Almost half of all Mafia: The Old Country copies were sold on PS5, according to sales estimates from Sensor Tower.
The data tracker predicts the single player narrative game has sold 800k copies since launch, with 48.67% of those on Sony’s console. A further 37.86% are predicted to have sold on Steam, with just 13.47% on Xbox.
The large split in favour of PS5 makes sense as PlayStation players have generally gravitated towards cinematic, single player campaigns. Despite being set in a small open world, Mafia: The Old Country is a largely linear story-based game.
With many people now wrapping up the plot, dev Hangar 13 has announced it’ll be adding more content to the release for free in the relatively near future.
On its X (or Twitter) account, it confirmed that Free Ride is “on its way” with “new activities and gameplay”.
The Free Ride option in remake Mafia: Definitive Edition added a ton of new things to do, including Phone Booth Missions, Races, Taxi Driving, and more. We’d expect similar additions to the new title which should help with its longevity beyond the collectibles, which you can find in our Mafia: The Old Country guide.
