Unfortunately I’ve had a family friend stayingover last night and family member so gaming will be limited 😢.

RE9 will have to wait til Sunday now and I’m gutted as I’m playing as Leon and in a familiar place so I’m eager to jump back in.

I’ve done a big quest line in KCD but unfortunately on stupidly low health against a certain black knight so had to restart to the beginning of the quest and go back to combat training, small tasks and activities.

I’ll probably end up playing Slay the Spire and a little Minecraft with my son till Sunday.

Football with a slice of Beer and a dash of Heavy Metal as always 🤘👍

I’ll sound like a broken record this week. Still working through Romeo is a Dead Man and loving it. I’m also slowly working my way through RE Requiem and I must say, this will be a top 3 game for me this year. Otherwise Art of Rally as I work on the platinum, and I may add Minishoot Adventures in there as I’ve waited a long time for it to come to console. Enjoy the weekend all!

Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. Im currently playing Final Fantasy XVI and will later play Mario Kart World while watching sportsball. It is sure to be a weekend.

This weekend I'm playing one of my favourite games of all time - Alan Wake. I've played it many times, and every single time it has me on the edge of my seat. It's so packed with atmosphere that I find even just the action of running around and shining your torch on the scenery to be incredibly tactile and satisfying. I love everything about it, (deliberately) hokey storytelling and all.

I'm giving it another run through in preparation for playing the sequel, which I'm hoping to start on my shiny new PS5 next weekend 😃

On the side, hopefully will be playing some Patapon this weekend as well.

I suggest this game to every fellow gamers, even considering the problems Nacon (the publisher) is facing.

A leisurely farewell cruise around Empire City collecting all the Wanted posters in Mafia 2 - Definitive Edition.

Pokémon Legends Z-A: I'm not the biggest fan of handholding, but it only lasts the first hour or so, and being free to explore Lumiose City is great. There are a lot of little challenges disguised as sidequests or Wild Zones which serve as great opportunities to expand your Pokédex. Of course the star of the show is the combat: it took me a few battles to figure out how to position my team and whereas before I would typically just go all-out offensive I have now discovered that status effects can really change the tide. It's not as fun as its predecessor, but I can confidently say I'll be enjoying Z-A for many hours to come.

Halls of Torment. This game will be the death of me...

Going for the platinum and it's taking forever

Edit: Almost forgot! Also playing Spider-man Remastered. I beat the main game again just so that I can experience the DLC and I finally get the criticism it received of being more of the same. Having said that, I found the second DLC much darker than the main game and quite impactful. Haven't started the third DLC yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.

I wonder if anyone else enjoyed the DLC.

Hi! I do agree: Alan Wake is a superb game. I remember unlocking all the achievements on the Xbox 360 many years ago, a performance I do rarely.
I also bought the Remastered but not played yet!

Deep into my second Elden Ring run. Wielding a blasphemous blade this time plus mimic +10 - I feel so powerful right now!

Trying to unlock unlimited ammo in RE9 so that i can play the hard mode.
Then a but of Dragon Quest 7 prolly.

red dead redemption, going for the platinum. got most of the grindy sh*t out of the way today. so it’s 15 story mission and undead left.

Going to be a lot of MH Wilds for me this weekend. Didn't realise there are a lot wonderfully crafted realistic diverse monsters in the end game. That's a lot of content more than World for the base game. Oh and those animations, those animations...Capcom's RE engine graphics is just crazy! Plus some KCD2 also, Henry's adventures is still not done because he's busy with interesting side quests.

I'm in the second region of Nioh 3 and the game is getting noticably tougher. My response? Imbue the tonfa with paralysis and stunlock everyone into submission. Ha.

Got the platinum for Yotei during the week really enjoyed it. I've now started Avowed but I'm only 7 hours in and it's crashed 3 times it's doing my head in. I also downloaded AC Unity to give the 60fps update a try.

Pokopia and finishing up RE Requiem.

