These weekends come around quick, don’t they? Not that we’re complaining! It’s another opportunity to spend a couple of days cuddled up with our favourite consoles. What are you playing?
Aaron Bayne
I reckon I'll chip away a little at Cairn this weekend, but me and the lads have also been playing Left 4 Dead 2 on our Steam Decks. It's insane how fun that game still is!
Jamie O'Neill
Today is the last day in January, so it's worth sticking to my 2026 PS5 New Year's resolution to play 12 PS5 games that aren't available on PS4. I've an alphabetical list, which starts superbly with Astro Bot.

Over the last few weeks it's been nothing but super secret review games for me, but you'll soon see the fruits of my labour! Keep an eye on the site and all will be revealed...

I'm hopelessly addicted to the colossal Arknights: Endfield, but I really need to pull myself away to work on another project.
That's everything we're playing this weekend, then, but what about you? Is there anything in particular you're pouring countless hours into? Or are you satisfied with an old favourite? Let us know below.

I am juggling between Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and Assassin's Creed Origins, but this weekend I will play Origins, amazing game!
On the side I will play Machinarium which is a cute hand drawn point and click adventure game
AND I will be playing some Resident Evil 7 on the Meta Quest 3!
Happy gaming everyone!
Being forced out of my comfort zone this weekend as Maniac keeps on crashing when deep into a run and Green Hell is becoming well, Hell 😂.
So it’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Jusant this weekend. Enjoying them both so far (started yesterday). I also managed to give Silent Hill F a go in the week but got stuck on a colour coded door and switch puzzle, though it was late at night and I was tired after work (I know, crap excuse) so I’ll try and get that done Sunday evening.
Football and a Vindaloo tonight as well 👍
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
More Red Dead Redemption for me this weekend. Exploring Blackwater and environs now and getting close to the end of my adventure. It's such a great game I'll be sorry to finish it. Will hopefully squeeze in some Patapon as well.
Happy gaming folks.
Just got the plat for nine sols so some lost records, ghost trick or tormented souls I haven't decided yet 😔
Bravely Default Flying Fairy: Love the take on the job system from Final Fantasy and the Brave/Default mechanics are still implemented really well. The graphics are also quite good looking, and even the chibi-heads don't bother me. Combine all of the above with another memorable story and you get a classic JRPG that merits attention.
Helldivers and Mario Kart this weekend.
Not starting anything new really until Resident Evil comes.
(I say that with one eye on Nioh III, which I swore I wouldn't touch...)
Dreamcast for me. Going to carry on playing Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2.
I didn't finish 13 Sentinels as planned this past week, so I'll keep chipping away at that, but after all the positive buzz I'll also boot up Cairn - even though it looks like it will stress me out! Some ARC Raiders trials to wind down.
Gravity Guy (Windows Phone) - Now starting on this, not very far.
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - Back to try and conquer the last hunk of the game.
Asphalt Overdrive (Windows Phone) - This has been very tricky to keep running in "offline" mode. I'm still making progress however.
Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is coming next week. Playing Dynasty Warriors Origins and Ghost of Yotei in the meantime. Also playing Infamous First Light again looks awesome on the Pro
In a bit of a lull waiting for NioH 3, so continuing my Xenoblade Chronicles adventure on switch while tackling some of the many escalations etc I never completed on Hitman.
Have a good’un all!
I completed Oblivion recently, along with the dark brotherhood and thieves guild quests. I jumped to Solar Crown and enjoyed it to an extent, but I just found myself burning out too quickly on the formula.
So I tried a couple of others. Inescapable, which I just found to be a weaker, more diluted Danganronpa - type VN. I also tried LISA. It's a fun game, grim and funny in equal measure. But the combat system always opens with this obnoxiously loud explosion.
I've dropped all three of these for the time being. I'm wondering what to jump into next. Catherine? Monster Hunter? Greedfall? Pacific Drive?
