One rumour floating around in relation to GTA 6 is that physical copies of the PS5 title will not arrive until 2027 in order to avoid leaks prior to release.
That claim has now been debunked by Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick: "That's not the plan," he said in a new interview with Variety. As part of today's financial call, the company also shared it's still on course to put out GTA 6 in November 2026.
Last week, a Polish website claimed GTA 6 would launch as a digital-only title at launch to avoid leaks before release, through copies distributed before the street date. The rumour apparently came from a "trusted" source, but it's now been officially shot down.
It looks like Rockstar Games plans to make GTA 6 available both physically and digitally on 19th November 2026.

I'll believe it when I have it in my hand
I mean, most people thought that would have a dumb idea (even if it's for spoilers), glad to see it being put to rest.
I will be playing day one then. Unless the postman bunks off to play it himself 🤣
It's not even April
Lmfao I predict physical will be more expensive than digital.
I think what they meant is that because they game is so big, it will take till 2027 to fully install from the disc
Good news!…if the full game is on disc(s). If not, this is literally irrelevant since it would be a digital release masquerading behind the lie of being a physical release anyway.
Just give us 60FPS on Pro.
Good news everyone 😁 big event for myself as an older gamer, by the time gta7 comes out I'll probably be riddled with arthritis 😂
He said the physical copies won't be delayed.
Because there won't be any to delay. Kekw
Plot twist - only part of the game is on the disc and the rest won't be available to download until release day.
I think they wouldn't want to miss that "200 million copies sold" on release day type record.
It was a stupid theory in the first place.
Removed - unconstructive feedback
Great now I don't have to mark GTA 6 off my list.
