I platinumed both the PS5 & PS4 versions within 3 months of release. I freaking loved me some Elden Ring. But the DLC I found boring, felt like I was forcing myself to play it, and gave up after a dozen hours or so.

I want more RPG's that aren't Soulslike or trying to ape Persona. More stuff like Rayman Legends and Prince of Persia TLC. Perhaps a high-quality GTA alternative (not Saints Row). Native PS5 versions of the first 2 Dragon Age games, TES IV Oblivion and both Fallout games from the PS3 era. That's what I want.

I'm genuinely surprised that the headline of this wasn't "Australia's Planned Social Media Ban Even Better On PS5 PRO!" considering this site's output lately.

I've said it many times, and I'll say it again, I'll never pay $700 for a "premium" console that requires me to buy additional (and out of stock) peripherals just to have all the features that my old, base-level console had. It's left such a bad taste in my mouth that I haven't touched my PS5 in over 2 months and just been playing PC.

If it was $700 with a drive and a stand, there would be one in my living room right now.

I'm dead serious about to stop coming to this site because they're blowing the PS5 Pro so hard

It's so weird to me that there are people WHO HAVE NOT PLAYED THE GAME YET who are still crapping on it and saying they hope it fails...like are you serious? That's pathetic.

Is it really necessary to have a separate article for EACH game that will be "PS5 Pro Enhanced"?! And not trying to be overly critical, your "article" is 3 short paragraphs just repeating information already stated elsewhere.

Every time I see "PS5 Pro Enhanced" or whatever, I remember the box of my "old & inferior" PS5 said 8K on it...

@Ceridane yeah I remember grinding for literal months to get that last trophy for platinum, that would be my only criticism about Legends, otherwise fantastic game.

The "Pro" console is supposed to be premium, right? Top of the line? So it should include everything INCLUDED WITH THE BASE MODEL AT LEAST. So yeah, PS5 Pro without a disc drive is a f'n downgrade from my base PS5, and I don't care that the Pro will give me 2 extra TFlops and will tell me I'm pretty. I'm not buying a downgrade (in my eyes) for a premium price. Ever.

Edit: I own zero PS4 or PS5 games on disc. It's not about that for me. It's about Sony thinking we're stupid.

So it's a cash grab because their stupid hero-shooter live service game failed. Not because they had great ideas for Hogwarts Legacy, but because they needed to make back their money. Yeah, I'll pass.

PS5 is still unchallenged in the regions Xbox is staying put. But in all seriousness, I've been predicting this exact thing for some time now. There is not going to be a successor to the Series consoles.

Less competition is not a good thing. Somebody (Sega come on, make the comeback everyone wants) needs to step into the ring with Sony and Nintendo.

It already feels like there are a dozen versions of Persona floating around out there, honestly I'm not really excited for basically another version of a Persona game with a different skin.

It's not a bad selection, but I can't imagine anyone who doesn't already have Extra or Premium seeing anything that would make them subscribe. I quit Extra 13 months ago and in that time nothing has come or gone that made me consider going back up.

I don't know, forcing me to find a disc drive (and a stand) for my new "upgraded" console, while my "old and inferior" console came with both kinda feels like being nickeled and dimed, and I don't like it. The Pro is supposed to be a premium console, right? Well a premium console should come fully loaded, not barebones and good luck hunting down the accessories.

Oblivion, 2 Fallouts, Dragon Age Origins, GTA IV off the top of my head, all just wasting away on the PS3, none are playable on PS4/5 other than cloud streaming, which is yeah no thanks. For some reason though it seems like they want to remake things from the middle of the PS4 gen, like come on guys 2017 wasn't even that long ago...

I wouldn't touch this with a 10ft pole, and I platinumed the PS4 version years ago. But after playing some of the Dark Pictures games (which were trash) there is no way I'm giving anyone anymore money for these games, especially a graphical upgrade / FPS downgrade, and not for a 6/10 game. Did this even need a remake/remaster or whatever it is technically? Who is greenlighting this crap?

I just want a new Rayman platformer, I can't be the only one.

Perhaps the day will never come, but I'm waiting for a Pro with a disc drive. I refuse to play the scalping game trying to hunt one down now, and I'm not buying a PS console without one. Your move, Sony.

It's insanely frustrating that this turd is getting a sequel, considering the game itself is a reboot of the original turd they crapped out in 2014...we don't need a third one.

You don't need a private investigator to figure this one out, it obviously has to do with the fact that PlayStation outsells Xbox 3:1 and they want to maximize potential revenue. Not to mention the lack of GP means that people are actually buying games on the PS side as well.

I hope every scalper gets bunions, like really bad ones that you need surgery to correct. I'm going to speak it into existence. Enjoy your shoes never fitting right scalpers!

@get2sammyb You're got a brilliant idea there friend. Some combination of time played, trophies as well as a certain amount of PREVIOUS PURCHASES (games, DLC, etc) would pretty much solve the problem.

Yeah, not going to "settle down" over you trying to brute force subliminal marketing content on my console to shove down my throat in the comfort of my own home.