During the week, I finished up Gotham Knights and slammed through The Rogue Prince of Persia, the latter of which is one hell of a game. As a Dead Cells enjoyer I couldn't put it down. I did end up with a sequence break though, which rendered two of the Steam achievements unobtainable unless I start a new game. You know what though? The game's so good, I'm not even mad and I probably will start a new save file to get them.
So I might do that over the weekend. I'll also still be chipping away at Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, playing some Helldivers 2 and maybe pick something else out of the Backlog of Shame™.
I bought Mavrix by Matt Jones a couple of days ago and have been really enjoying it- I like the triggers being front and back brakes, makes some of the challenges really technical! This then put me in an extreme (digital) sports mood and with the winter Olympics starting next week I have been back into Steep and Shredders, Riders Republic and skate. Just great fun games, forgotten how much I enjoyed them! Have a great weekend folks!
Still on the wonderful KCD2. I just stepped out of an armourer's shop and met some guy making noise outside, talked to him boom a quest line started. This is just one of the beautiful things about this game, aside all the side quests markers on the map, quests with no markers can start out of the blue. Game is so immersively hardcore when you're sneaking there's no highlighting of enemies. What a game! Then will be helping Judy on her quests in the spectacularly raytaced CP2077.
its mostly helldivers 2, need to farm 400 more super credits for the new warbond dropping next week.
Will be helping some of the stragglers with the various multiplayer trophies on Gears of War: Reloaded, while continuing to chip away at the 10,000 competitive kills needed for the Seriously trophy.
And maybe some more Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver if I get some free time.
I will continued playing fan favorite the awsome rogue legacy 2.i will also continued playing the instant classic the incredible absolum. I will also continued playing one of the best video games ever made in the amazing hades.i will also continued be playing another fan favorite in the wonderful curse of the dead gods. I will also be continued playing another instant classic in the excellent dead cells with all the dlcs.i will also continued be playing another one of the best video games ever made in the phenomenal nioh with all the dlcs.and I will be continued playing one of the best remakes ever in the terrific resident evil 2 remake.i will be watching my boston celtics 💚🖤 play.and I will be watching legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.the wayans brothers. And saved by the bell.word up son
Assassin's Creed Shadows
Progressed the Shinbakufu storyline by assassinating the Ox. Also assassinated all the Kabukimono, Iron Hand, and Genzaburo's Soldiers targets. Currently Level 47.
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Delivered empty pallets to Kalmar. After 101 days my Ziggurat Spedition trucking empire has 42 trucks.
Continuing death stranding 2 today. I did get a little annoyed last night playing as I had planned to save and come off after I made one more delivery but then got stuck in a 40 minute cut scene that I wasn’t expecting
Its been a bit of a mixed bag since last week
Resildent Evil Village - Despite my weak heart and tiny balls I managed to finish the game 😅 Thank ***** it didnt get worse than House Beneviento as that would have been to much for me... its very hard to play games and hide behind a pillow at the same time 😂 Very happy it dropped on Plus so I could give it a go, very good game and I enjoyed it a lot despite some near heart attacks and such!
I've also given both Arknights Endfield and Highguard a fair try but neither of them is really good enough to be worth my time. They're both pretty okayish games though, so others may like them better than me. Highguard has some potential but for my own part they would need to make some big changes to get me back, the gunplay and worldbuilding was nice though.
Fallout 4 - Watching the show made me want to play Fallout 3 or New Vegas but since the remasters/remakes seems to be years away, I decided to play Fallout 4 instead as I've only played it once before. Its the weakest of the three imo but its nice to play the ps5 version, 60 fps makes the gunplay a lot better and its still great to explore the Wasteland and all that but I also remember why I only played it once. Feels like the first real step in the wrong direction for Bethesda. Hopefully Fallout 5 and Elder Scrolls 6 will be ***** awesome and that they've learned their lesson with this and Starfield. But, I'll finish Fallout 4 and might even go for the platinum 🙂
i’ve been wanting to hook my ps3 up again and buy more hidden gems on its digital store, but just havent had time so i’ve just been playing some marvel rivals here and there
it is my fix after all for a series i used to love that was killed by blizzard
Currently playing the Nioh 3 Demo to try and decide if I want to buy the full game - I'm still undecided, but giving it a chance.
