We’ve got a sneaking suspicion we know what you’re playing this weekend – does it, per chance, rhyme with “weevil”? Thought it might! Here’s your regularly scheduled WAYP.

I've been dying to get my hands on Marathon properly for a while, so this weekend, I'll be diving into the server slam. I can't wait!
Jamie O'Neill
I realise that the reference harks back to the "A year has passed since Bimmy and Jimmy defeated the Shadow Warriors" quote in Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones for the NES, but I can't wait to try Secret Base's new Bimmy and Friends free DLC for Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons.

I'm in over my head this weekend with a million and one things to do, but I'll pass a few sacred minutes here and there in Honkai: Star Rail's latest update.
That's what we're playing this weekend, then, but what about you? As always, let us know in the comments section below.

There is ONLY one thing to be played right now - Resident Evil Requiem!
Enjoy the amazing weekend guys!
After 81 hrs I finally Platinumed Dragon Age: The Veilguard, would’ve been quicker if there wasn’t a bugged quest which meant I had to do a 2nd play through. Great game!
Currently enjoying the excellent KCD which I wasn’t enjoying at first but stuck with it. Lots and lots of combat training and side quests before I even think about the main story. Clearing the Terry Gilliam esque map from clouds as well lol. Such a deep RPG, I love it.
My copy of Resident Evil Requiem arrived at 9pm yesterday so didn’t get to play as much as I wanted to last night but what little I did play I liked. Looks great and can’t wait to crack on with that over the weekend.
Lastly I’ve started playing Slay the Spire and got to Act 2. Decent game so far.
Heavy metal and Football as always 👍
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
@Zuljaras are you on PRO with the Pisser 2.0? .
I’ll be continuing my paragon 300 grind on Diablo4, made it to 275 last night. I can see the brow of the hill coming up 😆. Also on the 2nd to last map on Roadcraft so more trundling around at a snails pace.
Greetings, good people. Congratulations, we almost made it through the winter. (Looks at the piles of snow higher than my window outside) Almost...
Now onto the games, I'm sure many of you enjoy new Resident Evil while I wait for my physical copy. But even if I got it yesterday, I would still be playing WitchSpring R until I finish it. I mean, I heard it's good, but words won't do it justice. The game introduces you to the most charming, innocent, best daughter in the whole world... and then makes her life miserable very step of the way. Seriously, if in the end Pieberry won't find happiness, I swear I'll <redacted>. Ok, deep breaths...
And I also got true ending in MIO: Memories in Orbit. Very engaging, charming and beautiful metroidvania. Yeah, it's no Silksong. But what is? What's more surprising, that according to the achievements, only 3% of the players finished the game and 2% got the second ending. What is wrong with you people?!
Alright, that's all for today. Love each other and have a great weekend.
@GamingGod Nope. Just a regular FAT gorgeous PS5.
Started Hellpoint last night and quite enjoying it. Looking forward to putting a few more hours in and narrowing down on a build. It’s definitely AA but it’s doing a solid job of transposing the feel of the early Souls (DeS & DS1 in particular) games into a sci-fi horror environment.
Platted Spiderman 2 yesterday. Beautiful game but Im getting tired of open world games.
I tried Marathon for an hour but its not a game for me.
Ill try some games this weekend, Dead Cells, RE Village, Silent Hill 2, Still wakes the deep and Test Drive USC and see what sticks.
Have a great weekend!
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined: I like the diorama-esque visuals that allow you to rotate 360° in the overworld; it's more limited in dungeons, true, but still incredibly helpful. It's also really cool to see how your actions in the past affect the present. Not having a massive continent to explore but many islands instead is new to me, but keeps things interesting. Looking forward to many more hours!
@Zuljaras cool I’ve been watching the DF review and it looks stunning on all platforms tbh
Still playing Ghost of Yotei I'm at 66% according to my PS5 absolutely loving it and don't want it to end. I've also still got Avowed to start but I'll probably hang off until I'm done with Yotei I'm trying to only play 1 open world game at a time.