Demons Souls on PS5 which im completely addicted to, im gonna run through this game with every class eventually. Top 5 of all time.
The Outer Worlds 2 on XBX which is growing on me slightly, but one ill never play again.
Currently downloading Marathon which ill play all day tmrw, purely on a recommendation from @northern_munkey 😅 looking forward to.it, love Bungies shooters.

Was playing The Last of Us Part II Remastered yesterday, a game I got the PS4 plat in 2020, and was surprised by a certain event. Funny how much time passed since that game launched. Still a amazing one, even better thar Part I.

I'm playing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as well. Incredible showcase of the PS5 technical capabilities. The fidelity mode runs really well, the game is a blast.

Making good progress in Assassin's Creed Shadows too, and in Judgment got my first girlfriend haha

Finally got my own castle and staff for storing items, inn, weapons etc. Ngl, the item management in this game is a big headache. And the lack for in-game tutorial also quite annoying, especially about how Rune and status effect works. I wonder if the remaster fixed these problems. Nonetheless it's a pretty fun game.

Outside games, i'm watching Trigun Stargaze catching up to eps 8. The anime is pretty good and makes me forget a bit of recent orange man & bibi madness 😮‍💨

Continuing to check peeps off Naoe and Yasuke's murder list in AC Shadows.
I've also started a new game of Fallout 4 for the umpteenth time.

The Sword of Ianna and maybe a bit of Sea of Thieves.

After the 60fps patch released i bought AC Unity on sale and after a few hours I'm starting to have some fun with it! I'll keep playing it to provide some variety from Octopath Traveler 0 which I'm 113hrs into.

I started Absolum last night, and I’m hooked.

RE9 this weekend and maybe some GOY or ACS.

We'ev been on a skiing trip for most of the week, I brought the Portal so I managed to play a little at least while away and decided to pick up Thief VR yesterday 🙂

First though, I must yet again say that the Portal is amazing and the choice between connecting to your PS5 or play plus games via Cloud is great and both work very well given you have a stable connection. Played some favorite games for a bit and I’m still impressed at how well they run and look on the Portal, but I also played:

Mindseye trial - I've been curious about how bad this game can be, and after about 45 min of the trial I can say its very bad. Mostly because it was marketed as a AAA game but its more like an indie A game. Very generous of the developer to let us try their disastrous game without any extra cost (on ps plus). Try it for yourselves 😅

Thief VR I got this yesterday so I've only played the first two missions but I really like it, it looks and plays good and that thief-feeling is very cool in VR. What I would have liked is some more narrative and cutscenes or something binding the missions together a bit better, now its like they are instances with some chatter between your character and an NPC but I guess thats because its built so you can easily replay the missions when done and get rankings and fulfill objectives etc but I would have loved for it to be more... like a normal single player game I guess. You could have replayability of the missions anyway. Still, I like what I've played and I'm looking forward to more 🙂

Taking my time on my first play through of Resident Evil Requiem. Loving it so far. So atmospheric. Looks & runs amazing too on base PS5

Have had AC Unity sitting in the backlog for about seven years. So with the 4K/60FPS patch I've noodled about a bit with it. Only in the starting area still and will park it once I reach the game proper (due to not wanting two third person open world games on go at once), but one thing that has struck me is what were Ubi smoking thinking the PS4/Xbox One could handle this many NPCs on screen at once? Once section has to be the most NPC-dense area of any videogame I've ever seen.

Hooked on Death Stranding 2 again. Just reached the bit where Higgs ambushes you in the abandoned factory. This is the most Kojima thing I've ever seen in my life. I was never a big MGS fan, but with Death Stranding (and its sequel), I finally "get" it. I've over 50 hours played so far, yet I'm only in Chapter 8 of 22 (or so). Four to five starring most of the people I meet, because I gotta get those juicy unlocks. And likes. Don't forget the likes.

After finally finishing Dark Souls III, I've picked up Elden Ring again as I never finished Shadow of the Erdtree. I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing or where I'm going. Oh dear.

Took a notion and picked up my save from Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered. Am close to finishing it 100%. This is the first of Criterion's NFS games, and probably my second-favourite overall (with their own Most Wanted 2012 being my favourite - would absolutely love for a similar remaster of that).