If not then I will probably replay some RE Remakes in readiness for Requiem.
So far a little morning session with AC Shadows on Pro.
It’s my birthday today, so will be out later.
This weekend is horror time for me. I'm playing Silent Hill 2 remake. Great atmosphere, all in all a great game, although I'm not a fan of the enemies, I would prefer typical zombies. Happy gaming everyone!
@Rich33
Played most of the Nioh 3 demo.
Seems ok but I’m currently on ACS and GOY and brain hurts switching games and controls. 😂
Nioh 3 just doesn’t do it for me like ACS and GOY, so will give it a miss for now.
Others may prefer Nioh 3 though.
78hrs into Octopath Traveler 0 and no signs of stopping, save a brief jaunt into Cyradill. Will I ever finish this game?
Have a good weekend and stay warm gamers!
Code Vein 2 for me, as it's the latest soulslike release. And I'm very close to getting platinum for Borderlands 3 with my wife, so that'll be on the list as well.
This weekend is all about the Nioh 3 demo for me. Glad I played a little bit of Nioh 2 last weekend to refresh my memory - there's a lot to take in.
Really enjoying what I played of it last night. Once you get into the swing of when to switch between ninja and samurai styles, you can absolutely lay waste to enemies. It feels very satisfying to play.
The first boss will put some people off. It's less of a skill check, and more of a check that you've taken in what you've been shown so far. And you've been shown a lot.
The other thing that may put people off is the loot system, which is as ridiculous as ever. My advice? Find something you feel good using and bin everything else, don't worry about it. Something else will come along in a minute anyway!
Got to finish Expedition 33 pleasantly surprised hype is real game is worth it. Then go back and finish Mafia, not impressed by this one, thought it was worse than scores gave it. Need to clear them out so I can focus on Nioh 3, I am giving myself until RE Requiem comes out to beat it.
@OldGamer999
I would argue Nioh 3 is probably aimed at different players to a degree, as its a Soulslike - which as a genre I really enjoy. But, I also agree, as a game it is not on the same level as GoY.
I'm still very much on the fence about Nioh 3 (even though I played and enjoyed Nioh 2).
They seem to have added layers of unneeded complexity to a game they should have carefully refined; and I'm sorry, but whilst they have done a great job cleaning up framerate issues, it still looks really rough - it looks a full gen behind GoY (and 3rd party games like Hogwarts) played on a Pro.
I'll continue playing Power Wash Simulator which is addictive fun like the first game.
Also finished Ghost Of Yotei yesterday after putting on 70 hours.Still a few things to doo but I'll start another game I received for Christmas..Expedition 33 or Cronos The New Dawn.
On the Switch I'm 18 hours into Octopath Traveller Zero which I'm loving.
On the one hand, Wo Long. I've been taking it slowly, doing one or two missions per day, but I'll probably pick up the pace starting now.
On the other hand, Dark Auction. Quirky new visual novel I'm playing on the side when I don't quite have the energy for Wo Long's action.
Skull and Bones! Somehow, just playing one day each weekend, and a snatched hour here and there during the weeks in January, and getting the weekly races in GT7 done, I've racked up 60 hours of pirating, and I feel like I've only just begun. I normally hate cut scenes, but I like the sweary ones in Skull and Bones, even if they do only point you towards another boat or boats you have to sink, or a settlement to plunder. The gameplay is simple, but it's great fun, and when you find yourself trying to take down a high level bounty and put out a call for help, actual people turn up, you can also see on the map how many people are joining in other attacks, and fast travel straight over to them.
