Rumoured Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas Remasters Not Expected to Be Out Any Time Soon

Don't worry everyone. I'm sure that they're using all that development time to ensure that there's as many bugs as possible at launch.

Bethesda dangling carrots in front of us, but I think we're too busy playing and anticipating the current crop of games to give a monkey's nipple about what they're doing. Rumours shouldn't be entertained because they're not factual.

I mean, the point of a shadow drop is that you don't see it coming.

Is oblivion remastered patched and fixed yet? Maybe fix the games you got out already before you start thinking about shadow dropping any more broken messes.

If they're another one of these UE5/Creation Engine amalgamation remakes, I'm not interested.

Fallout new vegas is one of my all time favorites, but I have plenty of other games to play until it comes out. I’ll be patient.

I love fallout games, but I'm not really feeling the need to replay the older ones. I just want 5. I personally wouldn't care too much if it hasn't advanced much gameplay wise as long as the setting and story is new.

I just want a pretty reminder of when the series was one of my favorites. It's so far gone after 4 and 76, I doubt 5 will do it for me either.

What is the countdown timer for?

I know it won't happen, but I want Fallout: Hong Kong, and it tells the story of China after the war. They could incorporate British influence in the region into the story as well.

Anyone with any business sense should have anticipated this. It’s the timeworn strategy of releasing a smash hit tv show, then waiting until after it’s off-air and consumer interest has fizzled before releasing tie-in material. They can’t lose!

In the Meantime watch them Shadow drop some other remake out of nowhere.

I guess my question is this - what exactly is Bethesda doing these days? I understand that Todd is angry because Microsoft now owns him, but you still have games to make. You can't not make games forever.

I love Fallout 3 & New Vegas, but as they'll likely have even more glitches than the originals without fixing old ones, I can wait for a decent sale.

After the mediocre Oblivion remaster, I don't expect much from this.

@StitchJones The game is done. There haven't been patches in ages.
It's totally playable though. I spent my 100 hours with it and had a great time.
The shivering isles dlc makes the playthrough worthwhile on it's own. That's probably the best dlc bethesda has ever done. Very original and memorable.
Yeah, performance is spotty here and there, but it's always been with Bethesda games.

@Balaam_ it's not surprising only because it's Bethesda. I've been predicting the same as you said. They'll strike right when the iron is dead cold.

I keep thinking about going back and replaying New Vegas, but rumors of a remaster have stopped me so far. You'd think they'd capitalize on the popularity of the TV show - which is currently taking place in New Vegas 🤔

While I'm here & in a mood, where the f is Fallout 5? Elder Scolls 6? Wtf is going on in this industry lately? Oh geez we made super successful, multi million selling games. We better make awful multiplayer spinoffs then sit on it & rotate for a decade. Wtf?

It’s kinda shocking that we haven’t had this a long longtime ago! Let’s be honest those two fallout games are the only really good 3d games from the series’s and most people have never played them.

I have an ancient pc that my wife uses as her art station that plays skyrim,fallout 3 and new Vegas flawlessly with the kind of mods that improve everything about the games in a way that should make Bethesda embarrassed about the constant shoddy cash grabs they put out. If bedroom coders can produce the often stunning enhancements to these games for FREE then why can't Bethesda? I won't bother with these and if I really wanted to revisit them I'd fire up the dinosaur sleeping in the spare room.

Series is the best adaptation but they still don't do anything about it. They must hate money

Whenever it comes out it will be a broken mess and any game using Unreal Engine 5 is nothing but a stutter fest especially on PC if you don't have more than 8GB VRAM.

I own the original and can't be bothered with the mods to make it work, so I was thinking of getting the original off the store if I can

My YouTube and Facebook-feed has been serving me awful-looking AI-powered slop hyping the imminent return of these games as Oblivion-style remasters lately.

As far as I can tell from the actual articles on sites like this, they're most likely planned, but there is very little substantial info about progress or release dates.

I'd be very happy to see these games getting remasters, but too many people on the internet act like if they want something enough, then surely that feeling has to be an indication that something is coming. Such a waste of energy.

Still regret buying the Oblivion remaster when it released, so not going to make the same mistake again with these.

@Frmknst That's not true in the slightest. When Oblivion was first released, its graphics were considered cutting-edge at the time, and it was one of the technical showpieces for the Xbox 360. Modern Bethesda games may not be lookers, sure, but let's not pretend as if early Bethesda games were bad-looking for their time.

Please do a proper REMAKE of New Vegas. It deserves it. Not just a remaster.

It's crazy that neither of these titles are even playable on modern consoles, outside of streaming, which certainly is not an ideal way to play. Bethesda are so out of touch, it's not even funny. They spent a decade indulging themselves, making games that hardly anyone asked for or wanted, and now they can't even capitalize on what would basically be free money generated by the TV show. That's not even touching on how it has been nearly TWO decades between main entries in TES, the series that only made them and is the reason they exist at all. Even a straight-up port of either of the Fallout games would have been enthusiastically received and undoubtedly moved units. I've never seen an American corporation that leaves as much (potential) money on the table as Bethesda does.

Todd likes to keep BGS small so he can micromanage the ***** out of projects and ensure they adhere to his firm standards of mediocrity.

It's a godsend that his role in the show is nominal. It's hellish that MS has no authority to force him to expand and deliver despite the billions they spent on the studio.