It's a weekend of Marathon with friends for me, played around 12 hours now and despite some reservations (menus, occasional 'empty' runs, not knowing what's good to loot) I'll be keeping my preorder.
Continuing with Cairn on the side, and tempted to start a longer game from the backlog.
Jealous of those of you enjoying RE9 as it looks absolute quality, but as I said on another post I am a big soft scaredy cat and will be staying well clear!
Have an excellent weekend everyone, enjoy all the games.
Goy requiem yesterday. Had a quick blast before but got a busy weekend so won't get much time on it.
So far it looks stunning and runs perfectly. Can't wait to get stuck in to it
@GamingGod It is. I am not into perfect graphics and over 9000 FPS so I am just glad to play the game.
PS: It is amazing game for now and I just reached the Leon main part.
Tried Marathon, art style is cool, like it when devs try different looks, played with some 2 others, came out top in the end, reminded me of my CoDMW&MW2 days, where I was always at least top 3 or 5 every session buuuttt it's back to my SPs. KCD1/2, MHWilds, downloaded HZD again, I just want to platinum it being at 80% trophies since forever.
I’m playing Horizon Zero Dawn remastered. It’s a beautiful game. I love games with bows and this one feels great
Too many big games at once!
Resident Evil Requiem, Marathon and Nioh III for me.
I have to do two hours work now, but I'm itching to turn the Pro on.
@Shepherd_Tallon I love nioh. I would like to go back and get the platinums on all 3 games. It’s the best souls game that’s not a souls game I’ve ever played
Carrying on with Demons Souls remake - cant believe i left it this long ! ( though I did complete the original MANY times ) and its as superlative as ever. Love playing as a Royal, makes things that little bit easier, though ive died around 100 times 😅. This game will forever be on my hard drive.
Also playing The Outer Worlds 2 on GamePass and to be fair im finding it a bit of a tedious slog - its literally Avowed in a sci fi skin ( Avowed is better ) which was a fantasy skin of the original Outer Worlds. But my OCD will make me complete it.
Late night gaming sessions will be FF9 on PS Portal ( if I can stop the terrible lag )
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
It’s here! Resident Evil Requiem has been a blast so far. It’s a fantastic homage to what the series is after 30 years. Beyond that spending some time with Crisol Theatre of Idols. What an atmospheric Bioshock meets Resident Evil style game! And of course Romeo is a Dead Man has also been consuming my time. The more I play the more I love it.
Lastly, Arc Raiders has been eating my time as I try to goop my way to the expedition. Happy gaming all!
@GamingGod I was thinking this same thing just last night. The Nioh series is definitely the best of those hardcore franchises that isn't made by FromSoftware, in my mind at least.
Nioh III is the best of the series for me so far too.
They've really nailed the formula this time.
I'm enjoying it so much that I'm also considering the platinum.
Absolutely nothing for me for these next two weeks - spending time at the seaside with family 🙂
My single player game is Resident Evil Requiem obviously! It’s not bad so far, although I’m actually finding the Grace sections rather frustrating with a lot of trial and error when it comes to the enemy’s. I’ve died a lot lol
Then it’s some Abiotic Factor later tonight as my group multiplayer game.
Also be playing Towerborne co-op which despite its simple graphics is probably one of the nicest looking games I’ve seen in a while. I just like how colourful and clear it all looks
Quake (SW) - Just sticking to multiplayer for now.
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - Nearly at the end now.
Asphalt Overdrive (Windows Phone) - Need to get back to this.
red dead redemption on the 5pro and some sports jam on flycast.
Been playing Herdling this week so I'll finish that off and keep playing Ball X Pit in the meantime.
Ball X Pit reminds me of Peglin but there's more mechanics at play, pretty addictive!
@ErrantRob I absolutely loved Cistol. So much so I’ve beaten it twice just to get all the collectibles. My only issue with the game was the uneven performance (playing on pro) which I swear got worse the more you played. Other then that I recommend it to everyone!
