State of Play x 007 First Light PS5

Sony has announced a new State of Play livestream will take place this week, and it will focus entirely on the upcoming James Bond game from IO Interactive, titled 007 First Light.

The deep dive will include more than 30 minutes of gameplay, and will feature "a playthrough of Bond’s first mission as an MI6 recruit. The action includes everything from high-speed car chases to on-foot stealth sequences and shootouts. Stay tuned after the playthrough for insights from IO Interactive on the intense espionage gameplay."

The State of Play streams live this Wednesday, 3rd September, at the following times:

  • North America: 11am PDT / 12pm MDT / 1pm CDT / 2pm EDT
  • UK/Ire: 7pm BST
  • Europe: 8pm CEST / 9pm EEST
  • Asia/Oceania: 3am (Thu) JST / 2am (Thu) AWST / 4am (Thu) AEST

The PS5 game comes from Hitman developer IO Interactive, and is slated to launch at some point in 2026. Since we now know Sony is teaming up for a dedicated State of Play all about the game, it seems the hardware manufacturer has some sort of marketing deal in place for the title.

Here's the setup from the studio:

007 First Light is a thrilling narrative action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive. Follow James Bond as a young, resourceful, and sometimes reckless recruit in MI6's training program, and discover an origin story of the world’s most famous spy.

We'll have a Live article presenting the State of Play show on 3rd September. Will you tune in to see what's up with 007 First Light? Let us know in the comments below.
