Re: GDC Survey Reveals Developers Are Twice as Interested in Making Games for PS5 Than Xbox

@Carnage " ‘plug and play’ is a big part of the appeal of consoles."

  • But how often is anyone unplugging their machines? Especially with the severe lack of couch co-op games these days and the widespread use of online internet connectivity, i doubt many people are taking their consoles anywhere as much; PC is not hard to plug in anymore: plug the PC unit into your power outlet, connect the monitor to the pc, connect the keyboard and mouse...and??? (mind you, im speaking for pre-built PC's such as mine)

"It’s true some people love to tinker but some just want to get into it."

  • PC automatically optimizes and sets itself up, the tinkering is entirely optional & you can download/install games and play them right away. its 2026, PC's has come a long way and does all the heavy lifting, it's not the days of old anymore.

"Another big part of the appeal of consoles is the subsidized hardware."

  • Weve have been in the era of diminishing returns going as far back as the PS4 era. It's already a well known fact that the majority of PC players are playing on low end to mid hardware; you do not have to upgrade your PC as much anymore, arguably less than buying a new console at this point. console is more expensive than PC in the longrun on pretty much every facet all the while providing significantly less value

@DKG-85 “I'll never understand why anyone would want to game on PC!?”

  • Superior hardware & power, very flexible options and features to tailor your experience just how you want it with no limitations; want to play god of war with an xbox controller? want to play halo with a dualsense? want to play some nintendo games with a keyboard and mouse? Want to play on your TV in big picture mode? Want to add extra to the game you’re playing with mods? PC has it all. There’s so much freedom & customization with PC it’s ridiculous. Not to mention access to playstation and xbox networks & gamepass but with FREE online. I thought i’d be the last person to ever get on PC but it was perfect timing for me as pc is easier than ever to get into now and i only use a controller, i dont have to use keyboard and mouse, PC will work with virtually anything that you plug into it that has buttons - even a toy.

“ There's no physical games so you don't own anything ”

  • You don’t own any games anymore regardless as any updates you download could block access to the game & most discs don’t contain the full game on it. you buy physical and still have to install and download updates whereas digital bypasses that. Also, there is a thing called external storage, i have plenty of digital games on my USB stick and External SSD. i rather have games stored on a single memory device vs junky game cases/DVDs that could get damaged, lost, or stolen. Digital is also extremely convenient; i couldn’t care less about holding a DVD in my hands, man.

Also i just want to add that having 2 windows open with a running game and an adjacent window with NFL games showing all on one screen is the coolest thing ever. I can play games and watch videos at the same time! can’t do that on console. I could even run multiple games for example, while i’m matchmaking in an online game i’ll just tab out and play another game until a match is found with my main game.

what a shame, Xbox had the potential to surpass playstation. Xbox in the past was known for having better hardware (OG xbox, not 360), better software, controller, and a better network functionality and they squandered it all for TV, kinect, & always online. While it’s cool that some exclusives are being shared these days, i do miss when there was a reason to own all 3 brands. now its just been PC and PS5 for me (my switch is dormant) and let me tell you - pc really is the future! all exclusives on one machine to play with any controller i want and free online on powerful hardware is a godsend

Re: Despite Its Price, PS5 Pro Enjoyed a Very Respectable 2025 in USA

@Almost_Ghostly I don’t understand why you have to be so damn rude, i’m not being rude or condescending to you. Your rebuttals are just disparaging remarks.

The CPU (Cell) itself was more powerful than PCs in 06 and roughly 07. PCs still had a slightly stronger GPU and better RAM, but the ps3 had multicore CPUs first & the cell had faster processing, better memory for more interactivity in games & better physics

@Almost_Ghostly not really , because the ps3 had a reason to be expensive irregardless of inflation - What does the PS5 Pro do to justify being $800?

The PS3 was groundbreaking cutting edge tech for its time that was ahead of the curve in every way , so much so, that it was more powerful than THE MOST powerful PC for about a good year and a half or so; The Ps5 pro is not even more powerful than a MID RANGE PC.

The ps3 was also 100% backwards compatible therefore allowing you to play THREE generations of games all in one machine NATIVELY. That’s only scratching the surface of all the features it had including software and peripherals. Pioneering blu-ray games, HDMI, i could go on

Re: Going Platinum #9: Marvel's Spider-Man

nomither6

tbh it really isn’t a hard game to platinum, i think this game was one of the earliest games when platinums started becoming easier to get. The plat in this game was more about playing it long enough to complete everything vs challenging.

still a great game & better than its lukewarm sequel, and also in the top 3 spiderman games. I’d rank it as Spiderman Ps4> Spiderman PS1 > Toss up between Spiderman 2 & Spiderman Dimensions.

So yeah, it’s number one! i can’t believe im already nostalgic about it. 2018 was just yesterday, right guys?? 😢

Re: Despite Its Price, PS5 Pro Enjoyed a Very Respectable 2025 in USA

nomither6

@Almost_Ghostly Because its a ripoff compared to what the original PS3 could do and was capable of back in ‘06 for 599. The PS5 Pro basically does nothing & should have been the base standard PS5 as a 2020s console to begin with. If someone is willing to spend that much for a dated and limited machine relative to its price, they might as well spend a bit more and just get a PC.

It’ll never not blow my mind how people still criticize the OG Fat PS3’s price today even, but gives the bare-minimum, all digital, PS5 Pro a pass. It’s a super underwhelming machine relative to its time period and overpriced even more

Re: Call of Duty Sales Hit 17-Year Low with Black Ops 7

Can’t blame M$ for this since COD has been dog**** since Ghosts back in 2013 with only one great game in between 2013 - 2026. People complained back then about COD games being the same but boy we didn’t know how good we had it compared to how samey they are now, i mean, black ops SEVEN - really?? seven?
