Fallout 3 Fallout New Vegas Fallout 5 Rumour

At this point we all know that some kind of Fallout 3 remake or remaster — probably in a similar vein to Oblivion Remastered — is on the cards, but now the word on the street is that Fallout New Vegas will also be revived.

Obviously this doesn't come as a huge surprise given just how popular Fallout is as a multimedia property right now. The Fallout TV show's second season seems to have drummed up an immense amount of fresh interest in the franchise, with Fallout 4 and its predecessors racking up huge player counts over the last few weeks.

What's more, Bethesda's seen some serious commercial success with the aforementioned Oblivion Remastered. It only makes sense to revisit the other beloved RPGs in its catalogue — with Virtuos' help, we imagine.

According to fresh reporting from Windows Central, who are clearly very in-the-know when it comes to all things Microsoft and Xbox, the Fallout 3 "remake" is coming "eventually" — and again, it'll be joined by New Vegas.

It's unclear whether both of the projects are currently in active development, or whether it's just Fallout 3 right now. Either way, we'd bet on hearing a lot more about these Fallout remakes over the coming months.

And then there's the inevitable Fallout 5, which has apparently been "greenlit". That one's probably a long way off, considering Bethesda's priorities lie with The Elder Scrolls 6.

So, it sounds like we're getting a lot of Fallout in the relatively near future. It's crazy to think that Fallout 4 released all the way back in 2015, but that's modern Bethesda for you.
