Thats a bit dissapointing, but DF has a video out for the Pro so Iโm not worried about performance. It seems like a big and beautiful world with great freedom but the rest seems lacking a bit. 79 on metacritic is good, but maybe not good enough to be a day 1 game.
This looks like a bit of fun, but it would have to be in an arcade hall with the bikes and not a game to play at home me thinks. Unless you get the machine fpr your private arcade hall of course
I'm basically waiting to see if Crimson Desert is a day 1 for me so I'm not starting any new and big right now. I watched The Digital Foundry video on the ps5 pro and the game looks ridiculously fantastic, its almost hard to believe. But looks arent everything so I'll wait for some reviews but I'll probably dive right in nect week ๐
As for what I've been playing then
Thief VR - I've finished the missions (and story), and really liked playing them. Its a pretty short game, but priced lower, and its built around replayability of the missions so you can get all challenges and such if you like. There is a story but that lost me pretty early and as I wrote last week, I would have loved for them to make it more like a traditional single player Thief game with but then its not an AAA game in that sense. Still, its fun and plays and looks good where it really matters, the missions!
Star Wars Outlaws DLC - I found the DLC was on a sale, so I picked it up and jumped in, starting with Wild Card which I finished last night. I loved this game when it released, imo its a bit overlooked, and it feels great to jump back in. I did a new game to get to play the opening of the game again, which I really enjoy and the gameplay improvements for the stealth sections really makes a difference, and then started the DLC. The first one was pretty good, looking forward to the A Pirates Fortune DLC which Iโm starting today! Still love this game ๐
I actually loved the game back when it released (after some patches) and replayed it again a few years back after we went on a trip to Paris. Iยดve revisited the game after this update and it looks great, but I dont think I'll do yet another full playthrough. I'll probably pop in now and then to take in the sights though
We'ev been on a skiing trip for most of the week, I brought the Portal so I managed to play a little at least while away and decided to pick up Thief VR yesterday ๐
First though, I must yet again say that the Portal is amazing and the choice between connecting to your PS5 or play plus games via Cloud is great and both work very well given you have a stable connection. Played some favorite games for a bit and Iโm still impressed at how well they run and look on the Portal, but I also played:
Mindseye trial - I've been curious about how bad this game can be, and after about 45 min of the trial I can say its very bad. Mostly because it was marketed as a AAA game but its more like an indie A game. Very generous of the developer to let us try their disastrous game without any extra cost (on ps plus). Try it for yourselves ๐
Thief VR I got this yesterday so I've only played the first two missions but I really like it, it looks and plays good and that thief-feeling is very cool in VR. What I would have liked is some more narrative and cutscenes or something binding the missions together a bit better, now its like they are instances with some chatter between your character and an NPC but I guess thats because its built so you can easily replay the missions when done and get rankings and fulfill objectives etc but I would have loved for it to be more... like a normal single player game I guess. You could have replayability of the missions anyway. Still, I like what I've played and I'm looking forward to more ๐
AC Shadows - Claws of Awaji - I've finished the story content, which was very good and I really enjoyed returning to this game, its awesome imo. Its also story content I feel everyone who finished the game should play, without spoling anything ๐
Marathon Server Slam - I've played 5-6 rounds and its not a bad game by any means, the gameplay, movement, gun handling and that is very good which is to be expected but then the rest is not as good, UI is a mess and I dont really see myself playing a game like this for very long as I just dont see what would keep me invested in the long run. But its early days and that might change, Im not getting it at release though, but maybe down the line. We'll see.
