The Division: Definitive Edition PS4 1

Without any official Ubisoft announcements or marketing push, The Division: Definitive Edition has quietly gone live on the PS Store as of today. It's available now for £44.99 / $49.99, but it quickly becomes clear why there has not been any excitement from the publisher about the release.

As suspected, this new Definitive Edition of the game is only for PS4 — there's no native PS5 version, meaning it doesn't have any graphical enhancements. Instead, it's essentially just a complete edition where the base game is bundled with its three DLC packs and an assortment of cosmetic extras.

A Gold Edition of The Division has been available for years now on PS4, and this edition simply builds on that with some additional outfits and items.

The Division: Definitive Edition PS4 2

"All three season pass expansions are included in this edition, adding new modes, challenges, and ways to fight for New York," the PS Store description reads. "The Definitive Edition also includes gear sets, weapon skins, and customization options, everything you need to stand out as an elite agent."

The base PS4 game is on PS Plus Extra, so you can still try the original experience out through the subscription service. If you're playing on PS5, then there are at least some minor enhancements when played on the current-gen console via backwards compatibility. It was patched in December to run at 60 frames-per-second.

For the future of the franchise, there is a The Division 3 in the works, though it hasn't been officially unveiled with any footage yet. Are you still interested in more looting and shooting from this series? Let us know in the comments below.
