@NEStalgia you're absolutely right, if indeed Microsoft/Xbox gets out of the console biz, it won't be overnight. I meant it more from a standpoint of is it a financially wise decision to spend resources porting to a platform with a much smaller user base, where potentially (likely?) the sales might not even justify you bothering to do so in the first place.

How many people actually use Game Trials? The (what felt like) years I was subbed to Premium I never used any of them, something about the specified time limit I find off putting. If they just said "demo" I wouldn't care but I see "2 hours" and I think why bother lol

Back in September, I downgraded from Premium to Essential. In the 8 months since, here's the stats:

Number of games on Extra or Premium that I wanted to play and hadn't already = 0

Number of times I regretted going down to Essential = 0

So yeah, it's Essential for me from here on out.

@edgar14 I'm thinking they're about to announce the "Horizon Zero Dawn Actually Complete PS5 Mega Edition" so naturally they'll pull the PS4 version to boost sales/engagement with the inevitable "new version."

They're most likely talking about PC and Nintendo, since Xbox isn't going to be a platform after this gen anyway.

I think it's a good strategy. PC gaming and PlayStation, in my opinion, aren't really head-to-head competitors. There's no sound argument for keeping their games off the PC platform, especially if they're released 6-12 months later than their PS5 counterparts. Everybody wins.

We all know the answer is they are going to do both, raise GP monthly cost while also not making Call of Duty available at release.

@nomither6 Launching a year late at a price point at least $100 more than the 360 would be a good place to start.

@themightyant Same here, I bought Hi-Fi Rush on PS5 after trying it on GP, and truthfully had I not been able to test it out, I doubt I would have bought it, despite the glowing reviews.

Good for them, unfortunately for me I don't enjoy any of their games, but I'm just glad someone is out here doing well honestly.

It's not like this is anything new for them, anybody paying attention or old enough to remember knows Microsoft has always behaved like this.

Why exactly does Arrowhead not deserve to bear the brunt of this? Wasn't it their failure to notify the player base from the jump about the PSN requirement that caused this whole mess in the first place?

One of the better months I've seen in the last year or so. FIFA (or whatever the hell they call it now) is always good for some casual fun, and Tunic was an absolute gem and worth playing at full price, let alone for free.

Great. Now how about doing something about the 10+ year wait between mainline entries.

The problem with Starfield was that it lacked the most important element of what made Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim so special...that feeling of being able to go off in any direction and find hours worth of adventures completely independent of the main quest.

It also didn't help developing projects like Fallout 76 and Starfield back-to-back. Neither of those projects generate the excitement (or sales) that single-player TES or Fallout games do, so having those games end up as stinkers makes the wait seem longer than it should be.

I've been saying for years that they would figure this out eventually lol. They're all great games and I'm about to pick up HiFi Rush and Pentiment on sale to boot. The only one I'm not excited about is Sea of Thieves cause I only solo mate and from my experience with it on GP that's not much fun

@KilloWertz The PS4 didn't have these issues because it famously wasn't backwards compatible with PS3, so it wasn't possible for it to have these issues. So yeah, obviously you didn't see it on the PS4. In other news, water seems to cure thirst.

The lack of an actual protagonist was the stupidest decision and a big part of Legion's failure. I mean really, how did that get greenlit?

It's got a rating of 3.67 on the PSN store right now, so clearly it's not THAT good. Anything under a 4 is usually a pretty bad sign in my experience.

I thought Frontiers was brilliant, and a fun platinum as well for those who care about that sort of thing.

Apparently Bethesda still hates money, because it's clear as day that a Fallout 3/New Vegas remaster/remake package would sell faster than smack (am I allowed to say that?) not to mention an Oblivion one would sell just as well. But no, Bethesda is probably busying patting themselves on the back for Starfield, a 6/10 game.

I really, REALLY tried to like F76. Fallout 3 and NV are some of my all-time favs, and while 4 doesn't quite get there, I've enjoyed several playthroughs. But F76 wasn't for me and never will be. Even with Fallout 1st and a private server, it will never be want I want it to be...which is an actual, single player Fallout game.

I didn't reply to it, because it wasn't RELEVANT, like most of your comments on here. I appreciate your concern, however I do know what subjective means. Most adults do. Did you learn it yesterday, is that why you're so fixated on that specific word?

I never understood why there weren't more Rayman games like Origins and Legends? Maybe I'm in the minority but I thought they were both fun as hell and great for what they were.

@Yorozayu no, that's not it. It's that PS Plus Extra or Premium doesn't even have ONE game that interests me that I haven't played through or at least tried already somewhere else. I made a list of 6-7 within minutes on Game Pass, and all are available on PS5. PS Plus is mostly full of indie or AA stuff that I'm not interested in and would never play. And I love PlayStation but facts are facts.

I hate to say that objectively Game Pass is an infinitely better value than PS Plus, and it's not really close.

They burned me pretty bad on KCD, paid full price for it and it's been one of the more disappointing experiences I've had in gaming over the years...if their new game gets REALLY good reviews maybe I'll GameFly it but that's probably it

It won't change because most people are irresponsible with money and will always fall for the instant gratification that comes with spending.

I always choose performance mode (or whatever is equivalent) because it doesn't matter how pretty something looks if the stutter of moving around in it gives me a freaking headache...

PSVR2 sold worse than New Coke, there's no way a new Astro Bot game would be VR only. They would improve their cash flow simply by not bothering to develop something like that.

It finally happened to me...I bought Immortals for like $20 a month or so ago lol.

It's a solid 7/10 but if you're a platinum hunter don't waste your time.

I'm playing Banishers now, and it's incredible. I'll check out anything else these guys make just based on how good Banishers is so far.

I think the fact that we're even talking about a potential PS5 Pro just illustrates that Sony isn't really reading the room on this one. I mean there's still a LOT of games releasing on PS4 still so why do we need a mid-gen refresh exactly, when we haven't even fully left last gen behind? I bought the PS4 Pro at launch but I'm sitting this one out.

@NEStalgia For me, the guild questlines and magic in general were far superior in Oblivion, and I also preferred it's deeper RPG elements as opposed to Skyrim doing away with attributes, etc.

Also, the cities in Oblivion felt much more distinct from one another, for example I can still recall Anvil, Cheydinhal, Bruma etc. quite clearly but not so much with the cities in Skyrim. I preferred Cyrodiil as a setting as well, much more vibrant and colorful.
