Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Showcase Announced for Tomorrow

darylb24

As 95%+ of CP2077 owners do not have a PS5 Pro, even if there is an update, it won't take up much of the runtime and will probably just beef up RT and resolution. Like a lot of the other pro upgrades, the GPU stuff will see a bit of a boost.

Edit - based on what CDPR staff are hinting it looks like its just going to be a car related update lol.

Re: 'It's Not About Checking Off a Map, It's About Engaging with What Excites You': Ghost of Yotei PS5 Gameplay Stuns

darylb24

This sequel has added some QoL features, which will certainly enhance what was already a good first game.

If I am being real, this is GOT 2.0, With Graphics a bit better vs the PS5 version of GOT and a new protagonist. It's not the generational leap like a Ratchet and Clank PS4 game vs the latest PS5 game, as GOT was already excellent for PS4, but I feel like I will enjoy the story all the same, and I am up for some more Ghost after a few years' break.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on Ghost of Yotei?

darylb24

It defentily feels quite simualr to GOT and I dont they will get away with putting a 3rd game out like that. Because the first game was very good I will get this but the whole vengance thing has been done by AC Shadows with Naoes story of killing a bunch of evil guys and the Ghost part is just the part Jin did before.

What I do like is some of the small gameplay improvements that have been added and some nice QOL features.

I would have liked to know about difficulty modes and also what PS5 Pro features would be available.

Re: 'We're Just Getting Started': Sony Marks 15 Years of PS Plus with Future Pledge

darylb24

To be honest, I am not happy with the removal of features like PS Stars, which was one of the main reasons I subscribed.

Also, cloud saves should be free like it is on Xbox, tbh.

I hope there will be some stronger additions to the service, like Cyberpunk 2077, but a bit newer, or some day 1 Indie and AA games. I feel like the games added are often a little too old and discounted to the point where I already own them.

The main plus points are a good PS4 back catalog of 1st Party and 3rd party JRPGS and cloud streaming, which can be native now on the PS Portal.

Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Chime in on Xbox Game Pass Impact

darylb24

Glad the report was corrected, although I fear the damage has been done with those who seem obsessed with seeing Game Pass fail (even though it won't anytime soon).

Like I have said before, as soon as it becomes unsustainable for MS to keep Game Pass, they will cut it quicker than a master chef with vegetables. They only care about ROI, just like Sony, Nintendo, and any other multi-trillion/billion dollar business.

Re: Blackpink's Lisa Is the New Global Face of PlayStation

darylb24

I can't say I am surprised that the majority of commentators have not heard of LISA before. Sony is targeting a younger demographic here, as they have the very real threat of Gen Z gamers moving away from console gaming, and they need to keep the PlayStation brand relevant for Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

The majority of us 30,40, 50 somethings got sucked in as a younger person in the PS1, PS2 era with some slightly younger 30 and 20 something growing up with PS3/4.

Sony has to constantly do the marketing legwork now to ensure brand loyalty remains in the future for the kids and teens of today.

A good business move overall.

Re: PS6 to 'Push the Boundaries' of Graphics, Doubles Down on Machine Learning

darylb24

The reality is that AI and machine learning will be essential for Sony and Microsoft to deliver any meaningful graphical and FPS improvements while doing so at an accessible cost base for the mass consumer.

I am concerned that the future "accessible" cost base will be around £600/$650, though.

Sony needs to start planning now to deliver a much stronger 1st party lineup for PS6. The PS5 gen has been poor with few original concepts and ideas. Wolverine and Intergalactic are fresh new IPs that should really give Sony a boost, but it's looking more and more like PS6 software.

Re: Square Enix 'Aware' of Clair Obscur's Success, Ponders Turn-Based RPG Revival

darylb24

Honestly if Square Enix didn't look at the success of Persona 5/Royal selling over 20 million copies to date and didn't pivot, I doubt they'll do it for E33.

E33 is objectively an 8/10 game which has flaws but due to our extremely low standards on games these days it's somehow the best game ever.

Hot take I don't think it's even the best game in the first 6 months of this year. It's a good game don't get me wrong but it it's not a true great like a Zelda, BG3, RDR2

Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss Says Sony Has Never Really Seen Nintendo As a Rival

darylb24

Honestly, if Sony wasn't worried about Nintendo they will be now. This isn't the PS4 golden generation anymore. It's the live service laden, money wasting remake generation where new IP is sparse and the best we can hope for is a sequel which might not even be as good as the last game. I'll just get the rare PS games I want when they come to PC.i can get everything else on Switch 2 or PC.

Re: Yep, PlayStation's PC Games Will Be Playable on Xbox's New Handheld System

darylb24

I am seeing a lot of inaccurate information about the level of involvement Microsoft had in this device. They helped design the device and rebuilt the OS from the ground up, specifically for Xbox gaming. This is not just a Rog Ally with an Xbox button. It's a custom-built piece of hardware/software with equal inputs.

There is literally a 10-minute video on the Xbox YouTube channel which explains this, but of course, I can imagine certain people have not watched it and made assumptions.

And tbh I don't think many PS5 players care that more players get access to the games.

Re: 'Good Luck with That' - The Outer Worlds 2 $80 Price Has Gone Down Horribly with PS5 Players

darylb24

I would be curious to see how it lands with the mass market. I can imagine most, like me will play this on Game Pass across PC/Xbox systems. You could do a "is Fifa bad" poll and most would vote yes on here, yet it still sells millions at the $90-100 price point.

The game itself could be a AAA game, but due to the first gam,e the perception is among us hardcore gamers is that its going to be more of an AA game. I feel like MS was aware of this, but wanted to cover their backs with the US economy being unstable. When Sony does release its next AAA game (hard to know when) it will be $80 and £80 because, unlike MS they like to keep price parity via charging its large UK market more to cover cost.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced for PS5 at Xbox Games Showcase?

darylb24

@LogicStrikesAgain, I just prefer not to be locked to an ecosystem for certain games. I think that is pretty reasonable. I'm free to choose what I like and dislike just as you are. I would be very surprised if Clockwork Rev was Xbox and PC only, given Xbox seems keen now to bring all their games across to Playsation and Nintendo (where possible).

I meant the studios they brought - They kept The Outworlds Multiplat, Senua, Doom , and the other IP's they brought in.

Going to end this here as you have your own thoughts and this will just drag on.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced for PS5 at Xbox Games Showcase?

darylb24

@LogicStrikesAgain The fact is they are keeping their vast library of games multiplat, no money hatting or exclusive deals. Clockwork revolution and grounded 2 will almost certainly come to other platforms. You are making an assumption that they are exclusive despite Microsoft clearly outlining their multiplat strategy.
