the first game looks better in every way. and the nostalgia i have for the first & the movie tie-in runs too deep

just calling it flex or strike would’ve been better , flexstrike sounds too tryhard and also sounds like a failed live service game 😂

never been a fightstick guy, but also never used one either, i’m stuck in my ways with a controller; lm really glad that $ony is supporting fighting games though, so love to see it.

The whole reason gears of war 1 is releasing on ps5 IS because of E-DAY. they want to rekindle interest in the series; it’s all part of the plan. Gears of war 1 is gonna crawl on ps5 so E DAY can walk into instant success on ps5, i hope.

@11001100110zero Couldn’t agree more, PC is easier to get into than it ever was & i have a pre-built😂all i did was “plug-&-play” as they say, lol; bought a monitor, hooked it up, turned on the PC & let windows setup and do everything for me & nvidia auto-optimize for me. I went out of my way to add more RAM (now have 80GB) but so far i’ve had no problems with PC - every game works, new & old. Plus free online, game mods, amazingly cheap deals on games & so many different storefronts to buy them, emulators of games across generations & playing smash bros melee online, super accessibility friendly because PC allows to use any kind of controller you want - playing halo master chief collection with a dualsense, or spider-man with a xbox or switch pro controller is liberatingly cool. PC really is the future!

also, no where else (as of now) can you play games from $ony, M$, and nintendo on one machine

ugh 😒 idk how to feel about this; i don’t like anime man & im gen z. this anime craze (where im from) didn’t blow up until like the mid to mostly late 2010s despite anime existing since like, what, the 80s? If this is the way for $ony then how about moving Playstation back to Japan and as far away as possible from California where their legacy nearly died.

@zockermiller i’ve already stated that even if developers pull their game from the store that If you purchased the game, then it’s tied to your account & you can redownload it anytime, your account actually DOES have weight . I currently still own the original marvel vs capcom 2 & scott pilgrim on xbox360 to this day & can uninstall and re-download them anytime. i also still have avengers on PC that was de-listed years ago & the mortal kombat collection, do you know why? because they’re tied to my account. Have you ever experienced having your games revoked digitally or know anyone in person that actually has? It virtually never happens & the people that say it does or is going to happen, are always people that don’t like digital - it’s never the people that actually do.

if my system breaks - i can also buy a new one - sign in - & redownload my (delisted) games as long as PSN/XBL exists. As for offline - i simply just won’t delete my games. no different than simply holding on to your discs 😂 & if my system breaks and there’s no way to redownload digital - then that’s what external SSDs/HDDs are for

@zockermiller lol, come on man, seems like you’re really reaching for a strawman 😂 if the hardware fails, just extract the hard drive or use the cloud - that’s what backing up data is for & buy a new/used console 😂 better yet - you could even buy a jailbroken console with emulated games on it! also, digital games are tied to your account so you can download games on any console you sign into

and what if someone steals your disc, you lose it, or it breaks or becomes damaged beyond repair? what if your disc drive stops working?

also sorry but i’m saying it anyway - all it takes is one console update to block the disc from being read . you may own the disc, but you don’t own the console since we’re reaching for strawmans here

@zockermiller I still have my digital wii games & virtual console games - they weren’t locked or taken away from me when the store shut down, i just won’t delete my games; it’s no different than someone having physical copy of their game and then somehow losing it - just don’t delete/lose your game.

On the flip side, Xbox360 store shutdown a year ago & i’m still able to re-download my digital games; same with delisted games on steam, because it’s common knowledge that games you digitally purchase will always be re-downloadable for you no matter what happens to the game or service.

I have no answer to the poll other than to remove EOMM from F2P PvP games. For those who don’t know what it is, look it up. NetEase even has a video of them discussing it at GDQ; I first found out about it way back with Overwatch 2 when I knew something was fishy about the matchmaking. I’ve learned now that if a PvP game is F2P, it most definitely has EOMM.

Force-feeding players artificial win streaks and artificial forced loss streaks is sickening. i’d rather loot boxes than a game telling me when it’s my turn to lose or win to force some sort of engagement and emotional addiction 👎 soon fighters will be the only pvp safe from this s*** because it’s one of the few PvPs where you’re in complete control of your own wins and losses without methodically placed teammates of EOMM rigging to determine it for you.

@zockermiller hasn’t happened yet in over 15+ years since digital games started becoming a thing, so i think i’ll be good

@PuppetMaster good point. it seems like a lot of people don’t actually want to beat games nowadays , they want it to be a metaverse for them that takes a month to finish 😂

@dskatter it’s really not. the ps3 was CLEARLY, OBVIOUSLY, & BLATANTLY a generational leap, there’s no question about it. My analogy made perfect sense - it describes diminishing returns and less generational leaps. it didn’t start with the ps3, it started with the ps4 - a console that was dated with old tech on release.

never mind the pro, it’s a joke that it can’t even run 60fps on ps5 . the ps5 is just a ps4 pro, while the ps4 pro is what the ps4 should have been. smh

i want a new infamous game , i’m so tired of remasters , especially since i still have my ps3 and never had an issue with the original versions . if modern consoles were simply BC and had patches released to run old games at higher fps and resolution it wouldn’t be a need for this

i was always more of a blazblue guy. i hope the new marvel plays more like blazblue than rusty gear, but i doubt it

more games for gamers so i’m down with it , but i think this will ultimately do more damage than good in the long run unfortunately

pc pretty much fulfilled all the desirable features i’ve wanted with the ps5 that they’ve slowly been stripping away from since after the ps3. ps4 had some great features too but then updates happened

THIS is a true ARCADE racing game, not forza horizon & im so nostalgic for it. i don’t have the game anymore since i had it on Xbox one and theres no cross-progression or crossplay. compared to the recent trash nfs been dropping (except heat) rivals was a banger

@SMJ @Cry_Zero , facts! GTA4 had the best story & protagonist in the series! I also like how it resembles the PS2 gta games with its aesthetics, while V pretty much stripped that moody atmosphere away

@SMJ technically, saving data is free, it’s originally stored on your console & tied to your account; you don’t have to pay to save your in-game progress. it’s when you want to “back-up” your saves to P$N servers, that you’d have to pay.

As far as transferring saves - i completely agree. you used to be able to transfer your saves to virtually any storage during the ps360 days. i have no idea why $ony became so controlling over peoples saves other than to prevent some sort of hacking or modding, i guess.

@SMJ yeah, that too. completely forgot about cloud saves, but i’ve been affected by that as well! To be fair though (& im gonna play devils advocate here just a little bit) - i believe cloud storing services like google drive, one drive, etc, are free to an extent; but once your storage fills, you’d have to upgrade/buy more storage. It would be nice if $ony would allow us to have free storage to an extent

@SMJ at the least it shouldn’t be gatekeeping online. if it didn’t force people into wasting their money for online play then the service would be better because the mediocrity it offers would be optional & therefore anyone who goes out of their way to subscribe obviously doesn’t see it as mediocre to them, so it’s a win-win(like the ps3 days). a win for consumers, that is; $ony doesn’t like that.
