@NoCode23 They won't delay it beyond 2026 just to wait for the PS6 to come out in 2027 (potentially). They will just make a port for the PS6 game when they get the dev kit.
From the current reviews of Inzoi, it's very bare bones and will need a lot of updates to even get to the Sims 4 level.. which is in itself basic. It looks better, but right now it's shallow and has not been reviewed well on PC so far.
If I am basing this on every other modern R* game launch, this would be delayed to a Sept - Nov window next year.
As for next-gen hardware coming in 2027/28, I do not see them waiting for that, as it would make zero financial sense to skip the current 100+ million PS5/Xbox Series install base after spending upwards of 2 billion dollars developing for those 2 consoles.
Great graphics and soundtrack. The environments were beautiful if a bit shallow. What got me was how predictable and disappointing the end of the story was.
I managed to get a PS5 on one of the many steep discounts (paid £330). I am curious if they will sell another 40 million units in 2-3 years. It's possible, but I think it will fall just a bit short of the PS4 gen. The software has not been as strong, and I am not seeing anything to push that needle apart from GTA 6 that will help sales for all consoles. I think ND's game is a PS6 game now.
@Reyzore, I feel the same way. I will buy the game, but I fully expect it to be mostly like GOT with an AC Shadows feature set, like a vengeance plot, flashbacks, and a similar time.
I think the way Naoe does combat in AC Shadows is more realistic, given the size/weight differences of the enemies. Atsu feels a little bit like the devs copied and pasted Jin's strength onto her, so it loses some of the combat realism that the previous game had.
AC Shadows has the destructible items too, which adds something, so I hope Yotei incorporates that tech too.
As long as it costs under $600/£550 or less, the PS5 pro-like hardware should make the majority of consumers happy. It will likely have an improved AI upscaler to push games further with cheaper tech. The updated CPU should help smooth out any FPS issues that the PS5 has with UE5 games. GTA 6 will be the true barometer of how much gas PS5 has left, and I think people will be hoping for 2027 soon because the CPU is the thing that will hold the PS5/Pro back as we get into 2026/7.
We will see the full power, and the very real limitation of hardware that was already aged in 2020, when GTA 6 comes out.
I much prefer GamePass as I can get much cheaper monthly keys and I saved a lot of money on stuff like The Persona 3 Reload DLC and will get to play games like Ninja Gaiden 4 and the Outer Worlds 2 for no extra cost. It works out about £11 a month for Ultimate.
PS Extra is decent but the new additions are often games I already played can be very miss.
@Wwe2k25 They are - they just stole Xbox users rather than gain new ones. Xbox has sold significantly less consoles this generation while PlayStation has sold roughly in line with last gen. The majority of Switch owners also have another console too.
It makes sense, the console business is shrinking, and more and more people are moving over to PC or mobile.
It's taken most of Xbox's userbase that it can but it's also losing players to PC now. If Sony wants that year-on-year growth, they have to find new players in different places that already exist. It sure won't be Gen Alpha.
The so-called "Japanese giant" is much more like the "American giant" these days. SIE has stripped out the majority of its Japanese talent and culture for overtly American culture. It's a shame because that's what made it great, but it's just what it is these days. I can get all my JRPGs on my Switch 2 now, and often even titles that Sony can no longer get.
All the anime pfps in the comments section is chefs kiss.
Also I am looking forward to see what part 3 brings. By September we will know how packed Janauary and Febuary are for 2026. I suspect there will be a ton of games between Jan - Mar then July to Nov.
It seems almost certain that $80 games will become the norm for AAA games across all platforms by the end of 2026. Sony won't be looking at Xbox; they will be looking at Nintendo (who can and are getting away with it).
Tbh they just look like they are begging for another Game Pass deal. The company owner is very dodgy too not surprised MS don't want to associate with him anymore.
@DennisReynolds To be fair Xbox gave Expedition 33 a developer direct amongst other trailers so they had good marketing behind them plus a game pass deal. Having popular voice actors tied to game certainly helped too.
That's a good length and right in line with what happened for GOT. 25 hours for the story, 45 hours for all the side quests, and about 65 hours to get the platinum. These days, I find 65 hours to be the upper limit for most games I play, and that's if they are really good. If they are just good, 30 hours is normally my max. The exception would be upcoming generational games like Persona 6 or GTA 6.
I hope there is a divergence from the AC Shadows story of Naoe and her wolf pack getting revenge on a bunch of guys/gals who wronged her family.
The flashback scenes (also in AC Shadows) could be a step up if the are truly on demand like hinted.
If its more linerar with less bulk and meater side quests, that would be a great step up too.
I think Yotei could have really done with coming out last year, or just not so close to Shadows, but I guess I can do another historical japanese hunting game within 6 months.
@ShogunRok Ziff Davis > IGN Entertainment / Hookshot > PS/NL/PX is what I am seeing, maybe I should have said all part of Ziff Davis umbrella instead. I don't mean to be skeptical, and I fully understand it's a business but unfortaunaly I struggle to see clearly what is genuine and what is done for clickthtough. It's no direct slant on you though more the trust issues with the business model.
As 95%+ of CP2077 owners do not have a PS5 Pro, even if there is an update, it won't take up much of the runtime and will probably just beef up RT and resolution. Like a lot of the other pro upgrades, the GPU stuff will see a bit of a boost.
Edit - based on what CDPR staff are hinting it looks like its just going to be a car related update lol.
I played this one 15 years ago and had a great time - no need for me to revisit, but it would make more sense for the younger generations that did not get to play it yet.
This sequel has added some QoL features, which will certainly enhance what was already a good first game.
If I am being real, this is GOT 2.0, With Graphics a bit better vs the PS5 version of GOT and a new protagonist. It's not the generational leap like a Ratchet and Clank PS4 game vs the latest PS5 game, as GOT was already excellent for PS4, but I feel like I will enjoy the story all the same, and I am up for some more Ghost after a few years' break.
It defentily feels quite simualr to GOT and I dont they will get away with putting a 3rd game out like that. Because the first game was very good I will get this but the whole vengance thing has been done by AC Shadows with Naoes story of killing a bunch of evil guys and the Ghost part is just the part Jin did before.
What I do like is some of the small gameplay improvements that have been added and some nice QOL features.
I would have liked to know about difficulty modes and also what PS5 Pro features would be available.
To be honest, I am not happy with the removal of features like PS Stars, which was one of the main reasons I subscribed.
Also, cloud saves should be free like it is on Xbox, tbh.
I hope there will be some stronger additions to the service, like Cyberpunk 2077, but a bit newer, or some day 1 Indie and AA games. I feel like the games added are often a little too old and discounted to the point where I already own them.
The main plus points are a good PS4 back catalog of 1st Party and 3rd party JRPGS and cloud streaming, which can be native now on the PS Portal.

Re: Don't Expect Ghost of Tsushima, Jin Sakai References in PS5 Sequel Ghost of Yotei
SP would be stupid not to add some kind of link in there. It would give the game a greater depth if there is a connection between the two somehow.
If they don't it will be another argument against the 2nd game not being as good as the firs (looking at you Spiderman, GOW, Horizon and TLOU)
