First they need to fix Oblivion then do Fallout 3 properly and if they pull that off I would love a Morrowind remaster/remake. But dont release broken *****
Since last week I´ve finished a decent game and started playing a true masterpiece
Lost records: Bloom & Rage - So I've finished the game, its not bad but its not nearly as good as I had hoped and pretty much expected from Dont Nod so I´m a little dissapointed. Maybe thats unfair, maybe my expectations were to high, but thats how I feel.
Clair Obscur: expedition 33 - Wow, what a game!!! At the beginning of act 2 and its just amazing how good this is . All of it, the design, the soundtrack, everything. Most likely my GOTY right here. If you like RPGs and dont hate turn-based combat - play it! Or maybe play it regardless 🙂
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - and I'm a little dissappointed as its not as good as I hoped, meaning Life is Strange good, but its good enough for me to want to finish the story and see how it ends. It helps a bit that we're on a family trip and I'm playing on the portal (bloody awesome little device that), and this is the perfect kind of game for it. I might have dropped it otherwise and started Clair Obscur instead but I can wait a few more days to play that 🙂
Having more trouble than usual picking what game to focus on as right now there are both new games I reeeeaaaally want to play and at the same time the games in the backlog are looking at me with those puppy eyes wanting to be played as well. Ah well, its a nice problem to have. On to the games 😅
South of Midnight - played and finished. Its pretty good, loved the world and the art design and the soundtrack is very interesting and the story was decent. The fighting and the gameplay loop got a bit tedious but overall I enjoyed it!
Lost records - Started this before Oblivion remastered shadowdropped all of a sudden and Clair Obscure turned out to be a must play but I’ll finish this first. Its good, I’m not blown away yet but hopefully it’ll get there soon as I’ve not played for long but its not the same instant love as I had with LiS!
Also, the son really loves the Oblivion remaster. Its awesome to watch him play and be able to help him with some stuff instead of him watching YouTube videos for hints, I’m surprised how much I remember as I havent played this for 17 years or so. Cant wait to play it again myself 🙂
AC Shadows - I had a lot of gaming time this past week, so focusing on the main story I managed to both finish and platinum the game. Loved it, its my favorite AC since Black Flag. Dont really feel finished with the game though, even if its massive and I've played so many hours I just enjoy the world and the gameplay so much I might have to do some more side missions and castles. Brilliant game imo 🙂
Next up is South of Midnight and some smaller games on VR perhaps 🙂
AC Shadows - and still loving it! I dont burn out on these games, which is great for me 🙂 the patch that dropped earlier in the week was great, it made an already stunning world even more stunning on the Pro! What a world they've built, cant get enough! Also you can now sell/dismantle multiple items at once, but why the f that wasnt there from release is just baffling. Dont know how much of the main game I've done, I'm still on act 1 as I keep getting sidetracked and I love it 🙂
South of Midnight - Been looking forward to this so had to try it for a little bit but I could tell from that short time its s game I'll probably love. Very promising. But first Shadows, then this 🙂
Mainly AC Shadows - and I really, really enjoy it! As been said, it looks amazing. The seasons are a fun addition as well. I've changed the settings so that quest markers arent added to the map automatically but I need to either use scouts or search myself, increasing the immersion. I prefer playing as Naoe, as Yasuke feels a bit to powerful but he has his uses sometimes, like storming a castle and wreaking havoc! I also really like to expand and build the hideout. I've spent some time making japanese gardens, very fun. Cant wait to play more!
Atomfall - I've played about an hour but it didnt really click for me. Might be because I just want to play Shadows instead, so I'll leave it for now but might go back to it in the future!
Assassins Creed: Shadows - Im around 4 hours in and so far this is really good. First off it looks amazing on the Pro, been switching between 40 fps and 60 fps and Im settling on the balanced mode of 40 fps. Last night as I was climbing a tower there was a thunderstorm, and I ended up just sitting there enjoying the show. Very beautiful game. I also tuned the hud, removing health bars on enemies for example which makes it a lot more immersive. Gameplay and combat is great, combat is a lot better than I expected as playing as a ninja really means you need to be sneaky most o the time as open conflict against several opponents (they´ll come running from the noice) often ends with me dead. Exploration is fun, but its been done before as it’s an AC game. Cant wait to play more, I love these kinds of games and this one is very good on top of that so Im probnably looking at 60-100 hours of pure fun here 😊
Dragon Age: The Veilguard - So I´ve practically only been playing Veilguard as there are games coming soon I want to play and didn’t want to be in the middle of this game. It’s a good looking game with a sense of being in a beautiful fantasy world, art direction is great, and combat is good enough and exploration, meaning finding hidden chests etc, is fun. I finished the story and got the “bad” ending since I focused on the main story and did little else. There are some things I wish were better though, the story could have been more “seamlessly” told and some of the dialogs (and topics in those) I wasn’t interested in felt forced on me. However, after having watched the other endings, I feel like the one I got made the most impact on me and sort of felt right given the game is about fighting really powerful gods. I mean how good can that end?
