@Rudy_Manchego I'm thinking in November I'm gonna pay up front for the ps5 an extra controller and the dock maybe a couple of games and sign my name as well to walk out with the xbox s with the game pass as well.

Hell of a deal if you ask me, 20 quid a month gets you a console and game pass ultimate plus ea's game pass.

All I can say is, the the xbox s has received significant demand for orders from retailers in the u.k.

I figure it's primarily due to it being so cheap and at this time looks like it will out sell the series X.

@GigaGaia They actually as a company have probably set themselves modest sales figures I would guess!

If anything their worst case scenario would be if they sell less than the xbox one. If it's similar they'll call it a successful launch, watch and see.

Its just frustrating from a retail perspective at this stage to have no confirmed release date for either machines.

It's become a bit of a running joke around distributors and retailers this.

Sony and Microsoft we all know the consoles are coming but for the love of god a date and a price has to be placed on point of sale before it can be displayed.

Old news plenty of developers (large and small) have complained to Sony in the UK about the store.

Not forgetting the amount of times that I have witnessed myself of the store actually having to shut down because of what I can only assume was a software issue!

Last week point of sale PS5 merchandise for retailers became available to order. This means Sony is going to announce the date and price very soon.

@LiamCroft Right, I'm just looking forward to what these games will be like running on the ps5. The load times are practically non existent on optimised games.

It's a perfect game if you've got half an hour to spend but after that it kinda gets old. Definitely better with friends though.

I got this free yesterday (perk of the job) a 20 gb patch to download then I thought I will stick it on for five minutes cause it was half 11 at night just to see what it was like and ended up playing it till after one.
So I guess I liked it.

Not really surprised by the feedback on the beta, dc universe online had the same problems but they kept adding good content and that meant fans would come back.

@UnlimitedSevens As you said it's not the normal run of things and the rrp of the ps5 will also have to take into account the current increased cost that the retailers are facing during a very difficult time. Not forgetting manufacturing, shipping, transport, distribution and pr/advertising which are all facing problems and ever increasing costs.

In the real world it's got nothing to do with what Microsoft are selling the xbox at as their going through the same problems with coming up with a final rrp.

If Sony was planning to increase their usual shipping forecasts in September from the likes of asia to the rest of the world. That would be ample time from a distribution perspective for a release in the middle of November to the end of November. Just saying the rumours are probably spot on!

Still wondering how the effect of the world's economy going down the toilet is gonna effect the long term future of gaming.

Something has been wrong with ubisoft for a few years now and when I watched playing hard it was clear that there is a serious problem with the hierarchy there.

@playstation_king back in the early nineties people were paying £150 notes for the import version of street fighter 2 on the snes.

They can charge whatever they like it's what people are willing to pay that drive market forces.

I like the idea behind the game i love gameplay that let's you experiment with different elements as you can come up with something unique and fun. It's a pity about the technical problems but im sure they'll patch these out eventually. I'm adding this to basket anyhows.

@Paranoimia over recent years the company i work for has took the position of the less engagement with the public through social media the better.

What once was thought of as a new avenue to increase pr awareness quickly became troublesome and had the completely opposite effect.

I expect more companies to follow this trend as many already have.

@gmxs apparently it's $450 to make a ps5 but when you add on tax and the retailers profit percentage. I'm thinking £500 in the UK and that's if Sony decide not to make a profit of each unit.

@JesWood13 you'd think Disney would make sure any ip they own after the battlefront2 controversy would tend to avoid anything looking like grind or micro transactions. I'm still unsure what kind of game this is but it's increasingly sounding like something like a ftp mobile game just with a bigger budget.

@banacheck A lot of titles are going to get mild upgrades. Me personally am waiting for the rdr2 update

I think economic factors and covid 19 are having a bigger effect on Sony when it comes to information flow than Microsoft at this time.

Microsofts strategy around the xbox division seems to fluctuate yearly. Why anyone should take anything they say seriously at this stage is beyond me!
