This is the only Xbox game that hasn't come to PS5 yet that I'm interested in. It feels like virtually everything else is making the jump, so hopefully there's a PS5 release in Feb '26.
@MrPeanutbutterz it's wild to me that you consider mp trophies not being included in predominantly single player games a "take." To each their own though I guess.
My two heavy-hitters this year were KCD2 and Expedition 33, however my favorite games this year that most people haven't heard of are Eternal Strands and Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon. Both of those were absolutely brilliant games that are well worth anyone's time.
Would have preferred 3 games I have at least heard of or have some sort of passing interest in. 5 games that I couldn't remotely care about feels the same as zero games that I couldn't remotely care about.
Bethesda is a shadow of what they used to be. Most of the talent that made games like Oblivion and Fallout 3 are LONG gone. Modern day Bethesda is best known for making mediocre games that very few people actually wanted, while leaving gazillions on the table by waiting 2 decades essentially for TES VI and not having a single player Fallout title to coincide with the TV show.
Xbox as a platform is dead. I wouldn't be surprised if some at MS want to kill the name completely and rebrand their upcoming PC-type thing as Microsoft Gaming or something like that.
When I played it at release, I enjoyed it but not as much as Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I actually enjoyed Far Harbor more than any part of the main story, and I will say I find the DLC's to be stronger than 3/NV. But Fallout 4 hasn't aged particularly well, and the way they keep milking it similar to Skyrim isn't helping the situation.
Beth & MS can get (rhymes with "ducked") because that is highway robbery. I already have the game and the DLC, so I'm expected to pay $20 for Creations? My opening statement stands.
I would be happy with a sequel or a remake. Remaster at this point would feel pretty lazy. If there ever is a sequel, let Bethesda handle the trophies, as Obsidian's trophy lists have a level of antagonism, imo, that doesn't always make them fun to complete.
I got my PS5 one year after launch, and I still felt like an early adopter. Granted, 2027 is nearly two years away, but it doesn't even feel like the PS4 gen has fully ended, and we're already talking PS6, it seems kind of ridiculous to me. I'll eventually get one, naturally, but if it releases in '27 I'll probably aim to pick one up in 2029.
Build a Rocket Boy might want to take their own advice and start building rockets, because building video games doesn't seem to be working out very well for them.
I've bought 10 titles at launch (full price) between 2022-2025, and 2 of those (Clair Obscur & Oblivion) were at a lower price point than usual. By comparison, I've bought just under 60 titles during the same period at a discount of some kind, the vast majority of which were no more than $20. If there are multiple new releases I'm interested in, I'll subscribe to GameFly for a couple months instead of purchasing them.
I'd like to see a subscription service where for example you can only play a certain number of games per month, but you get to pick the games, and nothing is off limits. I'd pay $30-40 per month for a service like that. Like digital GameFly basically.
I'm SOOOO glad I sat this one out. I bought a PS4 Pro at launch, and never regretted it. Sure, it sounded like a jet engine taking off sometimes, but it was a significant upgrade over the base PS4.
They're closing a superstore in my area, and all their electronics are like 50% off, and they had a PS5 disc drive when I was there yesterday. I briefly thought about picking it up for the $40 they were selling it for, but then I thought "when would I ever buy a PS5 Pro? If mine breaks, I'll just get another base model with a disc drive" and I walked away.
I don't care about merch. I don't care about limited-edition, collector's only garbage. I want discounts on games. Anything else is frivolous and stupid, imo.
Isn't it the same ***** who thought his game should be $80? That's actually quite the trick, making a game that performs worse the better the hardware is.
I literally started playing the day before the patch released, but I can already tell it's a major improvement. This game is really fun and while it's not quite got the polish or production value of The Witcher 3 or Skyrim, it's certainly a level above the kind of jank that PB (Risen, Elex) pumps out for example.
Stardew Valley is one of the greatest games of it's era. Also one of the most difficult platinum trophies I've ever earned, thanks to that damn twin-stick mini game. Viewfinder and Psychonauts are both rare in the sense that they are Essential titles that I haven't played already AND find interesting enough to check out.
I was convinced I would love the first game, because New Vegas is one of my all-time favs, but I bounced off it pretty hard despite multiple attempts to play through it. They either need to come up with a better alternative to VATS or make melee actually viable for me to pick this one up. I also found that I couldn't have cared less about any of the companions in the first game, so hopefully that's improved as well. Maybe it's the setting too, I don't know...
The reason I don't have an Xbox is because their big franchises like Gears and Halo don't interest me at all. I'm just not into shooters really, not my cup of tea.
Can only speak for American culture, but it's always stunned me how desensitized people are to scenes of graphic, physical violence, but a little bit of sex and omg the world is ending.
Never a good sign. I'm thinking this game is a hot mess, and they know it, and they're already trying to do damage control. I already wasn't really interested until I saw reviews/gameplay but now I'll definitely pass.
For a company that so many gamers claim to hate and not support, they sure do sell a hell of a lot of games. You'll show them...by continuing to buy their products...yeah, that'll teach them...
It's just nice to finally have a JRPG-inspired turn-based game that doesn't have an anime-ish art style to be honest. I've been waiting for a game like Expedition 33 since I first played Lost Odyssey in 2009.
Even if Starfield was better than just an average game, there would still be people who hated it simply because Bethesda took the time to make it, when they could (should?) have been making TESVI or FO5.
@Contimaloris I feel the exact opposite. I found Ghost to be absolutely boring and I couldn't care less about the story, and both times I attempted to play it, I gave up before hitting the 6 hour mark.
I found Shadows to be a much stronger and more enjoyable game than Valhalla was. Valhalla was a bloat fest that by the end felt like a repetitive grind. I really enjoyed all my time with Shadows by comparison.
If I cared that much, I could probably find something already on YouTube that puts the cutscenes and such in chronological order, doing a whole new playthrough just for this kind of seems unnecessary. Hopefully those who do play it again have fun with it though.