Other than that, not much gaming this week and next week we're on a skiing trip so I'll be on the Portal but havent decided what to play yet. Hope you all have some tips for me ๐
A bit of shocking gaming news yesterday with both Spencer and Bond departing Xbox and the boss of AI taking over. Not sure if thats a good thing but time will tell i guess. Anyway, the games we've been playing is why we are here so:
High on life 2 - I've finished the game and I had a blast playing it. There are some very hilarious moments in various missions that had me laughing out loud (of course, its subjective but still). Im also impressed with how different the missions are, not all are brilliant but many are really cool imo. The only complaint I have is that the end part of the game could have been a bit better as it dragged on a bit but other than that, it was a very fun game imo, however its not a five star game without flaws and its certainly not for everyone just so you know. Perfect game to be on a service though ๐
AC Shadows - Claws of Awaji - I havent really decided what to play next but remembered that I hadnt played Claws of Awaji yet. After a bit of a struggle remembering the controls (I actually managed to die more than once... wtf!) Im back to enjoying this awesome game again. Love it. Its really beautiful and it plays really well, also love to switch between the different playstyles of Yasuke and Naoe. Going to enjoy this revisit ๐
Loved the first one, except for maybe the difficulty spikes. Still, got the platinum even if I was a crying mental case in the end ๐ฑ๐ not going theough that againโฆ
I've finished and platinumed Fallout 4 since last week, and I've enjoyed it more than I expected. Part of that is that it finally runs good with 60 fps and no lag or super long loading times, it was pretty bad on og ps4 when the save files got big. I also played the Far Harbour DLC, which was very good. Last time around I had to give up due to the suffering it put my poor ps4 through. Now I'm really hoping the next Fallout game focuses more on the story and side missions and exploration, which are the strong points of the game imo. Also hoping we'll get the remasters of Fallout 3 and NV sooner rather than later so I can get lost in the Wasteland again ๐
High on Life 2 - We've resubbed to Game Pass Ultimate as me and my son both wanted to play this and he also wants to play Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar so I figured its worth a month or two of GPU. Anyway, the game seems pretty good avtually, I'm not far in but I've gotten the skateboard which makes gameplay more fun, the art style is great and the humor is more of the same which is also good (although very dependant on your kind of humor). The performance on the Series S isnt the best though, its not a stable 60 fps but close, but the image is very blurry and glitchy etc and its annoying. Still, the game is fun and the FPS is stable enough to make the game enjoyable so I'll stick with this version ๐
Spiderman 2 and Neva are both really, really good! Iโll try Test Drive but I dont really expect it to be any goodโฆ and to think thats not even the full line up is pretty great!
Except for trying the Pragmata demo, which is very promising but I'm a bit concerned the hacking while fighting gets old fast, I've paused all other games and only been focusing on:
Fallout 4 - I've been continuing my journey through the wasteland and I'm a bit surprised that I'm enjoying it as much as I do, given the the game suffers from a couple of flaws and imo is weaker than 3 and NV. I think one obvious part of that is that exploring the wasteland is awesome, but also that I dont remember all the details of the story or the different factions, and I have forgotten many of the side quests too and some of them are pretty good and that makes it all feel fresh. I'm at the end of the main story/stories (doing all the endings, then the platinum) but I havent decided which end to stick with. Probably BoS ๐
Liked the demo a lot, only minor concern is if the fighting gets old after a while if you constantly need to hack enemies before shooting but other than that it was great!
Resildent Evil Village - Despite my weak heart and tiny balls I managed to finish the game ๐ Thank ***** it didnt get worse than House Beneviento as that would have been to much for me... its very hard to play games and hide behind a pillow at the same time ๐ Very happy it dropped on Plus so I could give it a go, very good game and I enjoyed it a lot despite some near heart attacks and such!
I've also given both Arknights Endfield and Highguard a fair try but neither of them is really good enough to be worth my time. They're both pretty okayish games though, so others may like them better than me. Highguard has some potential but for my own part they would need to make some big changes to get me back, the gunplay and worldbuilding was nice though.
Fallout 4 - Watching the show made me want to play Fallout 3 or New Vegas but since the remasters/remakes seems to be years away, I decided to play Fallout 4 instead as I've only played it once before. Its the weakest of the three imo but its nice to play the ps5 version, 60 fps makes the gunplay a lot better and its still great to explore the Wasteland and all that but I also remember why I only played it once. Feels like the first real step in the wrong direction for Bethesda. Hopefully Fallout 5 and Elder Scrolls 6 will be ***** awesome and that they've learned their lesson with this and Starfield. But, I'll finish Fallout 4 and might even go for the platinum ๐
I enjoyed the first two, but Legion wasnt very good so kind of expected they'd drop the series. Kind of sad, had they gone back to the first game and built on that idea it could have been good.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Finished the Phantom Liberty DLC, which is very good imo, chose two for me new endings and picked the one where you basically go back to Night City and continue from where you were before you went to Dogtown, which was pretty neat as I got to finish the game of with my favorite ending with Panam. As I've said so many times before, this is such an awesome game despite some flaws imo and one of my all time favorites. Probably not the last time I do a full playthrough either ๐
Resident Evil Village - Perfect game to drop on Plus for me, been close to buying it several times but I've been unsure if I have the balls to play it so figured I'd wait. And thankfully, its not as scary as I feared meaning my tiny balls can handle it, and on top of that its very good. Iยจve met and defeated the tall lady it was so much fuss about some years ago (cant say much about that, I'm all over Panam so... ๐). Looking forward to continuing the game. But I'm not ***** playing it in VR, that would be the end of me....
