nah. the names pretty lame too, didn’t they already call their previous failure the steam machine? I can see this being a threat to Xbox and possibly a better replacement for it, but playstation (like nintendo) will always have its place - it’s too distinct & established

btw, my pc is already a steam machine since i only play with a controller anyway

@PuppetMaster i got a prebuilt and haven’t had any problems so far 3 and a half years in. PC has came a long way and isn’t nowhere near as bad as people here at pushsquare keep saying

plus, i cant use a keyboard and mouse at all to play games, its way too hard. even shooters that people claim are superior or recommended for keyboard and mouse, i play much better with a controller instead

@Carnage this is true, normally i’d say that halo is M$ flagship title or identity, but since xbox no longer has an identity , it’s safe to say Halo ran its course and has no fitting in this era . it’s a boomer shooter like quake and unreal. bungie ended this series so perfectly and then 343 came along and ruined it with crap after crap games

and that’s fine if the classes weren’t equal - im aware of that, but that still doesn’t excuse the other problems with NF

@ShadowRJ the og took skill and wasnt a broken mess beyond storymode & had better pvp; bad players got lapped in the OG CTR but that also happened in mario kart too - bad players always got lapped in kart racers, thats not the problem. its that nitro-fueled broke the core game, and nitro karts involvement is like a crap stain on a painting. the nitro kart/nitro fueled tracks are all designed for blue fire exploitation - theyre not kart racing tracks.

also acceleration wasnt useless in the og, but it is in NF.

@ShadowRJ It’s sad that it’s considered a “boiling hot take” these days , especially to people that presumably grew up with or at least played the original a lot before nitro fueled was even heard of. it’s been YEARS since ive last played nitro fueled. haven’t played it since late 2019, but one major game breaking issue was the blue fire mechanic - they completely ruined it and made it broken. it was so bad that the moment that you lost it you’d lose a race because it was impossible to catch back up. this stupid *** mechanic turned the game from being a kart racer into f-zero ;couple the fact that this also made 98% of the items in the game useless that wasn’t an orb or mask (hell, even THOSE couldn’t catch you!) and you’d see how game breaking it was. the blue fire was even admitted by devs to had been a mistake they didn’t know how to fix despite it being fine in the original (the original didn’t have the blue color , but same concept)

nitro fueled balance was awful - literally only speed karts mattered, acceleration/turning/balanced were all completely useless, the nitro kart tracks were majority AWFUL & the original nitro fueled tracks were terrible too because they were all designed the exact same way for the infinite blue fire mechanic , so people just flew through tracks spending more time in the air than on the ground. it was a broken mess & im glad the online died as fast as it did. i remember on launch there used to be like 5 orbs at once on the track. the orb spam was insane. also the terrible lag that your character literally got hit by thin air.

original characters like ripper roo, pinstripe, papu papu voices and personalities were completely ruined , which really sucked for me personally since i love(d) ripper roo

also just a little pet peeve but - the nitro characters are trash. literally everything about nitro kart is disgusting ; fans of the original CTR just wanted the original CTR only. i know i still do. nitro fueled beyond its single player was super unpolished and haphazardly put together. also 30fps

nitro fueled was trash, id love for a 1:1 remaster of the original with nothing changed or added except online.

common PC W, i haven’t been interested in trying pcxs2 despite having it installed , but i’ll try it one day

@Porco oh absolutely, i’ve heard of several people that have went back to PS3 & played some hidden gems, myself included. it was such a great gen that a lot of people took for granted due to the FPS craze - and rightfully so to be honest, because that generation had all developers firing on all cylinders even fps were great

the modern AAA space (does it even still exist? 😂) doesn’t compare to the PS3! Because if it did, then indies wouldn’t be so strongly sought out today as a substitute

@11001100110zero i believe it’s a combination of comfort & fear. people stuck in their ways don’t want to hear how much better PC has become, they want to stay in their own beliefs that console is the better value and that PC is a buggy, expensive & complicated mess, even though that rhetoric couldn’t be further from the truth.

also, like console warriors, they seem to think it’s impossible to own more than one platform/console 😂

@KawakiisaFraud nah, don’t worry, i’m anti-fanboy to the bone & im inclined to agree with you. having a reason to turn on your console is extremely important; PC is a monolithic beast that’s risky to play with & sony is definitely playing around too much.

spider-man 2 was disappointing . i gave it the same rating as the first game but it should’ve been way more for a sequel. insomniac generally has a good track record though

the fat ps1 is aesthetically pleasing, the fat ps2 is just straight up a work of art, the fat ps3 is luxurious beauty and still timeless, the fat ps4 has an awesome shape & the fat ps5 is the boldest. slim models were always the boring revisions with stripped features

this kollection is disappointing from what i’m hearing; i would’ve gladly taken a re-release of mk9 instead. seems like they can’t make another good mk these days - first mk11, then mk1 & now this

also, the playstation consoles were only preferred for fighters because of the d-pad on the controller and because playstations always had a wider reach sales wise.
