Zelda - echoes of wisdom - Its really a special feeling to play a new Zelda game ๐Ÿ™‚ Been on a family vacation and the switch is just perfect to bring! I really enjoy the game, love the visuals and that its a top down view, brings me back to LttP ๐Ÿ™‚ it is however, imho, a bit heavy on the echoes focus and it feels to gimmicky. Need a bridge or a tower to climb on, build it from gravity defying beds. Need to heal during a boss fight, make a bed and sleep in it between boss attacks... But its a minor complaint really! Now we're back home Im thinking about pausing it until next trip, we'll see.

Jusant - wanted a relaxing game on the ps5 in between other games and this is perfect for that!

Hope you all are enjoying the holidays! Finished some games, tried some games and started a game Ive been looking forward to ๐Ÿ™‚

Indy - finished it earlier in the week and loved it! It had a good story and fun gameplay (stealth being a bit of a weak point imo) and exploration and most importantly it felt like a great adventure! I can see myself double dip for this game and get it on the ps5 when on a sale ๐Ÿ™‚

Behemoth PSVR2 - also finished, and platinumed, which meant playing it twice. Ive enjoyed the game a lot, I like the setting and the fighting and the boss fights are pretty cool. The game could use more polish though, some minor bugs squashed and improvement to controls would be welcome. My own review score? A weak 4 out of 5, but of you are unsure of you like this kind of game wait for a sale or a demo/trial ๐Ÿ™‚

โ€‹Forspoken - Been giving it a couple of hours, but decided to drop it. Its not a bad game, but its not a good one either and I didnt feel like it was worth my time, at least not right now.

โ€‹Sonic frontiers - Didnt click for me, again not a bad game just not for me.

Zelda - echoes of wisdom - Its really a special feeling to play a new Zelda game ๐Ÿ™‚ Currently on a family vacation and I basically just started playing but I feel like I will enjoy it ๐Ÿ™‚

Bit of a boring update as Im still playing the same games as last weekend, however I did end up getting a ps5 pro. The games first ๐Ÿ™‚

Indy - Love this game. Really hits that big adventure feeling Iโ€™ve missed since the last Uncharted and Tomb Raider games. Great story, great sense of exploration and discovery. Cant wait to play more!

Behemoth PSVR 2 - Im in the last part of the game I think. The third part of the game wasnt as good as the first two imo but its picking up again in the fourth part. Its still a bit buggy at times and controls could be a bit more precise, but its still very fun to play imo. Dual wielding and axe and a sword at the moment, both of which you can throw and retrieve Kratos style. Pretty awesome! But, I would still recommend waiting for some patches and probably a sale!

Ps5 pro - so, I got the โ€perfect excuseโ€ to get one as the kids have been playing on my old Ps4 which is now starting to give up it feels like. First I thought Id get them a ps5 slim but then I thought its not that much more for a pro and they can have my ps5. So everyone wins, right? ๐Ÿ˜ I gotta say Im pretty happy with the pro and the improvements to the games thats got a pro patch, especially for the first party games. It looks amazing in performance pro mode ๐Ÿคฉ
Now, I just need a better TV and it just so happens that we need a new one in the cabinโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Since I decided to drop Stalker 2 until its in better condition Iโ€™ve been trying to find something a bit shorter to play since Im waiting for games coming in december (Behemoth and Indy for example) and dont want to be stuck in a big game. Ive played some Beyong good & evil but its not really doing it for me, and some other games I didnt really like but then I picked up:

Neva - Absolutely loved this game! Its from the developer that made Gris which is pretty evident when playing, in a good way. Neva is a very beautiful game, with another great soundtrack from Berlinist. If you liked
Gris and/or enjoy these types of games you really need to play this! I might have to double dip on the ps4 version right away, its that good ๐Ÿ™‚

Finished some great games since last week

HZD remaster - So I've finished and platinumed this awesome game again. Loved it ๐Ÿคฉ

CoD Blops 6 - finished the campaign and enjoyed it a lot. Very nice to have a good CoD campaign after the last few really ***** ones.