I started AC Shadows and I am having a really good time so far being a sneaky Shinobi... I'm 12hrs in and Yasuke hasn't reappeared yet. I'm looking forward to being a tank, but man this game feels like it should've been Naoe's a lone.

After losing all my save files when I got my pro (🤬) I’ve wanted to replay Astrobot which I’m doing this weekend.

It’s as good as I remember and looks absolutely stunning on the pro!

I’m hoping to wrap up Spider man 2 this weekend, the fights will just not stop. Im also eyeing up a return to Dragons Dogma as I’m in the mood for some janky fun.

On PS5 i will be playing Echoes of the End, Okami HD, Inazuma Eleven and jump into some Marathon in between.

On Switch 2 I will be mainly focussing on Pokopia, but I also want to finish Resident Evil Requiem and Mario Tennis Fever this weekend.

Arcraiders. I’m crap at these types of games, but I’m loving it

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, first time I’m using my Ps5 since I beat Uncharted Lost Legacy January 2026.

Besides that I just beat Azure Striker Gunvolt Enhanced Edition and Yakuza Dark Ties on my Switch 2.

I might also start Resident Evil Village or Street Fighter 6’s World Tour Mode.

The Last Stand Aftermath got for under £5 twin stick rogue/zombie thing definitely worth the price I paid for it.

I had a week of forced rest which meant a lot of gaming (more important) First was Spiderman 2, I played all three in a row. It was the easiest to platinum but had the worst side content (dire) the last half of the story was raw and very true to the graphic novels. Seeing Insomniac take the training wheels off makes me want to play Wolverine.

Next up was a cooking Indie called Venba. It's about an Indian couple who move to Canada in the 1980s. They have a child and fear they are losing him to Westernization, his Mum then uses cooking to teach him about his culture and to reach him. It was a really humble game, short and thoughtful. After that was Neva. A very moving platformer with light combat, beautiful hand-drawn art and equally beautiful music.

Last night I started Control and after an hour I had to stop to check something. It turns out that the game is heavily inspired by my favorite novel 'House of Leaves' by Mark Z. Danielewski. The feel of the game, the theme, tones and narrative structure all felt so familiar, now I know why. I found the novel through my favorite song 'Haunted' by Poe, both the singer and the author are siblings. It's all come full circle and I can't wait to really get into the game and to start exploring the world and it's narrative. Hopefully the novel hasn't spoiled too much. Happy gaming weekend Folks. I’m playing Resident Evil 9: Requiem. I don’t get scared often, but this game has been anxiety inducing. There have been moments where I had to pause the game just to breathe. The last (horror) game to evoke these emotions was Alien: Isolation. It’s been a fantastic experience. And just when I thought my arachnophobia couldn’t get any worse … oh, boy.

@Boomers-r-us ah is my fault really. I stopped subbing to ps+ but didn’t know the only way to transfer save files on ps5 was through the cloud. Thought you could do it via usb stick like I did on my ps4 but no…

Sucks Sony put save file transfers behind a paywall.

Spider Man 2 fort me this weekend. It's maybe not quite as good as the original, but it's still very good. I think the only part that tipped them original was that the villain roster was excellent. Kraven is good but he was always a bit B tier for me personally.

Black Skylands

A top-down steampunk adventure that feels like a mix of Hotline Miami and Bioshock Infinite. Good stuff.

After almost 80 hours, I finished Horizon Forbidden West last weekend. I absolutely loved my time with it, and I'm looking forward to playing The Burning Shores soon.

But I need to play something else as a refresher. I picked up the physical version of Lil Gator Game this week, and I've started the Into the Dark DLC. It's just as charming as the original game, and Im looking forward to getting lost in the depths this weekend. My wife and I also played some more Borderlands 4, and I picked up Dispatch yesterday, so I'm going to be firing that up real soon as well.