All in all I enjoyed the game more than I expected, and don’t regret not doing all the side stuff that would have given me a “good” ending and I don’t see myself going back and completing all the side quests and go for the platinum which I often do in games like this, I´ll just be satisfied with my playthrough and leave it at that as Im happy with the ending I got.
A bit of all of that 🤓 Played it on the series S and just focused on the story but want to play it again and do everything but get the best experience which should be the ps5 pro 🙂
Im double dipping on Indy at some point, not decided on FH5 yet as I kind of bounced off that on Xbox after having played FH4 quite a lot and its more of the same but not as good buit if you´re new to the series or just love that type of game you´re in for a treat!
Avowed - I’ve finished the main story and I feel done with the game. It was a fun game once I started playing it for what it is and not what I wanted it to be. Looks good, great world thats fun to explore but too shallow for it to be a great game imo.
Warhammer 40k Space Marines 2 - Cant stop playing 😅 I got the platinum earlier in the week but I’ll keep playing it now and then as its so awesome. For the Emperor!
Dragon Age Veilguard - Hadnt planned to play this now but since it dropped on PS Plus I decided to give it a shot! I’m enjoying a lot so far, they’ve created a beautiful world that feels magical and I like the gameplay. Its not perfect but better than I expected after all the ***** surrounding the game.
Warhammer 40k - Space Marines 2 - I'm still having so much fun with this game. Wish there was more of everything with this game 🙂
Avowed - The game has grown on me. The solution to enjoying it more for me was that I stopped treating it as an AAA rpg (its to shallow and lacks that immersion and interactivity for that imo) and instead I’m playing it as an AA adventure game with fun exploration in a beautiful world and that works good. Mainly just doing the main quests with a bit of extra running around. Also lowered difficulty, dont want to have to grind for levels. So yeah, not a perfect game at all but enjoyable 🙂
I’ll get this on a deep sale just for the hell of playing Forza on my ps5 pro but didnt really love it that much when I played it on Xbox but its a beautiful game!
Warhammer 40k - space Marines 2 - still having so much fun with this games. Been playing some multiplayer and some of the operations, and I feel like I will keep playing this game for a long time. Might even go for the platinum 🙂
Avowed - I´ve managed to get maybe 6 hours in, and the game is growing on me despite some minor issues I have that might be something others dont really care about. The physics of the game is a bit all over the place which sadly my brain really registers and it brakes the immersion for me. Like, mugs are all breaking the laws of physics and cannot be moved whatever you do, grass doesnt catch on fire, NPCs are mostly (all?) standing still and also cant be hit with anything, unlimited arrows that dissapear after a few seconds, enemy weapons dissapear when they are defeated etc etc and Skyrim for example did all that a lot better 14 years ago. Its just something I expect in a first person RPG but that may be a non issue to some but its going to take some getting used to for me. It does look pretty good though, and runs fairly well on the Series S. Exploration and movement feels really good, combat is ok and the story and side quests so far are ok. Im a big fan ot these kinds of games and I love exploring the world. Hoping the game keeps growing on me and I really should try and enjoy it for what it is, not what I want it to be 🙂
As I commented last time, really good idea for an article and nice to see a mix of games recommended. Will check the ones I dont already own and see if I´ll add some to the backlog
Managed to get more playtime than normal this week, always nice 🤓
Sniper Elite Resistance - So, I got in a pickle after an autosave so decided to load an older save. Got in another similar situation with low health, being hunted and an autosave 😬 I realised I dont have the patience for this game as Im rushing to much. But I feel like I've shot enough Nazi balls off to happily drop it, at least for now!