Far Cry Blood Dragon - when I need a breather from Resi 8 I've been playing Blood Dragon. The new 60 fps patch was a great excuse to revisit this classic, which has aged a bit but its still very good imo and I like the old school humor in it.
I really do want to play this remake but its getting increasingly difficult to keep the hopes up itยดll ever get released giving how things are going. Its at least an AC game which is a priority for them but damn its been a lot of cancelations lately...
Iโve been playing a few different games this past week instead of focusing on one or two games. I think its mostly because Iโve already finished my current โmainโ game and feel a need to switch things up a bit moreโฆ Anyway, the games:
Cyberpunk 2077 Iโm now in Dogtown, and the Phantom Liberty dlc is really good imo. Love going from a story mission to doing some gigs to a nice date with Panam ๐ CD project har really added some nice small bits and things to do over the years. As I said last week, one of my favorite games ever!
Epic Mickey Rebrushed - Never played this back in the day, so didnt know what to expect. Its about good enough to keep me playing it but not that much more.
Subside PSVR2 - this is pretty good. Looks great, its immersive and fun. Great combo!
Pirates VR Jolly Roger - it was cheap, ok? All this talk about the Black Flag remake made me want to be a pirate again. This game does let me be a pirate sure, but its pretty bad so Iโll probably drop it and wait for Black Flag instead ๐
NHL 25 - visited a mate a while back and after some beers we always end up playing some NHL game and I got my ass kicked which usually doesnt happen so Iโm secretly going to practice a bit until next time we meet and then Iโll crush him ๐
Mafia The Old Country - so I picked this up a week and a half ago and I've finished the story which I really enjoyed and I'm now finishing up the last few trophys for the platinum. The game is a bit on the slower side which I dont really mind, I found the voice acting and the setting to be really good, the game looks great and the recently added free ride mode gives some extra things to do. Overall a really good game imo.
Cyberpunk 2077 - again?? well... yeah Met an old mate of mine over a beer recently who had just finished the game for the first time and was lyrical about it so I was hit by a strong desire to start a new game and finish the main story and then replay Phantom Liberty which I've "only" played once. And it feels really awesome to be back in Night City, sure its not a perfect game and there are some missed opportunities but I just love it. One of my all time favorites
Dispatch - finished and platinumed! Such a good game, really enjoyed pretty much everything about it and playing through the different choices felt rewarding. Looking forward to what they do next!
Now with Christmas coming I'll be spending less time playing games and more time with family and friends so I wont start anything new for a while, which is nice timing as I dont know what I want to play next. Hoping to get some inspiration from all the comments here ๐
Red Dead Redemption PS5 - I've been wanting to replay RDR for a while so the PS5 version dropping on Plus meant it was time to grab the hat and get on the horse again. Its not the most impressive remaster but it gives me the best version of the game and its still a very good game, however after maybe 5-6 hours I just felt like I had my fill. I remember much of the game and this version adds nothing new and its not a remake either so.... I can always pop in now and then and for a short while, maybe play a round of poker, so I'll take this sweet stroll down memory lane and ride off in to the sunset!
Dispatch - after all the great reviews and comments from you all about the game I just couldnt wait any longer. I've finished my first playthrough late last night and its a really, really good game. The graphics style, humor, feeling etc is top notch. Maybe the actual dispatching and hacking got a bit tedious towards the end but I cant wait to start over and make some other choices. Very good game, very nice to see this kind of game be successful ๐
Dying Light: the Beast - been pretty much playing only this which means quite a few hours so I've managed to finish and platinum it, and I've really, really enjoyed it. Its not quite as good as the first, and its not without its flaws, but the combination of all its parts makes it a really good game. It was all I hoped for and more, which is probably why I got so obsessed with it., Fun gameplay, combat, exploration and story and some good side missions and a sprinkle of goofiness made this great fun!
LEGO Horizon adventures - been playing with my daughter and we're having fun. It looks amazing, gameplay is decent and a great game to play with a kid but not something I would play by myself much as its a bit simple and repetetive but weยดll se how long she wants to keep playing - hopefully we can finish it!
Next up I'll try the Red Dead Redemption remaster ๐
Dying Light:the Beast - and I'm really enjoying it. Its obvious it started as a DLC as the map is smaller compared to the other games. Its not as good as the first game imo, but I like it quite a bit more than the second and Iโm having a blast playing it. For me its one of those 7/10 games that is just so much fun to play I totally overlook some minor flaws here and there. Story is fine, side missions are varied, exploration is fun, parkouring is great, being out at night is scary as ***** especially when the volatiles come for you and popping zombie heads is awesome ๐
As a lapsed Destiny player Iยดm interested in Destiny 3 but I really hope they can learn from their mistakes and make it a better experience over time!