@themightyant Blood and Truth is very good, especially if you're new to VR. It's a game I wish was available on PCVR as it would be perfect to show friends what VR can do. It's more like a lightgun game where you move node to node, with very impressive shootouts and scenery.

PSVR Without Parole (youtube) is a very good source for PSVR best-of lists of games. You'd have to watch some older best-of lists before PSVR2 came out, though.

Making my way to the final field studies in Trails of Cold Steel. Must admit that I haven't had as much issues with connecting with the main cast like a lot of people seem to have.

Can't wait to see where this journey leads, because the story has just really kicked into gear!

@datamonkey I'm pretty sure you can transfer everything from ps5 to ps5 pro while in the setup process including save files but I was subscribed to ps+ so can't comment on not being subscribed to ps+ but being unable to do so would be extremely egregious

Nothing. I finished LaD: Infinite Wealth a few weeks ago (loved it despite a pretty bad story, albeit with some great moments) then got Avowed. It crashes numerous times every time I play and is generally quite lacklustre and underwhelming. I can cross a point of no return and enter the final dungeon but I'm not really feeling it. Probably just go for some runs and watch some films (not at the same time.)

@Nilexson I won't spoil anything, but be sure to have Trails of Cold Steel II ready to go - I think you will want to jump in immediately!

I'm three runs through Requiem at this point (only because I failed my first attempt at Speed Demon at 4:06 - the second was 2:45). I would still like to do another very slow, ponderous run on Insanity mode this time to get everything else wrapped up, but it may be time for a break.

I think I may end up back into Trails in the Sky FC. I'd like to finish it before I finally start on the Calvard games.

It wasn’t until I set up my pro it became apparent you can no longer transfer via memory card 🤦‍♂️

Finally finished the main game for DK Bananza. As much as I thoroughly enjoyed it, man do I wish it had the same energy and creativity that it had in the last 4 or 5 layers. Gonna finish up all the post game content, some of which amped up the difficulty so much lol

Also started Pokopia, its been a lot more fun than I expected building the different habitats and seeing all sorts of pokemon pop up. And am now in the process of trying to make slowpoke yawn 😂

Still making my way thru Nioh 3. This is likely my goty so far. Ive adored every area in terms of exploration and level design. Difficulty is just right. It hasn't slowed down yet

And last, still slowly making my way thru MH Stories 1. Knocking out all the side quests with my black diablos before I leave the desert

I will continue with Skull and Bones, 105 hours and still loving it. Being ranked around 9900 in the weekly leaderboard, it would appear, in the true sense of the word "objectively", that I am not the only one. Whatever floats yer boat, happy gaming everyone 🙂

This weekend I should be finishing my plat run on Roadcraft. Another huge grind from Saber interactive but if you like big boys toys like construction/cranes and big dump trucks I can’t recommend it enough. Also still grinding my paragon 300 level on Diablo4. Starting to get painful now 😁. Praying for double XP event soon 🙏

Gonna finish off Death Stranding 2 and then i have Silent Hill F lined up but im probably gonna hold off for the PSSR2 update before I start that one.

I'm playing Hell is Us on Performance Mode (NOT Quality) and in my opinion the frame rate is high and stable (I may say locked at 60fps).
also the aesthetics on a PRO are enhanced (I checked some online comparison).
my experience so far is pretty good and I genuinely like the game.

anyway please keep in mind my setup is peculiar:
I play on a 27" LG UltraGear monitor at 1080p (so NOT 1440p or 4K).
my setup is similar to a PC gaming one.

Same as last weekend... Resident Evil: Requiem.

@Matroska Congrats, that was my first Yakuza game and finishing the story let alone getting one hundred percent felt like a journey that spanned the test of time itself. I played it over four timezones so that probably didn't help, it seems to be a great franchise but I'll wait before trying another. Have you played the other games in the series?

The one thing it did really well was introduce new players to the characters/world and the previous branches of the story. Without that I'd have had no idea what was happening and why. I'd never seen so many mini-games in one game. Those dungeons needed a bit more variety, I cheated and bought the final 15 levels needed for max level. Everyone I asked said they bought a story DLC to get there, I cut an even bigger corner and once that platinum popped slept for ten hours. There were hours of cut-scenes, even thinking about it makes me tired so I get why you might be taking a break.

