Despite Its Price, PS5 Pro Enjoyed a Very Respectable 2025 in USA 1

Of all the PS5 consoles sold in USA last year, approximately 13% of them were PS5 Pro models.

That’s a very respectable number for the superpowered system, and roughly right in line with the PS4 Pro, which accounted for around 13% of the PS4’s lifetime sales in America.

It’s worth remembering that the PS5 Pro – at an eye-watering $749.99/£699.99 – is significantly more expensive than its predecessor, although that’s consistent across the base hardware as well, which costs much more than the PS4 did at the same point in its lifecycle as well.

Either way, it demonstrates a successful strategy for Sony: it’s clear there is a market for a more powerful piece of hardware.

And sales could increase further this year if the system’s previously announced PSSR upgrades represent a sizeable improvement.

Of course, that will all be dependent on whether the Japanese giant can at least keep hardware prices consistent; the ongoing RAM apocalypse means Sony’s family of consoles could yet get more expensive than they already are.