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. I'm off to Krakow and I've packed the Switch 2 avec Donkey Kong Bananza. Im finally going to reenact that Switch 1 ad where the guy is playing his Switch on the plane. Hope everyone has a fun weekend/funkend.
This weekend I'm playing Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Having not long played War for Cybertron, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I couldn't resist moving straight onto Fall, which I'd heard is even better. And it absolutely is.
War for Cybertron was a relatively straightforward shooter, while Fall really mixes things up in unexpected ways. The whole thing is a massive power fantasy for any Transformers fan and I love it.
Have a great weekend, fellow Push Squarians.
Finished:
Vagrant Story (Vita)
Finally done with my 2nd playthrough. After more than two decade, my stand for this game still not change. I'm confidently say this is one of the best RPG in gaming history, one of the best game that Square ever made, and it rightfully deserves a 10/10. There will be no RPG that looks, plays, and sounds like this anymore. Salute to Yasumi Matsuno, Akihiko Yoshida, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Hiroshi Minagawa, and the rest of the team for created a masterpiece 🙇♂️🫡
Playing:
I have this game along with Suikoden II and III on my backlog for years. It's time to finish it.
I hope everyone have a good weekend. Cheers 🍻
PS5:
I got the platinum for Spider-Man 2. Great game and scratches my collection everything on the map itch.
Singleplayer: restarted Kingdom Come Deliverance. This time investing sufficient time in the combat 😅
Multiplayer: Marathon mainly. As many already know I love the game (shooting is wonderful). On the side some battlefield 6.
Digimon time stranger. It’s been sucking up my playtime this whole month.
I'm trying to play Doom Dark Ages which is so good, I like it a thousand times more than the bullet sponge Eternal (I'd have bought it day one if the demo hadn't been behind the PSN paywall), but I've also had a had desire to replay the Dark Souls trilogy so I've started that. The +5 Black Knight Halberd is making short work of DS1. Cannot believe DS1 is 15 years old now, it's aged (the remaster) but it's still a brilliant game.
I've finally got my Subnautica platinum after 5 years, and went straight into Subnautica:Below Zero. They're my absolute favourite survival/crafting games.
Have a great weekend folks!
I had my Lenticular Edition of Requiem delivered yesterday but I'm trying to get on with Expedition 33 unfortunately I'm finding it way to hard now ( I'm on story mode!)and tempted to give up and start Cronos The New Dawn.
Of course along with Tavern Simulator and Power Wash I'll be busy into Octopath Traveller Zero.
Enjoy your weekend all!
I got my Nioh 3 Platinum earlier in the week so now I am romping through NG+! Got my farming build almost sorted, got some the pieces together for a boss melting build. I do need to figure out what my cut off point is, when I'll unravel Nioh 3 from around my heart and move on... but it isn't this weekend.
I'll also be playing some more Guild Wars Reforged with the lads.
I am so very tempted to pick up RE9, but I still have crimbo games to get through!
On the Pro Resident Evil Requiem. This is probably the most outstanding graphics on a console I have ever seen. PSSR 2.0 is a game changer. Let's hope it fixes the issues with PSSR 1.0 on other games
Resident Evil 2 remake on the pro. First time I've played it and really enjoying it. "What's wrong with you?!" 😂
I also picked up a used portal for £85 so I'll see what that's all about.
I beat Yakuza Kiwami 3 literally while Resident Evil Requiem was installing yesterday so I’ll be playing that one.
Also I’ll be running through another Capcom Belt Action Collection Beat Em Up with an American friend of mine like we’ve done every Saturday for the past 3 weeks now.
I’m continuing with Spider man 2, which isn’t really pulling me as much as the first. Cannot beat swinging around the city though.
