Re: Are Shadow Drops the Future? Bethesda's Betting on Them After Oblivion Remastered Success

tangyzesty

Bethesda is a shadow of what they used to be. Most of the talent that made games like Oblivion and Fallout 3 are LONG gone. Modern day Bethesda is best known for making mediocre games that very few people actually wanted, while leaving gazillions on the table by waiting 2 decades essentially for TES VI and not having a single player Fallout title to coincide with the TV show.

Re: Poll: Is Fallout 4 Underrated, 10 Years Later?

When I played it at release, I enjoyed it but not as much as Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I actually enjoyed Far Harbor more than any part of the main story, and I will say I find the DLC's to be stronger than 3/NV. But Fallout 4 hasn't aged particularly well, and the way they keep milking it similar to Skyrim isn't helping the situation.

Re: People Don't Buy Anywhere Near As Many Games As You Think

I've bought 10 titles at launch (full price) between 2022-2025, and 2 of those (Clair Obscur & Oblivion) were at a lower price point than usual. By comparison, I've bought just under 60 titles during the same period at a discount of some kind, the vast majority of which were no more than $20. If there are multiple new releases I'm interested in, I'll subscribe to GameFly for a couple months instead of purchasing them.

Re: PS5 Pro Users Starting to Feel a Little Shortchanged After Poor or Absent Support

I'm SOOOO glad I sat this one out. I bought a PS4 Pro at launch, and never regretted it. Sure, it sounded like a jet engine taking off sometimes, but it was a significant upgrade over the base PS4.

They're closing a superstore in my area, and all their electronics are like 50% off, and they had a PS5 disc drive when I was there yesterday. I briefly thought about picking it up for the $40 they were selling it for, but then I thought "when would I ever buy a PS5 Pro? If mine breaks, I'll just get another base model with a disc drive" and I walked away.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for September 2025 Announced

Stardew Valley is one of the greatest games of it's era. Also one of the most difficult platinum trophies I've ever earned, thanks to that damn twin-stick mini game. Viewfinder and Psychonauts are both rare in the sense that they are Essential titles that I haven't played already AND find interesting enough to check out.

Re: Preview: The Outer Worlds 2 Doubles Down on RPG Gameplay to Great Effect

I was convinced I would love the first game, because New Vegas is one of my all-time favs, but I bounced off it pretty hard despite multiple attempts to play through it. They either need to come up with a better alternative to VATS or make melee actually viable for me to pick this one up. I also found that I couldn't have cared less about any of the companions in the first game, so hopefully that's improved as well. Maybe it's the setting too, I don't know...
