the ps5 generation ruined platinum trophies, it used to be more “valuable” for lack of a better word, before they made it easy and nothing more than just time sinks instead of skill based

@GamingGod You gotta be kidding me. Look at what all the PS3 could do for 2006 , take that in to account and then reconsider if it was justified:

• Built in wi-fi, no ethernet cable required for internet access & to this day, the PS3 can connect to modern modems, the Xbox360 & Wii can’t, they’re incompatible with today’s modems
• Built in wireless rechargeable battery controller with motion controls. While the wii had motion controls, it ran off external batteries like the Xbox360 controller while the DS3 was rechargeable & had bluetooth functionality
• Fully backwards compatible across TWO ENTIRE GENERATIONS, plus current generation ps3 games - That’s THREE GENERATIONS in ONE CONSOLE, and that’s not even counting retro title releases in the PS3 store, so that adds even more generations
• Blu-ray, CD & DVD player. Games only needed a single disc for PS3 while the Xbox360 needed up to three discs at times for one game. Blu ray was also a big deal at the time and the PS3 was the cheapest blu ray player. Not to mention, blu-ray is now commonplace because of the PS3.
• FOUR Usb ports, AV + Component + HDMI support which was also huge at the time, because the early Xbox360 models did not have HDMI, the ps3 also came with much more storage
• FREE online, PS plus was birthed there and was actually good & optional with great rewards for subscribers
• Internet browser, playstation home, multimedia functionality and could store music directly onto the console

The ps3 had so many features both software & hardware wise, and was absolutely cutting edge tech for its time with great processing and graphical power. For about a year and a half the PS3 was more powerful than a high end PC - something’s that’s never been done with console before

the ps3 also introduced SEVERAL ORIGINAL & BRAND NEW playstation IPs while still producing classic ps titles with new entries as well. Lastly , 7th generation as a whole introduced so many IPs and game play styles that are still in-use heavily today. that era revolutionized gaming in every way as we know it today

it’s extremely disingenuous to downplay the ps3 when the ps5 has hardly done anything besides be overpriced & ride the coat tails of the ps4 & ps legacy. the ps5 whether base model or pro, is not cutting edge and is dated hardware unlike the ps3 that was well worth its price.

@Zeroo i’m sure the DmC games are longer than 12 hours and aren’t bloated slop and are tight experiences. 12 hours is short, simple as that.

i have em both on pc. i got the euro truck one by accident so had to double dip for the american one. had i not bought the euro one by accident i could have saved some money, nothing against europe, of course 😛 i’ll install/play that version someday , i dont want a refund. Gotta truck more across home turf first , though 🦅🇺🇸

also will never understand the praise for third strike at all. it took three iterations for that half decent game to be acceptable , but sure. the game that nearly killed the franchise is fantastic

i’m jaded to the prices they splurge on mid games at the behest of $ony, when i can’t & never will touch a piece of it . all that fiat being wasted , i guess the dollar really doesn’t have any value 💀

@Northern_munkey hardly upgraded my pc since i bought it 😂. pc definitely doesn’t save you money or anything in the long run . did you run into any pc players during your marathon session that were connected to the servers for free by any chance?

no seriously , i can’t think of a bigger blowout in gaming history. wii u/nintendo was dead, xbox one was basically an advertisement for the ps4. But unlike the ps5, the ps4 was actually a great playstation console
