I really enjoyed the show. It is a lot like Hitman with added mechanics and a 007 skin, but that is what I expected, and I think I will enjoy this one. Any performance issues can be ironed out in the next 6 or so months.
I watched the livestream and the game does look good fun but performance and that motion blur looked really rough. Strangely there is a very brief section at the end where it did look a smooth 60fps, so I'm hoping that is more representative of the game or perhaps a performance mode.
On the positive side, I did like the mix of gameplay elements, from classic Hitman stealth to all out action, taking weapons off enemies, throwing them and an abundance or red barrels, plus driving sections too.
Watched it on delay and the bits I saw looked really great, glanced up at bits as I was working. But as soon as they said 'Here's the first mission' I fast forwarded. Quite why I (or anyone else for that matter) want to ruin the start of the game is beyond me. Why spoil the surprise?! Looking forward to the reviews and hoping it's good.
I've never been much of a Hitman fan but I think this looks different enough to possibly be good.
I do think that they need to do a bit of work with the fluidity of switching between their melee animations. It's clearly more advanced than what they have done before but the speed changes just seem a bit odd at the moment. Enough time to tweak and improve though.
I want it as soon as possible. But then I still haven’t played Indiana Jones cause it’s not really dropped in price so I hope I can get this sooner rather than later.
Looks incredible, can't wait for March.
I wasn't particularly thrilled with the Uncharted 3-esque plane setpiece (especially with those abysmal framerate dips and obnoxious motion blur), but the rest of it looked fine. The best part of the State of Play was easily the narrated demonstration of the espionage and combat stuff at the end.
Looks like cheap Uncharted. Doesn't look good at all,big skip.
Brits will destroy the game, while press will love it 🤯
Looks good. My one complaint is that this Bond seems a bit less suave than normal, coming across as more smug here. But overall, I'm liking what I'm seeing here.
The developers have clearly borrowed a lot from their Hitman games, but I'm glad to see the vehicle sections and gunfights in here. It wouldn't be a Bond game without them.
Looks good to me!
Looks like a reskinned Hitman for the most part. That is by no means a bad thing, hitman is incredible, I did think they'd try a bit more to be different though.
The bits that were less Hitman, were sadly not impressive. The whole gunfight scene with the plane had me grimacing. That did not look good at all and im not on about from a technical standpoint, just the fact that he seemed completely bulletproof. trained military men missing whole clips of shots point blank as he strolls over to them and disarms them, perhaps it was on easy mode (if there is a difficulty setting) and its an easy fix but an odd choice to demo that part like that.
SPOILERS:
They're not used during take off, they're there to help slow the aircraft on landing. 🙄
No purchase. 😂
With 007 frames per second it seems
Looks like the child of Uncharted x Hitman. I like it but it was a bit rough on the technical side.
Looks like a whole lot of "You are leaving the mission area," to me.
@Bluemoon2008 the bulletproof thing has always been my problem w the Bond series. He just always gets out unscathed in the films I've seen.
looks like a mix of uncharted and hitman , looks pretty good , and it looks much better then i expected. its gonna have to compete with gta 6 though.
@crimsontadpoles isn't that the whole point he's young and cocky and lacks the experience of an experienced bond that's typical of young males who want to compete for the alpha position 😂
I am not the target audience for this IP, and the first showing of this game did not appeal to me at all, so i decided not to watch this live.
But now that i’ve watched it, i must say it does look good. Combat looks good, shooting as well, graphics are nice, love these big crowds, nice gameplay, only the driving looks a bit weird and floaty.
But all in all, it impressed me, good SoP. Now on to the next one! 😉
I still need to play the Hitman games (old and new), but loved what today's State of Play showed off.
I'm a big James Bond fan, have seen every single film since GoldenEye.
This is generic spy action game they called Bond to help it sell. Nothing about this says 007. It's like Tom Cruise made a game.
Game looked amazing and I'm a fan of James Bond from the movies to the games, and will probably pick this up day one
@TheKurgan Takeoff warning alarm is going haywire with those flaps up.