Resident Evil Requiem and absolutely loving it. It feels like a greatest hits of the series and a great mix of survival horror and Leon's action, alongside being a showpiece for the PS5 Pro
AC Shadows - Claws of Awaji - I've finished the story content, which was very good and I really enjoyed returning to this game, its awesome imo. Its also story content I feel everyone who finished the game should play, without spoling anything 🙂
Marathon Server Slam - I've played 5-6 rounds and its not a bad game by any means, the gameplay, movement, gun handling and that is very good which is to be expected but then the rest is not as good, UI is a mess and I dont really see myself playing a game like this for very long as I just dont see what would keep me invested in the long run. But its early days and that might change, Im not getting it at release though, but maybe down the line. We'll see.
Other than that, not much gaming this week and next week we're on a skiing trip so I'll be on the Portal but havent decided what to play yet. Hope you all have some tips for me 🙂
Most likely will try out battlefield 6 finally, after having it since day one I am yet to even start it lol
Mostly marathon as it's damn cool but I do have a few rally challenges to reclaim on EA wrc so I need to get those bragging rights back. Have a great weekend everybody 👍
There can be only 1...or in this case, 9.
I'm in my BL era again and thanks to Gagaoolala, I can binge-watch a lot lol. As for gaming, I plan to continue my first ever playthrough of Ghost of Tsushima. Omg Jin is so sweet and calm... why do I fall for the fictional characters lmaoo 💀💀💀
87 hours into Assassin's Creed Shadows and I've only just crossed into a fourth region. This is becoming one of my favourite AC games.
I will continued playing fan favorite the incredible tales of arise. And I will continued playing the instant classic the amazing granblue fantasy relink. I will be watching my boston celtics 💚🖤 🏀 play.my michigan wolverines 💛💙 won the big ten basketball 🏀 championship.i will be watching legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy sitcoms in family matters.saved by the bell. good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.the wayans brothers.word up son
Spider-man Remastered for the first time. 10% in and I'm loving it so far. Snake eater in the game log for soon so hopefully I can make some progress in Spider-man.
After completing the brilliant RE4, I am started the AW2 DLC. The nights springs episodes are batshit crazy but fun
Resident Evil Requiem, of course. Game looks stunning and plays so well. Love it on my Pro
That scary game
Took a notion and went back to my Hotwheels Unleashed 2 save (the PS4 version) and finished it out 100%. I've now done that twice for this game (PS4, PS5 versions), and three times for HWU1 (PS4, PS5, Series X versions).
Marathon is installed, but yet to boot it up.
Finally defeated The Nameless King in Dark Souls III. He was a brick wall to me back in 2020, and I left the game there and haven't played it again until recently (with an entirely new build/roll). I know he's an optional boss, but it would feel like cheaping out to me if I don't kill everything in a Souls game.
I've fully repopulated the Sanctuary in Absolum. I hate to say it, but the Threads of Fate update is a big letdown to the point where the game is actually poorer for having it. Runs can frequently descend into total chaos before you have a chance to get your build going. I've frequently lost track of where my character is because there's simply too many enemies/projectiles/effects on screen at once, it's straight up visual soup. And for all the new things they touted to be in it, locking them behind at least one playthrough with some of those ass modifiers sure is a choice. Oh and Guardcrush Games have a thing for spamming enemies with hyper armour. It was detrimental to SoR4 to the point where they took considerable feedback and removed most of them, so why they felt the need to throw a tonne of them into Absolum is beyond me.
Marathon update - booted it, and was asked to verify my age. What's the point of my PSN account, then? Bungie can kick rocks with this data harvesting BS. Automatic one star, deleted. ***** these companies.
@Shepherd_Tallon too right mate. They absolutely nailed it! I platted the first bit on an old account so I’d like to go for all 3 games on my new one.
Hopefully RE9 tonight. Can't wait to see what Capcom did with new entry and can only imagine how fun it will be.
RE9
Ghost of Yotei
@iPaud mate it’s some crazy ***** that dlc is.
Finishing off The Witcher 3 : Blood and Wine and then on to Spiderman 2. Also on the Marathon Server Slam which I'm also enjoying.
Hopefully Requiem.