Alan Wake 2 - finished and platinumed! I'm very happy with myself that I decided to play this even though horror/scary games are really not my thing anymore ๐ Ended up really, really enjoying this game! Almost started a new game plus immediately after finishing (you'll get why) but decided that would take to long and my curiousity was killing me so I watched some YouTube videos instead ๐ Very well written story imo!
Thank goodness youre here - been waiting for this to drop on plus, so very happy it finally did! Its brilliant, so fun and so worth a playthrough. Finished and platinumed in about 3 hours maybe, brilliant game ๐
The Crew Motorfest - so I left it with some trophies unpopped, one was an online trophy and it was a bit of a pain finding games and more importantly filling them with enough players as the trophy requires you to destroy three opponents in one game but with the game being on Gamepass there was suddenly new players so I finally got that trophy and then the platinum, so that was nice! Very good game imo!
Dying light: the Beast - picked it up in the sale. Loved the first but not the second so was a bit hesitant about this until I watched TheRadBrad play it on YT praising it and saying it was a lot more like the first game than the second. I'm only like 1-2 hours in but is seems very promising so far ๐
Iยดll be very surprised if Clair Obscure doesnt scoop most awards its nominated in, despite some good competition its just in a class of its own in so many categories!
CoD Blops 7 - I was looking forward to a good CoD campaign, especially after last years Blops 6 that was great, but had completely missed that this year had some twist to the campaign - its online, co-op forced utter garbage that basically cant be played solo as you get no AI companions to fill empty spots so they are there on the radio and in the cutscenes but vanishes during actual gameplay. This was so ***** bad I uninstalled the ***** before even finishing the first mission since I had to take a quick break cause kids and when I got back I had gotten kicked to the start screen and would have to restart the whole thing since there are no checkpoints... ๐ Havent touched the mp so that might be good. I'll stick with Battlefield 6!
Battlefield 6 - so, I got the platinum!! ๐ Enjoying this game so much, I can see myself playing it regurlarly for a long time!
Alan Wake 2 - really been enjoying this one too! I've had some moments where I've felt my heart skip a beat but its on a level I can handle which is nice since the game is really good. Closing in on the last few chapters, hopefully finishing the game over the weekend. The We sing chapter was pretty epic!
The Outer Worlds 2 - so I've already finished the game! It took me about 17 hours, I expected it to be longer but then I didnt do much of the side content so theres probably a couple of hours of content I havent played. I had a lot of fun with the game and its a pretty big improvement all around from the first game imo. Lots of different ways to play and build your character and many different solutions to problems during missions etc which is really great and important in a game like this. So all in all I'm impressed and really enjoyed the game!
Alan Wake 2 - So I've surprised myself by choosing to play this, and again by not quitting at the first scare. Cant really handle scary ***** anymore ๐ but this is more creepy and less scary imo so maybe I can get through this... a couple of hours in and so far its really good!
Ghost of Yotei - Finished and platinumed. Loved this game! The gorgeous world, the soundtrack, the gameplay, the story - even got some dust in my eye at the ending but then I had a window open so...... Brilliant game imo! Its a game Iยดll be returning to every now and then and just take in the atmosphere and views and play the shamisen for a bit!
Battlefield 6 - having a blast with it and will for a long time. I even enjyed the campaign, but its no where near as good as a good CoD-campaign. Iยดve done all the trophies except the grindy ones, which will take me a long time to get and Iยดll enjoy every game along the way. Feels great to have a good Battlefield game again.
The Outer Worlds 2 - about 3 hours in an Im impressed, both with the game itself which is good fun so far and that it runs as good as it does on my poor old series S so I dont feel any need to get this on my Pro instead which is nice since we have GPU until december I think. (I should have finished bith this and the upcoming CoD campaign by then.)
Ghost of Yotei - I'm loving this game. There are some epic moments in the story imo, and I'm closing in on the end. I've done all the side content and collectibles etc so now I can just enjoy the rest of the story ๐
Battlefield 6 - Very fun to play, impressed with how Dice could turn things around from 2042 and it feels like this will be a game I play regularly for a long time. I plan to play the single player campaign, I'll update you when I do ๐
Keeper - So, this game has so much potential but after playing for 20 minutes I feel like my Series S isnt really delivering the best experience and I want to enjoy this game at its best so I'll wait and see if it doesnt show up on PS5 in the future.
