No it shouldn’t. new god of war fans should stick with the nu-god of war games. if you didn’t like the series back then, then stay on the other side. the trilogy is for , or at least should be for, classic fans

So tired of anime fighters at this point, can we please get something different, even that new flop 2xxko or whatever tf it is, is another one. Mortal Kombat is the closest we have to a more grounded and grit fighter, but Mortal Kombat is trash now. The fighting game landscape right now is like if the shooter genre only had games like fortnite, apex, Overwatch, and no COD, Arc Raiders, or Battlefield 😒

i wanted real pixel art, 16 or 32-bit hack n slash beat em up as prime greek kratos with over the top gore and shredding again in a brooding gritty atmosphere like ghost of sparta and GoW1.

also, i agree with jaffe. I miss dudebros like him in the industry, he knew the vision of god of war & what it was meant to be. what they’ve done to the franchise should have been done with another character within the same universe, and they should’ve dedicated this 2D slop game to their new character

it was not the 2D game i was expecting at all. I wanted greek kratos in a dark brooding game in 16-bit

@J2theEzzo and seeing it from neptunes point of view! it was amazing how they pretty much integrated cutscenes with gameplay, and they did an excellent job displaying how terrifying kratos really was! Each god feared him and died in agony and it was all so satisfying; while kratos was a bit of an ass, people don’t understand that the gods were even worse! god of war 3 was PEAK kratos and the series at its prime!

@johncalmc same here, i was expecting pixel graphics and over the top pixel gore and action platformer with an atmosphere and art style akin to mortal kombat 3

@J2theEzzo i wholeheartedly agree & my thoughts exactly. God of War 3 in the early 2010’s really showcased the power of the cell and how next gen the PS3 truly was at the time; it was a spectacle and jaw dropping, no other game at the time was on the level of god of war because it was a technical marvel and the spectacle and wow-factor was unmatched. the gameplay itself was so damn good that it didn’t even feel like 30fps because of how smooth and slick the gameplay was. What people know of modern games today, the PS3 did first and was the only console capable of doing it at the time

@DonkeyFantasy i’m kind of inclined to agree, and i blame sega for it. Sonic lost his edge from the early 2000s era because Sega started copying Nintendo and trying to align Sonics identity and world to be like Mario’s all the way down to the redesigns of Sonic & characters and different lore.

Especially with the severe lack of couch co-op games these days and the widespread use of online internet connectivity, i doubt many people are taking their consoles anywhere as much; PC is not hard to plug in anymore: plug the PC unit into your power outlet, connect the monitor to the pc, connect the keyboard and mouse...and??? (mind you, im speaking for pre-built PC's such as mine)

• PC automatically optimizes and sets itself up, the tinkering is entirely optional & you can download/install games and play them right away. its 2026, PC's has come a long way and does all the heavy lifting, it's not the days of old anymore.

• Weve have been in the era of diminishing returns going as far back as the PS4 era. It's already a well known fact that the majority of PC players are playing on low end to mid hardware; you do not have to upgrade your PC as much anymore, arguably less than buying a new console at this point. console is more expensive than PC in the longrun on pretty much every facet all the while providing significantly less value

This show is for fans of nu-god of war , not the original.

• Superior hardware & power, very flexible options and features to tailor your experience just how you want it with no limitations; want to play god of war with an xbox controller? want to play halo with a dualsense? want to play some nintendo games with a keyboard and mouse? Want to play on your TV in big picture mode? Want to add extra to the game you’re playing with mods? PC has it all. There’s so much freedom & customization with PC it’s ridiculous. Not to mention access to playstation and xbox networks & gamepass but with FREE online. I thought i’d be the last person to ever get on PC but it was perfect timing for me as pc is easier than ever to get into now and i only use a controller, i dont have to use keyboard and mouse, PC will work with virtually anything that you plug into it that has buttons - even a toy.

• You don’t own any games anymore regardless as any updates you download could block access to the game & most discs don’t contain the full game on it. you buy physical and still have to install and download updates whereas digital bypasses that. Also, there is a thing called external storage, i have plenty of digital games on my USB stick and External SSD. i rather have games stored on a single memory device vs junky game cases/DVDs that could get damaged, lost, or stolen. Digital is also extremely convenient; i couldn’t care less about holding a DVD in my hands, man.

Also i just want to add that having 2 windows open with a running game and an adjacent window with NFL games showing all on one screen is the coolest thing ever. I can play games and watch videos at the same time! can’t do that on console. I could even run multiple games for example, while i’m matchmaking in an online game i’ll just tab out and play another game until a match is found with my main game.

i’ve been wanting to hook my ps3 up again and buy more hidden gems on its digital store, but just havent had time so i’ve just been playing some marvel rivals here and there

it is my fix after all for a series i used to love that was killed by blizzard

what a shame, Xbox had the potential to surpass playstation. Xbox in the past was known for having better hardware (OG xbox, not 360), better software, controller, and a better network functionality and they squandered it all for TV, kinect, & always online. While it’s cool that some exclusives are being shared these days, i do miss when there was a reason to own all 3 brands. now its just been PC and PS5 for me (my switch is dormant) and let me tell you - pc really is the future! all exclusives on one machine to play with any controller i want and free online on powerful hardware is a godsend