Sayonara Wild Hearts - Having heard so much good about it I had to play it. And wow, what an experience! Its hard to explain what the game is, rytmn mixed with schmup with very cool graphics and a great soundtrack perhaps. Its also short, if you like great but different games I really recommend you give it a try 😀
Warhammer 40k Space Marines 2 - I wanted to play a game with a short enough campaign that I would be able to finish it before Avowed and there was a sale for this 🙂 Having played the trial I knew it was good but damn, I've really been enjoying this. It looks and plays really great and is just so much fun to play imo. I've finished the campaign but I need more! Thankfully theres operations and multiplayer 😀
I played and ejnoyed the game, but it isnt as good as the first. Still worth checking out if you like these kinds of games. I might double dip at a nice enough price to experience it on the pro 🤓
Life is Strange Double Exposure - I've managed to find the time to finish and platinum the game. Its a really good game imo, but I dont think its as good as the first Life is Strange or Before the Storm. Its more of a Hollywood story with a happy ending, which isnt bad in itself but the darker story and impact of the choices (especially the last one) in LiS felt more significant and emotional and theres no moment like that in Double Exposure which makes it a bit less good imo. Its also a new story with new powers but they still chose to go with Max as the lead character, which isnt necessary at all imo. The game is good enough to stand on its own. This all makes it sounds as I didnt enjoy the game but I really, really did and I look forward to more LiS in the future. Also looking forward to Lost Records 🙂
Sniper Elite Resistance - Playing in short bursts, still enjoying it!
Far Cry New Dawn - Had to try the 60 fps upgrade on the Series S, which is great and sort of made me want to play the game again. Hopefully I´ll get to play some co-op with my son but he and his friends have discovered how fun the Far Cry games are in co-op after finishing both 5 and 6 so I might not get the chance...
I dont think Resistance 3 sold very well which would explain it. Would love a fresh reboot to Resistance or maybe a remake of the first, instead of Resistance 4
The Plague Tale Requiem - finished and platinumed. What a game, great story that had me hooked from start to finish, even though it was my second playthrough. Love it!
Life is Strange Double Exposure - its been on my wishlist and its on sale so decided to get it. I'm a bit torn. I'm enjoying it a lot, feels great to play a Life is Strange game again but I really wish they left Maxs (and Chloes) story where it was. It was a great end to it. This game is not at the same level as the first LiS or Before the storm, which are amazing imo, but its not a bad game in itself at all. Just wish they would've gone with new characters as it really doesnt add anything to have Max in it and the game would have been better for it imo.
Sniper Elite Resistance - I've only played the first mission on my series S and enjoyed it. It looks a bit ***** though and its glitchy but its fun, more fun than I expected it would be as I dropped Sniper Elite 5 rather quick. We'll se how this one holds up for me but good start.
Eternal Strands - its on gamepass, so gave it 1-2 hours before giving up. Didnt like the combat among other things, and there are better games to spend my time with.
Imo FH4 was better and I got bored with FH5 pretty fast but I’ll probably get it in a deep sale down the line. I really hope it does well on Playstation, I want MS as a third party publisher in the future 🙂
It feels wierd seing Forza confirmed for Playstation. Even if we knew it was happening it wasnt really 100 percent in my mind but now that it is real its hard to grasp….
Thats good news, Xbox as a big successful publisher is great and it might mean I can save money not needing to buy as many consoles in the future but still play those awesome Xbox games I want
I’ve been focusing on The Plague Tale Requiem - whats surprising me, having played it once at release, is how good it is. Even if I remember the story, if not all the details, its really gripping me again. Amazing!
Spider-Man 2 - Finished it, amazing game. Miles is still my favorite of the three Spider-Man games but some of the main missions in S-M 2 are incredible.
The Stanley parable - finished and platinumed. Brilliant game, great humour. The end is really never the end with this game. Not even sure I´ve seen all the game has to offer but having seen most of it I can put it down now.
Star Wars: Tales from the galaxys edge VR - not been feeling the urge to play it at all since last week, which is pretty telling. Mediocre game, but I think I´m gonna drop it. There are other games I want to play instead.
A Plague Tale - Requiem - I played this back at release on the Series S but I'm going back to it now on the PS5 pro, really enjoying the game. Loved the first one as well, need to add the platinum of Requiem to the collection as it bugs me otherwise. Yes I’m wierd like that 😂
Managed to get quite a bit of game time since last week 😊
Jusant - Finished it, what an epic journey. Really enjoyed it, so much so I got the platinum.
Cocoon - Got reminded in EGs game of 2024 list that I had started but for some reason not finished EGs GOTY for 2023. Really cool game, it did fry my brain with some of the puzzles so I had to use a guide at some points. Very clever and very good game 😊
Spider-man 2 - Doing a ng+ and Im enjoying it, amazing (😊) game. Some of the main missions are just superb. Playing it on fidelity pro 40 fps and it looks so, so good. Usually prefer 60 fps but finally having a TV supporting this mode makes it my new favorite, perfect mix between quality and performance.