Your cannons don't hurt your fellow bounty hunters, or players you meet on the seas, unless you specifically choose a mission or PVP mode where they do damage to fellow players, so it means that, unlike GTA online, you don't get idiot kids running around blowing you up when you are minding your own business.
I've been a gamer since having Space Invaders on a Compukit UK101 my dad built in 1980, and this is genuinely the first time I have enjoyed any game that has online interaction with other players.
For all the knocks Ubisoft get, they know how to entertain me.
Nioh 3 demo for me. I am surprised by how much content you actually get in it and as I'm not going to have much time for gaming over the next few weeks I am happy to get a bit of a head start on the full game.
I'm loving that its gone semi open world and was initially a bit put off by the extra complexities others have mentioned but they are growing on me the more I play. Graphics look like ass but they aren't majorly important to me as long as it runs well which it seems to. It feels like it might be a bit easier than the previous games so I wonder if Team Ninja are trying to make it more accessible to new players, although the many complex systems both in combat and skill management probably won't help. Its definitely going to be my next obsession but not entirely convinced it will be the 10/10 Nioh 2 was.
A bummer that my PS3 slim can't read R&C Tools of Destruction copy that i bought two weeks ago. At planet Kortog, it keeps loading over and over. It's my fault for buying a very cheap copy and without asking the condition. Oh well 😔
So, i think i'll play FF X HD, Fatal Frame II, and House of the Dead III on PS3.
Outside gaming, i'm gonna rewatch Ghost in the Shell movies / tv series. The new anime looks great, very close to the manga artstyle & story although i doubt they gonna include the virtual lesbian orgy scene haha. It will come out this July, here's the teaser trailer:

Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
Playing "Nioh 3 Demo" Non-stop
Still hooked on the glorious Absalom. Have about 25 hours played on it. The variety of the builds make "one more run" far too easy. Think I might park it temporarily before the big update in two weeks.
I (against my own previous words) picked up a copy of Fatal Fury City of the Wolves. It was still sealed, has the first season pass, and was €10. So I'll take a noodle around for the price.
I'm also enjoying the rather charming Art of Rally (played it before on Xbox, but much prefer the Dualsense).
Honestly, I’m all over the place this weekend! Nioh 3 demo along with Resident Evil 3 and AI Limit. I’m also dipping into Arknights Endfield because I want to see what the building aspect of it is like. I also need to work my way through FF Tactics.
A little bit of everything when I’m not busy with the kids.
I don’t have much of an update from last weekend. I’m still playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake for the Switch 2. I’m approximately 65% through the story and absolutely enthralled despite beating the game multiple times on PS4/5. In fact, I may replay the game on PlayStation and get the platinum trophy since SqE essentially updated the game with “God mode” availability.
I have to say, though, after completing Rebirth and having more perspective on the story direction, it makes the first game even better.m due to its contextual gravity. You pick up subtle story beats, and character interaction and dialogue makes more sense. I think it is an impressive feat to have a sequel — Rebirth — that makes its predecessor —Remake — even better.
I can’t wait to see how Rebirth performs on the Switch 2. It’s remarkable how well optimized the Remake is, and how smooth the gameplay feels even though the frame-rate dips in a few cinematics. I’m not sure how it’s going to be pulled off considering how much larger it will be.
All of that said, these games feel tailored made for handheld and portability. I can’t imagine playing it any other way. It draws out a sense nostalgia, being a kid, staying up late when school was canceled because of snow and ice, and being a foot away from the television, my eyes glued to the screen. It’s the same reason why I have an affinity with Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the GBA. It feels personal; intimate, and that’s when a franchise is elevated to GOAT status.
@Rich33
I guess it’s all about money and time to make a true this generation game for the Pro.
Hopefully after the PSSR upgrade I think in March it might easier.
But yes Nioh 3 isn’t a looker like GOY or even ACS on the pro after the PSSR update.