Outside that, Pokémon’s a distinct possibility. Contemplating getting LeafGreen or FireRed for myself and the other one for my son and we can play the game together.
Playing Weird West for the first time and having a blast. What a cool immersive sim with top down view and every action has consequences...
Just Resident Evil: Requiem (PS5) this weekend.
Asgards Wrath 2

This standalone VR (Quest 3) action RPG is seriously impressive and one of the best VR games I've played to date. Great VR interactions, exploration, weighty combat etc etc. Makes me very sad that Meta just shut down the developer Sanzaru games.
Tyrant's Blessing

Turn-based fantasy SRPG that plays similarly to Into the Breach. Nothing very special, but an OK way to spend some hours.
Marathon
Tried the Server Slam. Nothing particularly wrong with the game but also can't see anything that makes it stand out from all the extraction shooters already on the market. Will be interesting to see how it does when released.
I’ll be finishing Split Fiction with my son, hopefully. Also, I have been all over the place with my Resident Evil dabbling and with the hype of 9, I’m going to give the series a real try. I started with RE1 yesterday (one of the few I have fully played before), so I’ll be playing that, maybe some RE2 if I beat RE1 and Nioh 3. Finally, I’ll be squeezing in some reading of Operation Bounce House when we are lounging about.
Seeing Class VII's story slowly but steadily through as the days turn to weeks, and the weeks turn to months in Legend of heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (first one).
Already had a very intriguing tidbit of a foreshadowing... man the writers deserve a lot of acknowledgement for how they seem to have planned this all out!
Have a great weekend!
Arc raiders and kingdom Come Deliverance 2 🙂
I’ll be primarily jumping between Nioh 3 and Resident Evil Requiem but I’d also like to finish Reanimal. Happy gaming!
Shout out to @get2sammyb for putting me on Double Dragon Gaiden. Having fun with it solo. Also playing SCARS Above. 5/10 game but mostly because it’s very limited. Just doesn’t have much behind the story and what you can do. Gameplay is great though.
Also, I got Split Fiction for Valentines Day from my wife. Started it with my son now that fool is never home to play with me.
@Kiefer-Sutherland agreed! I’m a few hours in and the atmosphere and Bioshock vibes allow me to easily forgive performance issues. I just wish the trophy for money would get patched as I’ve seen it is glitched for me (says in game I’ve earned it but I haven’t yet).
I'm just finishing off Nioh 3 this weekend. I'm at the final area of Bakmatsu and act 3 is good fun, if a little too easy. I got the build fully online at the end of act 2 and have one or two shot every box in act 3 so far.
Lighting spear is deadly
@Verso-86 🔥 selection, can't wait to start kcd 2 next week.
Been five years since I played the first 😮💨
I will most likely be on the Switch 2 this weekend. But for anything on PS5 will be Sonic Racing Cross Worlds.
Just finished with Ghost of Yotei, such an amazing game. It's most likely back to Metroid Prime 4 for me, with some GT7 and F1 25 to relax.
My shiny new ps5 pro is arriving tomorrow, so excited!! I was meant to be waiting until that arrived to try re9 but had to try it yesterday and ended up playing for four hours 😬😂
Playing High on Life for the first time. I don't remember ever hearing about it, but after hearing about how the sequel was so funny I looked to see if it was on sale and I already owned it. Must have been a PS plus title I blindly added at some point. It is absolutely hilarious and I think it's the funniest game I've ever played (sorry Tales from the Borderlands). I just got the movie theater late last night and can't believe there is an entire Mystery Science Theater style movie to watch in it. Gonna watch the whole thing sometime today.
Just finished Cairn. An absolute masterpiece that deserves far more attention not just as a game but an experience both physically, mentally and spiritually.
Back to my combination of arc raiders and black myth wukong and giving no rest for the wicked a try despite them milking the ***** out of early access.
I finished ALIEN Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition just in time so, like many, I’ll be playing RE9. As well, I’ll be sprinkling in a little COD BO7 MP just to do the daily challenges. Hope everyone has a great weekend of gaming!