And I've started Stalker 2. Im a bit torn about this game. On one hand Im enjoying it and really like this kind of game and on the other hand its really rough. Playing on the Series S isnt helping... but it isnt just the technical and buggy side of things it also feels like the game wont last me very long since the story is already lost on me and it then becomes very repetetive playing the almost same things over and over. Still, will keep playing since there are some good parts but I might not keep playing for 40ish hours to finish it on its current state.

Re: Star Wars Outlaws PS5 Does Away with Forced Stealth in Major Update

mac_da_man

I for one really enjoyed the game, stealth sections and flaws and all. In a way the stealth sections where you had to restart from a checkpoint made some sense from a story perspective since you werent supposed to be caught but it was badly implemented. But I guess this change is easier, and makes the game more fun to play.

Feels like a lot of people ***** on this game for reasons other than what the game is. If youยดve played it and found its not for you, fair enough!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 555

Max Mustard VR - finished and platinumed. Enjoyed it, even if its not perfect and really makes me want Astro in VR its worth checking out!

HZD remaster - Im really enjoying playing through this gorgeous game again. Love it! Still makes my jaw drop at times and I find myself just standing still and enjoying the views.

CoD Blops 6 - enjoying the campaign. As campaigns go its the best since the 2019 MW reboot but not as good as the old MW 1-3 or some of the other older campaigns imo. Still, maybe theres hope for future CoD campaigns ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 554

HZD remaster - such a gorgeous game! So, turns out ng+ on an imported save messes some trophies up so started fresh which was annoying at first but it lets me enjoy it all again so now Im kind of happy about that ๐Ÿ™‚ love spending time in this world!

CoD Blops 6 - playing the campaign, which Im enjoying. Best in many years! Doesnt run perfect on the Series S but good enough.

Max Mustard VR - about two thirds in, its not perfect but good fun!

Dont have the balls for the new Metro VR which looks awesome so kind of dissapointed in myself ๐Ÿ˜…

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 553

Dead Island 2 - finished the story ealier in the week but was having so much fun I decided to go for the platinum as I didnt have that much left anyway. Very fun game, very fun platinum ๐Ÿ™‚

Max Mustard VR - still very fun, the camera isnt the best and the checkpoints can be a bit far apart but other than that its a good game ๐Ÿ™‚

Horizon ZD remaster - love this game! Its a very nice upgrade and the game looks amazing. Been wanting to replay it for a long time so this is perfect for me ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 552

Currently on a family trip for a few days, Im surprised playing on my Portal is working as good as it is given we are far from home. Very happy with that ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Anyways, the games:

GRIS - finished and platinumed. Really enjoyed this game, or experience is perhaps a more fitting description as even though its a platformer of sorts its all about the journey, the amazing visuals, the soundtrack, the emoitions... I was late to this but very happy it dropped on plus so I got to play it, might have missed it otherwise!

Dead Island 2 - Im having a lot of fun with this game, and Im one or two missions from finishing the story. Sure, its not perfect and things like fighting four zombies that look exactly the same breaks the immersion totally but the game doesnt take it self to seriously so I can overlook things like that based on the most important thing for a game like this, its really fun!

Max Mustard PSVR2 Pretty much stumbled on this game and after watching a review on YT I got it. Glad I did, Im enjoying it a lot. It reminds me of playing Astro Bot Rescue Mission, but its not as good. Still, if we cant have Astro in VR (seriously Sony, shape the ***** up already) this will help fill the void!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 551

mac_da_man

The Plucky Squire - Im finished and I got the platinum. Overall I enjoyed the game, especially the 3d parts and some fun puzzles but the pacing and over explaining of everything was not great. If we get a sequel I would love for them to improve those things!

Dead Island 2 - Figured Iโ€™d give this a fair shot. Its not Dying Light but its pretty fun so far. Will keep playing, at least until some big games start dropping by the end of the month.