The Stanley parable - Fun little game, nice dry humour. Need to get the platinum for this, its an interesting list but that one trophy that requires you to play for a full Tuesday is going to be a bitch however its done 😅
Star Wars: Tales from the galaxys edge VR - its “free” on plus, might as well play it. Just an hour or two in, its mediocre so far but shooting lasers if still fun and its Star Wars so I´ll play some more 😊
You are spouting a lot of personal thoughts and opinions posing them as facts more or less, when they are not. Your opinions are yours, you are free to express them but please separate that from trying to predict the doom of the ps5 as it makes absolutely no sense.
I´ll buy and play it at some point, probably pretty soon, as Im a fan of LiS and Max but I dont have high expectations. Should have been Dont Nod that developed the game sincve its another Max story but yeah...

Really enjoyed this game back in the day, so I’ll happily play it again. And for the hell of it, I’ll do it on my ps5 pro 🙂

@KingPev
I enjoyed it, so give it a try! Took me maybe around 10 hours or so to finish

Having more trouble than usual picking what game to focus on as right now there are both new games I reeeeaaaally want to play and at the same time the games in the backlog are looking at me with those puppy eyes wanting to be played as well. Ah well, its a nice problem to have. On to the games 😅

@EfYI
I also chose to go with a male Elf rouge 🙂 maybe would have been more fun with something like a Qunari..: maybe next game
And good luck with the romances 🤓

Life is Strange Double Exposure - I've managed to find the time to finish and platinum the game.
Re: PlayStation Fans Could've Had Another Resistance Game, But Sony Said No
I dont think Resistance 3 sold very well which would explain it. Would love a fresh reboot to Resistance or maybe a remake of the first, instead of Resistance 4
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 566
Have a great weekend 🙂
Re: Poll: Are You Buying Forza Horizon 5 on PS5?
Imo FH4 was better and I got bored with FH5 pretty fast but I’ll probably get it in a deep sale down the line. I really hope it does well on Playstation, I want MS as a third party publisher in the future 🙂
Re: Forza Horizon 5 Confirmed for PS5, Out This Spring
It feels wierd seing Forza confirmed for Playstation. Even if we knew it was happening it wasnt really 100 percent in my mind but now that it is real its hard to grasp….
Re: Xbox Was December's Biggest Publisher, and 64% of Its Sales Were on PS5, PS4
Thats good news, Xbox as a big successful publisher is great and it might mean I can save money not needing to buy as many consoles in the future but still play those awesome Xbox games I want
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 565
I’ve been focusing on The Plague Tale Requiem - whats surprising me, having played it once at release, is how good it is. Even if I remember the story, if not all the details, its really gripping me again. Amazing!
Re: PS5 Console Exclusive Phantom Blade Zero Looks Mind Blowingly Good in Stunning Gameplay Trailer
Jaw is dropped
Re: Shuhei Yoshida on PSVR2: 'I'm Sorry'
Yeah Sony should support their own ***** headset more but that said its amazing to play good games on it and I dont regret buying one for a second!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 564
Played since last week
Yes I’m wierd like that 😂
Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's Lingering PS5 Pro Issues Reportedly Fixed
Gah, this makes me want to replay this as I now have a pro, but not enough time for all the games I want to play...
Re: 11 New Games Are Coming to PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week
Im impressed with the line up of games, nice start to the year!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563
Just an hour or two in, its mediocre so far but shooting lasers if still fun and its Star Wars so I´ll play some more 😊
Re: You'd Better Believe The Last of Us 2 Demands a PSN Account on PC
Really dont understand the outcry but then what do I know, I dont play on PC.
Re: PS5 Tipped to Top Switch 2 Sales in the US This Year
@djlard
You are spouting a lot of personal thoughts and opinions posing them as facts more or less, when they are not. Your opinions are yours, you are free to express them but please separate that from trying to predict the doom of the ps5 as it makes absolutely no sense.
Re: Random: The Elder Scrolls 6 Announcement Is Now as Old as Skyrim Was Back Then
I have such high hope for ES 6 but so low expectations after Starfield it makes me feel dumb for even hoping.
Re: Square Enix Wonders Why Life is Strange: Double Exposure Didn't Work Out
I´ll buy and play it at some point, probably pretty soon, as Im a fan of LiS and Max but I dont have high expectations. Should have been Dont Nod that developed the game sincve its another Max story but yeah...