Hidden Cats in Istanbul
Cathedral
The Sword of Ianna
While you might find it hard to believe I began The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the first time just the other evening. I've played and finished the first two games years ago, however TW3 has been sat on my PC for quite some time due to other commitments.
Anyway, I've just finished the Bloody Baron storyline and what a damn fine game it is. Remarkable in fact.
I'm curious, though, as to why the combat gets a lot of ire? If you've played the first two games in the series you'll know it's a massive improvement. I actually find TW3's combat perfectly fine, better than a lot of other games of this type in fact, and have now gotten it down to an almost masterful degree. I rarely get bothered in combat.
Still playing through Alice: Madness Returns. I'm about half way now. Remains one of my favourite platformers.
Also fired up a classic game on the old 360 this week, PGR 4.
Been a while since I've played it and it's lost none of its charm. Why don't they make racing games like this anymore? There's a palatable brilliance to it's bold simplicity. There's none of the tiresome tropes found in modern racers. No ridiculous narratives, no forced nonsense dressed up as gameplay, just pure, unadulterated racing that handles wonderfully as it slips and slides somewhere between arcade and simulator.
I often see people asking for PGR to return, but I say no to that as they'd no doubt only go and ruin it with their online DRM and aggressive monetisation. So yes while I lament the fact they don't make racing games of this calibre anymore I say leave well alone and not sour PGR's reputation.
Not much gaming as I’ll be traveling but I played Marathon and thought it was cool but maybe too sweaty for me. Also started playing Minecraft dungeons with my kid and it’s definitely a fun romp, baby first dungeon crawler.
After an excessive amount of time, approximately 80 hours, I got the platinum for NiOh 3. I’m proud of the accomplishment, but let me state for the record now, and forever more: ***** the final boss.
It is now time to focus on Resident Evil Requiem. I picked up the generation pack that includes 7 & 8 on the Switch 2 since I’ll be traveling extensively the next few weeks. I can’t wait!
While everyone is out there getting their copies of Resident Evil 9, I just got my physical copy of Lil Gator Game: Gator of the Year Edition (with the new In The Dark DLC included). Someone is certainly going to be having a more feirce time.
I do want to play it right away, but I'm trying to wrap up Horizon Forbidden West. I'll also have the Burning Shores DLC to do after, but I might take a break to play Gator Game in between, after I finish up the main game. I've also got Doom The Dark Ages waiting for me soon. That'll be polarizing. Doom and Gator Game.
Just finished Returnal. At it's best it's one of the best games i've played this generation. At it's worst it's one of the most soul destroying games i've ever played. Hopefully Saros can fix some of the worst parts and retain the magic, because when it's good it's unbelievably great.
Well I tried my best to hold off on Rez Evil req till October for Halloween but the recent DF video on how it uses PSSR2 broke me. Started last night. The game's graphics, art direction, atmosphere is abso fantastic!!!! I still think Decima is the pinnacle engine right now. But RE engine is def 2nd and right up there only a millimeter behind Decima
@themightyant what were the worst parts to you? I know they patched some of the early complaints like pausing etc….
Mainly Tokyo Xtreme Racer, I had the game pre ordered and not disappointed, it's great. I've also got back playing Shenmue 3 now I have a PS5 as the framerate is much nicer, so feels like I'm back on the Dreamcast this weekend. Also bought the recent Alone in the Dark reboot as wanted to see how the game is, was really cheap to pick up now.
@Gemini53 strap in for a long ride with Witcher 3. My playthrough with all the DLC was around 170h and it''s amazing. Blood and Wine is especially good, that DLC alone is better than most full games.
Not sure if you use mods but auto weapon oil mod is great and removes all the menu busy work. I think I also used weightless inventory because I like hoarding swords.
@themightyant as much i loved Returnal I gave up at the 5th biome, it was just too difficult, soul destroyingly so. Like to think ill try again but likely won't. Enjoy !
