@LogicStrikesAgain It's more expensive on PS5 now with the price increases, sadly. I would rather try something out on Game Pass first before I decide to buy it.

Not a surprise, I think it will outsell PS5 across their respective lifetimes.

Sony had zero issue breaking the record in the pandemic against the original Switch/Xbox Series, and any other console launch for that matter, and its almost certain it won't outsell the Switch or PS2. It might not even outsell the PS4.

A disappointing generation, I doubt I will get PS6 unless they start offering more 1P games I am interested in. The sequels so far seem to be a worse version of the original game, and this year is just 2 more sequels to add to the pile. I will use the Switch 2 for the JRPGs.

Microsoft won that case because the plan was too keep Activision games 3rd party. They stuck to their word and and now making higher revenue and profits than ever. Good for them.

You could say the story will be left on a cliff hanger...

This game looks bad for 2015, let alone 2025. The game is about AI and selfish corporate greed.. they must be self projecting. I wish I got paid.

Honestly, I made £30-£50 a year of free PSN credit, so it will be a big miss. With Nintendo withdrawing its gold coins, Xbox is now the only place where I can get store credit towards games.

Sony keeps games off other platforms "for some reason" all the time. Technically everything that has come to PS so far has been a timed exclusive, so it makes sense. I would expect more of this for certain games in the future because they want to drive users to Game Pass (PC/Cloud, not just Console).

I would be curious to see how well the game sells on PS5 and if it's worth the time and effort of a port and launch. I really enjoyed the game but it is an acquired taste and it seems like the majority of gamers dislike the game.

If it sells well it will show that there is a silent majority outside the gaming echo chamber that want the game or it will do badly and Microsoft would have wasted time and resources on a port that won't sell.

Herman Hulst should have been fired years ago. The PS5 generation has been terrible for first party and the PS4 gen goodwill driving console sales will exhaust eventually. It's interesting to see I'm not alone in this thinking.

Sony should only have a showcase if they have actual 1st party games to show (Wolverine and other IP). They realised due to the previous very poor showcases that there isn't any point basing your whole show around the 1 game they have.

I think it's fair to be skeptical but unfair to be critical. I feel a bit skeptical about how this game will turn out, quality-wise, but I will keep an eye out for reviews and any additional information the marketing team will hopefully provide.

Considering the game is out in less than 3 weeks, there is very little information to make an informed purchasing choice. It is also launching right in the middle of the Switch 2 launch and Summer Games Fest with all those new 2025 launch dates - So I was expecting more marketing by now.

I will play this on Steam, it will undoubtedly set a new standard in gacha games.

I really enjoyed the game on Xbox and would buy it again for PS.

A truly disappointing generation, the worst of any playstation generation ever. Nearly all sequels and Remakes. We are lucky to get 1 or 2 first party developed games a year.

Also to be clear Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin and Death Stranding are not 1st party games the are 2P. To be a 1st party game Sony has to not only own the rights the the IP but the development studio that creates the game.

It's the same as Ninja Gaiden 4 is not a 1st party game even though it's published by Microsoft. Funding a game doesn't mean it's first party or you would have Microsoft claiming all the games it's given Gamepass money to like expedition 33 are 1st party.

There is nothing to stop DS2 coming to any other platform because Kojima Productions is not owned by Sony and the IP is not owned. They even use 505 as the alternative publisher for other platforms.

Companies can use this performative language to please investors but it's just not true.

That honestly looks like a terrible deal that would never be promoted outside of a PlayStation website.

The empty discs are just e-waste. Sony and Microsoft want to go all digital like Steam, so they should get it over and done with. Physical collectors could still buy the limited box sets with a code in as they are getting it for the unique items, not the disc. Disc collectors, I'm sorry, it's time to move forward.

@AK4tywill You can explore between missions. It's technically open world but gaming media are running with that story that is some final fantasy 13 style linear game.

@KillerBoy it's the same as mafia 1 and 2. Story is the main focus but you can free roam.

The developers said it's technically like Mafia one and 2, an open world but the main focus is the story as the world is more of a set peice. You can still free roam but obviously there is little to do.

Not really surprising that MS owed studio creates the best port using the MS back end tools. The PS5 versions will get patched it's really not that deep.

The developer said the world is explorable like Mafia 1 and 2, but the main focus is story - so yeah it has a shallow open world but missions are the focus. You can go off the linear path but you won't find much - so it's not like a typical linear game.

The fact that I can buy and play all 3 parts of Final Fantasy 13 on my Xbox but not my PS4 or 5 tells you everything you need to know.

These games are far from cozy games, they can get pretty stressful!

Most Xbox console players are moving over to PC or cloud, so yes Microsoft gaming has significantly more active players than Playstation.

I moved on from Physical games years ago. I might get some for the Switch 2 to save space, but most Xbox and PS5 games just use up SSD space anyway.

The UK Physical market has been weakened by games hiding in Sports Direct, Argos hiding in Sainsbury's, a small selection in Currys, and then games hiding in Smyths toy store. HMV is now online only. Most supermarkets I have been to also no longer sell video games. CeX is the only major outlet that sells second-hand games or does trade-ins.

The UK needs a standalone gaming shop like Game/Gamestation used to be, but I do not see it happening now.

Into Act 2 now, sitting at about 9/10 - would be 10/10 but the game has some AA issues, which are to be expected.

MS laughing all the way to the bank as usual. Making smart business moves. Plus another quiet year for playstation means they can sell more of their games and have them sell very well too.

Really enjoyed playing this game. I just finished it recently.

I will be pre-ordering closer to launch, I have a few other games to get before (mainly Switch 2 ones).

Great game, not the pinnacle of turn-based games, but exceptional for the price.

What? Only 1 delay? RDR 2 had 3! I expect to play the game winter 2026 haha.

I will genuinely be shocked if GTA 6 is not delayed into 2026.

I do think this date change would have nothing to do with the GTA launch date because it's a minimal shift.

Going to grab this on Switch 2 if possible