I’m jumping back into Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Gotta try out Geese Howard. Also will Continue my play through with Rise of the Tomb Raider.

After seeing all the praise RE Requiem has gotten I’ve decided to jump into RE1 Remake. I’ve only played this series schizophrenically, so I decided I’m going to start my pilgrimage with the first game and work my way through. I’m almost done with it, I’m about halfway through the tunnels. If I beat it before the weekend is over I’ll be jumping right into RE2 Remake!

@Pigrotto Hell is Us is phenomenal. I really hope we get some sort of a sequel, even if it’s only a spiritual successor. Amazing story, art design, music, combat, monsters, just the whole package.

Finished Hell is Us a few weeks ago. Now it’s the backlog for me: DOOM: Dark Ages and Slitterhead. Mix that up with some Kirby Air Riders. Trying to wait on Requiem and save some money, but it is proving challenging… 😬

Great headset, I still have mine plugged in along with the PSVR2
I recently picked up Fracked (yet to play) which was very cheap (demo available) and Seperation is currently free.
My favourite VR1 games are Astro bot, Skyrim, Borderlands 2, RE7, Dirt Rally (delisted now), Ace combat VR missions, Battlezone, Walking Dead saints and sinners, Puzzling Places (really great especially if you have trouble finding games that don’t give you motion sickness), Hitman (janky and VR2 is much much better), Moss, Doom 3, Until Dawn, Farpoint, Red Matter.
Generally keep an eye on the sales as there has been some real bargains.

Skyrim VR is really very good, I’ve nearly 100% it which should tell you how much I’ve spent in that game.
Also I forgot Star Wars Squadrons and Blood & Truth, tbh the library is quite extensive as is the case with VR2 as well.

For best experiences you will need the Move controllers, Skyrim and Borderlands are both much better with the Moves.
Going back to Puzzling Places (I’ve spent 100+hrs in that game), I think there is a demo available.

Also you might want to check out Hotukdeals (assuming you are in the UK) as every time Sony has a new sale on, an outstanding person on there will post the new sale along with (in the comment section) a list of VR1/2 games with their prices and whether they are the lowest they have been. Very helpful.

I decided to buy The Knightling because it was half price and jump in blind. Glad I did because it’s a bright, vibrant old school adventure game with a big open world to explore with side missions, puzzles, dungeons and collectibles. Only negative so far is the lack of a lock on during combat, and a very slow block that makes parrying quite difficult. But I still highly recommend it, so far it’s been a pleasant surprise.

@GirlVersusGame Well I actually played the first Yakuza when it came out but didn't finish it. I've played a few, always liked them, but 8 (Infinite Wealth) is the first I actually finished. The Kiryu stuff with his memories, especially going to Kamurocho, hits pretty hard if you played the previous games - and also because it of course makes the player reminiscent about their own life 20+ years ago.

I didnt get burned out by Yakuza 8, though I admit I couldn't be bothered to finish Dondoko Island. It's Avowed that did that. Terrible combat, janky, kind of empty and shallow feeling, plus the stuff I said last post. I think if anything, coming at it from the overflowing, characterful and soulful Yakuza 8 made it feel even worse.

I’ll be putting the finishing touches on the platinum for RE9 this weekend. What a great game! Hope everyone has a great weekend of gaming!

@Matroska I cheated with Dondoko Island too. The trick is to craft two hundred or so builder's hats. Each one costs hardly any materials, takes up one tiny cell and pumps up your island rating, that allowed me to then craft buildings and sell the buildings for island currency, I then converted my Island currency and made six million dollars which I spent on clothes and weapons. I didn't see that island coming at all and didn't know if that was normal for a Yakuza game, I just know I wanted off the island fast. It really dragged the pacing of the game down but I'm OCD when it comes to completion so it had to be done. Cutting corners always helps.