I just finished Before Your Eyes on PSVR2. Really moving game with a super unique interface (it solely uses eye tracking to interact with things, no buttons). Made me cry, made me reconsider my life. Did what good art can do.
Kinda in deep with everything VR has to offer right now and I don't have a huge desire to play flat games at the moment. I'm sure the novelty will wear off at some point, but I'm all in right now.
@ilyn
I'm a big supporter of mods, but generally after I've finished a game in its original form.
Just to be different Assassin's Creed Odyssey is my current time suck.
Hoping Ubisoft sort themselves out and we get Hexe sooner rather than later, as well as the Black Flag "remake".
I got my one hundred percents in Spiderman and Miles Morales so I'm taking a break from hefty story based/narrative games and casually strolling through the countryside in Day Z. I already got lucky and found a badly fortified French base and let myself in then borrowed some of their supplies. I just need to find a shovel so I can stash the rest in a crates and bury them somewhere safe. I'm going to lower their flag and take that too, for that I need a small axe. Hopefully they are offline for the night. They have quite a lot of things and I can carry only so much. The last time I did this a guy logged back on and I had to quietly hide in the bushes until he left again. So far so good.
I did it just in time and got their flag too. Then headed off into the sunset with the last of their Coke a Cola. Hydration is important. They'll probably blame the clan (PVP server) the next town over (then they'll fight each other) either way they need to work on their defenses. I got in there as a fresh spawn, now I'm fully geared. I thought I'd have to travel further North and risk a visit to the airfield. They removed notes so I can't leave a sorry/thank you note.
Happy gaming weekend Folks, remember to check your doors and windows. Fridges too.
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Delivered milk to Uppsala, canned tuna to Malmö, plastic pipes to Grimsby, sodium to Aarhus, and large containers to Gothenburg. Upgraded my garages in London and Brussels. After 107 days my Ziggurat Spedition trucking empire has 47 trucks.
Hollow Knight
Entered the Greenpath and have found the Hunter's Journal.
The Outer Worlds
Completed the main quests and all side quests in Roseway and have moved on to Monarch.
A late Saturday for me this week, but I'm still playing Octopath Traveler 0 now 109hrs in and still not finished. I'm hoping I finish it in time for Crimson Desert on the 19th as it's looking more and more like it might run well enough on base PS5 for me to buy it.
Have a great one folks!
@Xodan That was such a good game, a bit of a pain to platinum but really unique and so few people ever talked about it.
@Onearmbandit Who are you listening to this weekend?
Resident Evil Requiem. Having an absolute blast. About 60% done.
@GirlVersusGame
Great little read. Made me want to reinstall Day Z again...which I just might.
I’d be playing Resident Evil Requiem but retailers are carrying less and less physical media of late. Which is the ONLY reason major retailers are sold out of this game right now. And this just proves that people still want to actually own and posses their stuff!
After an existential crisis about not paying 60 quid for an 8hr game , I succumbed to the hype and bought resi requiem, what an absolutely stunning piece of software , playing on the pro and its probably one of the best looking games I've ever played ,the lighting is superb and its actually true black when you kill the lights , its actually quite scary for a change , great game well done capcom, id love a vr version
@Locksley yeah i had to buy it digitally everywhere sold out , I wasn't very happy about that as I own every other physically , ill pick up a physical version in a couple of years cheap, to add to the collection
About to finish Yakuza Kiwami 3’s main game trophies. I wasn’t really thrilled with the remake. Was the original rough to play? Absolutely. But it’s clear that RGG wants to retcon a lot of characters’ fates. News flash: don’t kill off characters that you think could be fun/useful down the line. Only kill them off if you need to, it makes sense and you see no real future for them in the franchise. Leaving a character’s fate ambiguous is fine or lock ‘em up. Like RGG fumbled so damn hard killing off a great villain in the early games who could still be VERY relevant to this day. But no, let’s ass pull ***** here.