Gris - Decided to try it, seems like it could be a nice experience but only just started it. I usually like these kinds of games so high hopes ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 550

Some games finished and one started since last week

Astro Bot - Its done, and I got the platinum. I feel like everything has already been said about this game, simply amazing! The last challenge level took me some a couple of runs (many) but it made it even more satisfying when I made it and the last trophies poped ๐Ÿคฉ

Termintor Resistance enhanced - also finished and platinum. Very good AA game, great Terminator feeling and nice tie ins with the first two movies.

the Plucky Squire - very nice and cosy game, especially in the 3D bits, but it has some gameplay mechanics and a pace that takes away from the other really good stuff. Still, enjoying it ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 549

mac_da_man

Astro Bot - still makes me smile every second I play this amazing game. Just a few levels and some trophies left now ๐Ÿฅฒ

Road 96 - finished and platinumed. Some good bits and an interesting game where you play as different teenagers meeting the same people over different chapters where each chapter is one teenagers journey to Road 96. Enjoyed it quite a bit overall but its not Life is Strange good.

Terminator Resistance Enhanced - recently watched Terminator 1&2 (great movies) with the son and when I saw the game on sale I had to get it. Its fun in an old school kind of way, dont need to things too much and blasting T-800s are great. Playing it reminds me of playing Fallout but without VATS, and mutants andโ€ฆ still, not a bad thing and I will continue to enjoy this game later this evening ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 548

Since last week

Star Wars Outlaws - finished and platinumed, really enjoyed this game. Sure, it has its flaws but on the whole I found it to be a great game. The Star Wars feeling is top notch. Would love a sequel but thatโ€™s not likely to happen sadly.

Stellar Blade - Did a new game + playthrough for the platinum, focusing only on the main missions. What an awesome game this is, love it!

Astro Bot - just finished the third world, or galaxy, or whatever, taking my sweet time and enjoying every second of it. Such an amazing game, my all time favorite 3d platformer and I havenโ€™t even finished it yet ๐Ÿ˜Š

Road 96 - Wanted to try this given the Life is Strange vibes I got from it, and even if its imo far from LiS level good so far the game has that something thatโ€™s got me wanting more.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 547

mac_da_man

Pretty much the same as last week

Star Wars Outlaws - still really enjoying this game. I think Im getting close to the end of the story so Im gonna mop up some trophies and get that platinum as well ๐Ÿ™‚

Astro Bot - Amazing! The game just has fantastic level after fantastic level! Love it ๐Ÿคฉ

The Plucky Squire - had to try it for a bit, seems very good but itโ€™ll have to wait. Need to finish the games above first ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 546

mac_da_man

Star Wars Outlaws - really enjoying this game, flaws and all. Love exploring, doing side content, space battles and of course Sabacc. The Star Wars feeling is great, to bad there are some bad gamedesign choices, dumb AI etc otherwise it would be a better overall experience but its still a solid 8/10 for me.

Astro Bot - simply amazing! Taking my time with it, dont want it to end!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 545

mac_da_man

A couple of games started and/or tried since last week ๐Ÿ™‚

Astro Bot - Holy hell this is going to be an awesome game, Iโ€™ve had a big smile on my face every second Iโ€™ve been playing ๐Ÿคฉ Its like a dream combo of Sackboy and Mario but better! Amazing!

Star Wars Outlaws - I was really on the fence about this game but after reading a lot of reviews and watching some videos I decide to get it and I must say Im really enjoying it and having a lot of fun. The Star Wars feeling is great, love running around different settlements and cities, cantinas etc and taking it all in. Nixx is a nice companion, I like that hes more than a cute dog/cat thing but is also useful when playing and solving some of the puzzles or how to open doors etc. Exloration is pretty standard but fun and rewarding, especially in space. The game also looks great imo. The gameplay however feels dated and like a big step backwards in many regards. Shooting isnt great, neither is stealth, AI is pretty stupid and has to be cause otherwise stealth would always fail, spacebattles feels good though and the story and missions are good enough. The cardgame Sabacc is great fun!

All in all I would probably give it a strong 7/10 or a weak 8/10 and can recommend it if you like these kind of games.

Harry Potter - Quidditch - a bit meh. Dont see myself spending too much time with this game. Maybe should have been a part of Hogwarts Legacy instead.