I tried Avowed on Gamepass and couldn't get into it at all. The art was a little too weird, and like you said it was janky. I forgot it was even on PS5. Just wait until you experience Starfield, you'll really be gaming then (not really, it too lacks in depth and has a lot of jank, it needs more than a little polish, but it's coming)

Absolum! What a game! Can’t believe I’ve waited so long to get it! Almost done since I’ve been off work the last 2 days. Would call it the best roguelike I’ve ever played.

@GamingGod once the system update drops, apparently the system toggle will apply the new version to boost games with the original PSSR. Not sure how it will work out but if it does work well, id be annoyed with myself for not waiting 😂

@Pigrotto Dark Ages is a lot of fun. The movement and combat feels fantastic, very weighty. I was not a fan of Eternal at all, so Dark Ages is exactly what I was hoping for.

Kind of in limbo right now. I wrapped up the Stellar Blade platinum a few days ago and would like to continue playing it. Never did a run on Hard. Gonna save that for after PSSR 2 hits.

Absolutely hooked on Marathon. The gunplay is amazing and the runners different abilities make every fight very fun. Gotta stay on your toes because the AI is very tough and other players are way more ruthless than in Arc Raiders. Bungie did a great job with this one.

Buying RE9 once the severance money hits.

RE9. Although I just put the game on pause because a part in the basement scared me so bad I can’t continue. What I thought was a cutscene only thing has turned out to be a gameplay mechanic. Capcom are evil.

@GamingGod im the same on silent hill 2. Massively enjoyed it but the 2nd half was a bit off putting due to the poor pro update. Looking forward to having another run through it.

Finished Dark Souls Remastered and started DS2 which is still great if a bit clunky. It looks good still too, not far off the remaster. I’ve only got 2 cars left to get in GT7 too, so slmost there. There’s just the endurance races left in the power pack.

And then I will look at one of the recent demo's I downloaded. Depending on mood either Darwins Paradox, Pragmata or Anno Pax Romana.

Still playing RE9 and it's already been 9-10 hours but I am at half probably, so it will be 15+ hours when I'm done. Got to section where saving Grace in the church garden. Grace's section are amazing, I can already see one specific set-piece to be a classic from now on and I really would like to see her alone in the game, I am never missing Leon sections but he is still a badass of course. Can't wait to continue tomorrow!

I didn't like 2nd DLC much but 1st one was fun and 3rd one is straight up good and I really enjoyed it. Have fun.

Biggest release of the year for me with Marathon, absolutely love it and am absolutely hopeless at it !

I completed Silent Hill F. While waiting for Re9 disc to arrive I've gone back to astro bot. 90 bots rescued.

Also played Pragmata demo. It completely changed my mind - looking forward to play it next month.

@old_gamer74 Did you go after the collectibles too? some of those jumps and gravity defying maneuvers offered so little room for error. I'm sure it took twenty tries for one particular flower.

@Fiendish-Beaver just out of interest I take it you’ve tried the pro controller on switch/2? I’m the same with the joycon can’t stand them but the pro’s are superb, especially the switch 2 version.

@GirlVersusGame i don't have enough patience 🤣 there were a few flowers after go 19 I gave up on. Should have tried a 20th time 🤪 the final boss took me at least 19 goes too!

@Fiendish-Beaver honestly it’s the best money you could spend on the switch in my opinion and made me actually want to game on the system. Couldn’t imagine playing the Zelda’s or Metroid without it.

The S2 version has a few nice upgrades too like programmable back buttons and super silent/smooth sticks. It’s actually become my favourite controller and the battery lasts probably double the dualsense.

Finished Spiderman 2 earlier which was great. Some of the side collections were a bit annoying, but overall it was very good and the darkness to the story was done well. When they get round to number 3 it should be excellent with the villains they have set up for it.

Also killed False King Allant in Demon souls as for some reason I stopped at that point a while back. Not sure why I stopped but a quick 30m meant I got the completion there also.

Now on to Resident Evil Village as I'm that far behind on game releases. Gonna do a standard play through them return for a go on VR at a later date.