Overall, it’s a nice little remake. Onto playing Dark Ties hoping that changes my mind a bit.
@KingPev I was stuck on the 5th biome for days and many runs. It is soul destroying. And then yesterday morning in my first run I breezed through it, and the 6th and finished the game. I then beat it again next run.
I haven’t fully formed my opinion on it yet, but it is love/hate. I’m not surprised only 1 in 9 finish it (just 11% of players)
@HRdepartment the worst part of Returnal is the soul destroying feeling of dying on a run where you were doing so well but lose around 1-2 hours of progress suddenly with very little to show for it. It’s soul crushing and you have to pick yourself up to go again.
My biggest issue with the game is that most of it is quite easy if you are methodical, take your time to explore and make good choices leveling up your character. But then you come to a room that is just rock hard and you die in seconds. You lose all that progress in moments. It’s rough.
I think it does a really poor job of training you for those difficulty spikes because there is very little content in the middle. I still think it’s utterly brilliant, but I also think it’s overly brutal. I need to have a think about how that balances out in my final evaluation.
@GirlVersusGame
Yes, Weird West is great & unique. I like everything about it: the freedom, the randomness, the combat system, the fact that I can play 5 different characters that share the same consistent world. Yeah, the platinum is a bit of pain without a guide (many missables). I can't hardly wait the next game of Wolfeye Studios (I just read about them, the studio was founded by Arkane co-founder Raphael Colantonio). Happy gaming!
@GirlVersusGame Bit of everything haha. SOAD, Metallica and Strapping Young Lad mainly.
@Onearmbandit A bit of everything here too Moonspell (Portuguese) Stutterfly (post-hardcore) Stabbing Westward, DevilDriver, A Perfect Circle, Russian hard-bass, Albanian rap. I couldn't really use much music with those Spiderman games. Except the Screwball challenges (most annoying dialogue) I drowned those out Fear Factory and some inhuman drumming. With Day Z I depend more on my eyes than my ears If I hear footsteps I'm already dead, but not if I see them first.
@Gemini53 Thanks, you reminded me once again that I really want to play a remaster, remake or third game in the Alice series. I still have my PS3 copy, it looks like the developers are long gone. Their last game Akaneiro: Demon Hunters was a Japanese take on Red Riding Hood set in feudal Japan.
@GirlVersusGame
I've Alice on 360. Both versions go for a pretty penny now. Between £25-40 on average. Not that I'd sell my copy.

That sounds intriguing.
@GirlVersusGame Wow, nice mix there and decent recommendations. Been cranking out Moonspell and Stutterfly whilst cooking the family a roast. Have a great Sunday 👍
@themightyant I can see that. Imo the rooms with the crazy spikes are usually marked in some way. For me that was part of the fun was being strategic and circling back to an area where I knew I’d get crushed if I went into before I was ready. Also once I got good at the game challenging myself by rolling into those rooms with just the pistol. But I understand where you’re coming from. My heart dropped a hand full of times during my first 8ish hours of playing.
I’ve been playing Resident Evil Requiem (playing on default difficulty but I’ve died a lot), Gran Turismo 7, Iron Guard (a VR tower defense game whose sequel hits next week) and a bit of Helldivers 2.
This weekend I rolled credits on Solar Ash & The Kaito Files. I also started Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. I have just reached the first proper boss. I will need to play about with my load out and see how to take him down, but really enjoyed what I've played so far.
Enjoy the remaining hours of the weekend everyone.
Definitely not bore-a-thon.
Finished Nioh 3 and that was one hell of a game, already looking forward to the DLC later in the year. Im not a trophy hunter, but I will say thats a great platinum to get. I got all but 2 trophies by just playing the game, and the two I missed took me 10m to go back and grab.
Now what to start next...
Marathon all weekend, I'm not very good but I'm really beginning to enjoy it and to get to grips with the UI , I doubt it can rival Arc Raiders as my favourite game in last 5 years but there is definitely room for both and I will pick it up on Thursday.