Space Trucker - Wanted a relaxing game but this isnt quite scratching that itch for me. Still, might make a delivery every now and then.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 544

Stellar Blade - Iยดve just finished my first playthrough, loved it in the end. Great game - good story and looks and plays very good. Love the art design of the world and the soundtrack, Sure Eves costumes are a bit cringe but I can live with that. Very much looking forward to a new game + playthrough but I think I will save that and play some other game first and also Astro Bot is just a few days away now ๐Ÿ˜Š

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 543

mac_da_man

Stellar Blade - Im just really, really enjoying this game and and its growing on me the more I play it, just great imo. I think Iยดm somewhere around two thirds in, maybe less. I like the variation of the different places and that there are new enemy types introduced at each place as well, and that you also get new abilities or attacks that keep things fresh!

TimeSplitters - Took a trip down memory lane, which was very nice. Read that trophies are coming for all three games, so going to wait for that before playing more. Nostalgia plays a big part for me here, will se how the games hold up once that fades a bit.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 542

mac_da_man

I've been focusing on Stellar Blade and I really, really enjoy this game. Looks and plays great, the story is good enough to keep me interested, love the soundtrack and some side missions are good. Think Im about one third in, doing everything. The game isnt perfect, but very fun so I can overlook some things... my only complaint is that there are too many ***** collectibles, and thats just because I want the Platinum trophy ๐Ÿ˜…

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 541

mac_da_man

Since last week Iโ€™ve mainly played:

Nobody wants to die - Really enjoyed this game! Its a bit slow at times perhaps but its a good story, great setting and pretty good puzzles/clues to solve. Its also pretty short so Iโ€™ve managed to finish and platinum it in about 5-6 hours. If you like these kinds of games I can really recommend it ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up is Stellar Blade ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 540

mac_da_man

Iโ€™ve not been in the mood for gaming much this last week! Iโ€™ve been watching the Olympics, some series, read a book etc. I picked up Nobody wants to die and tried it for 30 min or so and it seems great so Iโ€™ll dig into it properly soon. Also finished the campaign in The First Descendant so Iโ€™m now done with that game. Enjoyed it a lot more than I initially thought I would and it was fun playing with others in co-op. Still not really a good game ๐Ÿ˜…

After I finish Nobody wants to die I think its high time to play Stellar Blade ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 539

mac_da_man

After finishing Rise of the Ronin I felt I needed a bit of a break before playing the next "big" game which I think will be Stellar Blade but No one wants to die might slip in between. Will decide today or tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyways, I've been playing:

The first Descendant and Asphalt Legends Unite - both free to play, not the best games ever but suites my gaming mood for now.

Dungeons of Hinterberg - I've played for about an hour but its not what I hoped it would be. Might give it some more time but will likely drop it.

CoD MW 3 campaign - So yeah, MS finally drops a CoD on gp and its the worst game in the series ๐Ÿ˜’ The opening mission in the campaign is pretty good, its CoD as it should be, but then the open world missions that follows are not good at all and not what I want from a CoD game. Such a shame, would have been better to not have a campaign than this ***** imo. And ffs MS, release the older CoDs on gp already!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 538

mac_da_man

Rise of the Ronin - Finished and platinumed. First off, I had fun playing it the whole way through. However, I really do feel it was a bit too long and bloated and I think a shorter game would have had a better focus to the story and the side/bond missions could have been a lot fewer. Also, I could be best mate with someone, end up fighting him in a story mission and then after it was back to best mate again as if nothing happened. Would be normal maybe if we were piss drunk and had a brawl in the pub and didnt remember it the next day but yeah, made choices and bonds a bit wierd in the game. All in all I enjoyed the game a lot!

The First Descendant - yeah, Im still playing. Its grown on me a bit ๐Ÿ˜‚ but its still not very good...

Asphalt Legends Unite - Im just a sucker for free to play games right now. This is pretty fun mindless arcade racing if you can ignore all the ***** around the racing itself.

Neon White - played for a little bit. The courses are really fun and addicting to play and try and master but the rest Im just not paying any attention to.