Also- I just wishlisted Halo for my PS5. We knew it was coming but still feels a bitโฆ wierd?โฆ seeing Halo on playstation. Anyway, that will probably be ***** awesome!
Ghost of Yotei - loving this game, its just so much fun to play! The open world, apart from being absolutely stunning, really invites exploration and I constantly get sidetracked in a good way and the combat is good and imo its just as fun to play stealthy as it is to just openly challenge the enemies. Soundtrack is also very good! Currently hunting the Kitsune ๐
Battlefield 6 - so, my plan was to wait for this to be in a deep sale at least before buying it (didnt want to support EAs new owners) but then some friends I played a LOT of Battlefield 4 and Destiny with reached out and wanted to get the crew together again and I simply couldnt resist. So, despite giving EA and co my money which leaves just a little sour taste in my mouth (apart from the small chunk going to the actual people who made the game, you are absolutely worth giving money too) weยดve had som much fun playing multiplayer. Its really the best Battlefield since 4 imo, looks and plays great and I cant wait to play more, especially awesome when you have a good squad ๐

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 619
Re: Try Pragmata's Hack-and-Shoot Action in Playable Demo, Available Now on PS5
Liked the demo a lot, only minor concern is if the fighting gets old after a while if you constantly need to hack enemies before shooting but other than that it was great!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 618
Its been a bit of a mixed bag since last week
Re: Rumour: PS Portal OLED Version Coming This Year
iยดll stick with my og Portal, its amazing even without OLED
Re: Ubisoft May Have Put Watch Dogs Down for Good
I enjoyed the first two, but Legion wasnt very good so kind of expected they'd drop the series. Kind of sad, had they gone back to the first game and built on that idea it could have been good.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 617
played since last week
Re: Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Remake Reportedly Delayed by Up to a Year
I really do want to play this remake but its getting increasingly difficult to keep the hopes up itยดll ever get released giving how things are going. Its at least an AC game which is a priority for them but damn its been a lot of cancelations lately...
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 616
NHL 25 - visited a mate a while back and after some beers we always end up playing some NHL game and I got my ass kicked which usually doesnt happen so Iโm secretly going to practice a bit until next time we meet and then Iโll crush him ๐
Re: Sony Nukes Thousands of Shovelware Games from PS5, PS4
*****, thats a lot of platinums Im missing out on....
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 615
Re: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes (PS5) - Streamlined But Still Fantastic Sci-Fi Fun
Getting tempted to revisit Pandora soon ๐
Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' Top 20 PS5 Games of 2025
2025 was a year of many really good games, and my top two games are the same as yours ๐ hope 2026 can be an awesome year for gaming as well!
Re: Game of the Year: #5 - Dispatch
Great game, cant wait to see whats next for the developer ๐
Re: Game of the Year: Aaron's Top 5 PS5 Games of 2025
Sweet, its time for lists again ๐
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 612
Hoping to get some inspiration from all the comments here ๐
Happy Holidays!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 611
Re: Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow (PSVR2) - A Disappointingly Thin Dishonored-Lite
I had some hopes for this I might get it in a deeeeep sale when its patched (hopefully) as Iยดm a fan om the early Thief-games but yeah...
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 610
Basically the same as last week;
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 609
This past week I've focused on
Dying Light:the Beast - and I'm really enjoying it.
Re: Destiny 3 Allegedly in 'Extremely Early Development', Could Be a Tentpole Title for PS6
As a lapsed Destiny player Iยดm interested in Destiny 3 but I really hope they can learn from their mistakes and make it a better experience over time!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 608
Update since last week ๐
Have a great weekend
Re: Talking Point: The Game Awards 2025 Nominations Announced - Who Are Your Winners?
Iยดll be very surprised if Clair Obscure doesnt scoop most awards its nominated in, despite some good competition its just in a class of its own in so many categories!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 607
Played since last week ๐
Have a great weekend!
Re: Hands On: Where Winds Meet PS5 Is Vast, Visionary, and on the Verge of Collapse
Im very interested but it sounds like its worth to wait a few months before comitting to it. Iยดll try it on release though!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 606
Played since last week ๐
And of course Battlefield 6 in between ๐
Happy gaming!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 605
Update since last week ๐
Happy gaming!
Re: Random: Fans Can't Believe Halo Is Coming to PS5 Before Killzone
Would love more Killzone and/or Resistance. Please Sony ๐ฅฒ
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 604
Update since last week
Re: Halo Confirmed for PS5, Remake of First Game Out in 2026
Sweet, wishlisted and waiting ๐ bit wierd Seeing Halo on playstation but itโll be awesome I hope!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 603
Played since last week ๐
