Ella Purnell, star of the Fallout TV series, has touched on the subject of 2026's biggest upcoming game, Grand Theft Auto 6.
In a video interview about the impending Fallout Season 2, Purnell and co-star Kyle MacLachlan are asked whether they'll be playing Rockstar's open world blockbuster.
Purnell says that she'll "give it a go", but explains that she's more interested in "relaxing games" and thinks GTA 6 will be "quite intense".
She then moves on to talk about what she's playing currently, and it's a PS4-exclusive gem that rarely gets a mention.
"I've been playing Concrete Genie, which I'm really enjoying [...] Where I paint, there's a genie, and you draw genies... it's a lovely game. It's a nice way to relax on a Sunday morning."
Concrete Genie was the second and last game developed by Pixelopus. With a stylised look and some imaginative gameplay, it's an adventure all about bringing life to a dreary town with protagonist Ash's creativity.
It didn't set the world on fire when it launched in 2019, but as Purnell says, it's a lovely game and well worth playing. It's been part of PS Plus Extra since 2022.

Iām just oddly not remotely interested in GTA6. I imagine I may be when itās in my actual hands, but it just doesnāt do it for me anymore. Outside of it being a technical marvel, there isnāt anything all that exciting or original about it. Open world games were epic and ānewā at the time, but now? Not so much. Iām much more interested in something fresh and that takes risks, which seemingly is left to the indie market as of late.
And I rather play ni no kuni then PokƩmon or Digimon which I never like. But grand theft auto is the best video games franchises ever.and grand theft auto 6 is going to be a instant classic word up son
If GTA6 isn't 60fps, there will be literally hundreds of games I would rather play...
I probably wonāt even get gta6. But I am curious about it, if only because of the hype itās getting. The only gta Iāve ever finished was 4. The gameplay loop just doesnāt hook me
PSA for anyone wanting to play it, and though it may sound inconceivable for a game made in the past 20 years or so, but there is no option to invert the Y-axis in Concrete Genie. One of the many reasons I test any potential game Iām interested in on a throwaway alt account first.
What if GTA6 is bad, could you imagine?
@Rich33 Surely 60fps can't be that important to you by that logic a bad game using 60fps would be better than say red dead redemption 2 because it's only 30fps?
She has great taste. Shame about Pixelopus, but it sounded like their next project wasn't coming together after 4 years.
It's a bit strange she's being asked about playing GTA and not fallout??

It is - I literally cannot play games that aren't 60fps (or that dip too often / too hard). I wouldn't play a 'bad' game either, but I could play and enjoy a mediocre game at 60fps.
I can't believe that they are incapable of designing/achieving 60fps in 2026/7 (whenever it launches)
@Chip-Douglas I cant ever go back to align any game at 30 fps not in 2025 30fps should be extinct and if gta6 is 30fps ill wait till its available on ps6
Considering prior to Fallout she didn't play video games i'm not shocked she's more into something more relaxing.
@Chip-Douglas The Fallout question was asked last season. She tried it for research but found it hard.
@Rich33 Cool dude no worries and they definitely could if the dropped resolution ray tracing and a couple other settings everything to could run 60fps no problem imo but then again I'm not the most tech savvy person ha

I'm surprised a busy actress like her played very niche game like Concrete Genie. But i wonder if her statement could give a little sales boost for the game...

They might have excessive usage on the CPU, but its not like they were originally making this for PS6 and could easily have designed around the PS5 CPU.
@Chip-Douglas because there's not going to be a proper, single-player Fallout game for another 10-15 years is why they're not asking her about playing Fallout.

I've recently been in a similar state of mind, just want to enjoy games I can chill with or engage in a different way. Been playing Sword of the Sea recently and having a blast exploring and doing tricks at my own pace.

1) Is this game even launching on PC? (And I don't mean eventually, because eventually PS6 will be out and play it >60fps).
2) A number of dev teams have shown it is perfectly possible to target 80fps+ in AAA games on PS5 CPU's, they just have to design the game suitably.
