Death stranding, probably around 10 hrs in. I adore this world that kojima has created feels like a dream. I love preparing for a journey looking at the map deciding what to bring based on the landscape that I will tackle it's just an amazing breath of fresh air this.
Well if he's smart about it and starts of with productions with a budget around the 30 to 40 mill range he might do alright as he does come up with original concepts but I don't expect kojima productions will be doing any summer blockbusters any time soon.
@ApostateMage yeah I'm sort of playing like a corporate lackey at this point. My next play through is gotta be as a lieing thief scumbag that sinks everyone around them like the titanic ( like the lackey but 10 times worse lol)
I've been gaming since the 80's and I have read a lot of reviews since and now on YouTube watch a lot of them. Maybe because I'm what's called middle age these days I can't recall ever buying a game solely based on a review. Mostly reviews are just like a friends opinion there helpful but mostly I've made my mind up on a game quite a while before its even out on whether I'm buying or not. As for death stranding I was buying this practically from the time I saw the first gameplay footage and I want to see more games that are risky for the big aaa publishers rather than a 50 quid deja vu experience!
This game is just pure kojima, cut scene heavy CHECK unique gameplay mechanics CHECK bat s**t crazy story SUPER CHECK. Can't bloody wait (well I can cause outer world's is amazing)
Gotta say in the age where a mid range phone is anything from £500 to £800 possibly £900 with high end phones a £1000+, to say if a console that most gamers will use daily if it's more than £500 is suicide is a bit of a joke. If you can't afford to pay that day one its not a done deal most retailers do offer some sort of payment plan. On gaming forums it's a joke to say ohhh that's to much but will happily dump £80 on a preorder for a game from one of the big AAA publisher's
Who are known for releasing a half ass'ed product. Apologies if anyone's annoyed I feel quite strongly about this.
Ps5 all I wanna here is backwards compatibility. Sure we all know it will be powerful (well until ms release the $800 scarlet) but good bc possibly upscaled to 4 k will have ppl lose their s**t.
Watched a good few gameplay videos on YouTube and it seems fine probably be a few bugs but nothing game breaking, the only reason new Vegas was buggy was it was a rushed project there's a good video explaining that. Most of their other games are decent day one so I wouldn't flip out just yet.
Have been playing grid all weekend mostly, very enjoyable racer the sensation of speed while in cockpit view is great. Playing on a pro and it's very smooth.
@R1spam pretty sure most headsets from this gen will be fine but still £170 wow that's a lot of money and like most headsets you have to go buy reviews unless u know someone who has it if you are interested in buying one. 170 quid I'd want a demo.
I had the vr for just over a year I thought it was good fun but I just couldn't get comfortable with the headset and I never liked the screen being so close to my eyes. Maybe in the future when the tech improves I will revisit it but fair play to Sony for sticking to it.
While I hope to God the outer world's is good I can see myself putting it on hold to play this as I'm pretty confident there'll be enough new quirky ideas in death stranding that I'll just have to play it day one!
This game if you can even call it that is everything wrong with AAA games these days nicely wrapped up in a overly complicated package. So thx for that ubisoft top marks.
@Nickolaidas the reason I say 4k 60fps on the ps5 today is that the console is out next year, look at for example cyberpunk 2077 probably gonna be one of the best looking games ever if not the best. I do not think graphically it will be topped for some time and there'll be some sort of updated version when the ps5 launches. So the updated version I doubt will be a totally overhauled graphic engine and instead be more like a solid 4k running at 60 fps. As for the future I doubt this will be maintained but as I see it now it should be on day one an absolute must looking at the games currently in development.
Outside all the industry buzz words I expect it to do a solid 60fps and true 4k. It's still gonna retail around the 400 to possibly £500 so I won't be expecting miracles!
Recently took a notion for some strategy games so picked up Kronos and 8 bit invaders so been playing them and having a blast. Though makes me long for the glory days of red alert 2 and age of empires 2 to live again
For some unknown reason I have a soft spot for small developers trying to punch above their weight. One of my fave games this gen is elex. If this is decent I will bite the bullet and get this!

Any game were the world looks like craggy donegal gets a thumbs up from me.
Re: Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 Are Almost Certainly PS5 Games
I think this will be pretty different from d3 in scope and online so at the moment it's probably not for me more of a mmorpg I think!

@AbsurdShark yeah same thoughts here but at least it's an ok price. Though not my taste more of a hoodie fan.
Re: The Outer Worlds - Fallout: New Vegas Meets Mass Effect in This Role-Playing Masterclass
I cannot wait to get this feels like a long time since I played a really good rpg with real role playing were decisions actually affect the world.
