There's been a bit of speculation that Starfield's inevitable PS5 version will finally be announced at this week's State of Play, but that is, apparently, not the plan.
Instead, the latest rumour is that there's some kind of reveal set for next month. This is according to known insider shinobi602, who doesn't usually speak up unless he's got something on good authority.
This perhaps gives weight to the recent report that stated Starfield will launch for PS5 in early April. Bethesda does, after all, enjoy quick turnarounds from announcement to release.

So what's this reveal going to look like? Well, the developer's got a history of hosting its own game-specific showcases — or the announcement could just be part of some currently unknown Xbox event. It shouldn't be too long until we find out for sure.
It's worth reiterating that whatever this reveal turns out to be, it's going to cover more than the PS5 port.
Starfield's 2.0 update — which is said to include a significant overhaul of some gameplay systems — will almost certainly be the headline act, and a second expansion could also be on the cards, based on previous reports.
The bottom line here is that Bethesda's going to try and push something of a comeback for Starfield, which has never quite managed to live up to the project's initial hype. We're left wondering just how far the studio will go.
