Re: Scarlet Nexus 1.05 Update Adds More DLC, New Modes and Costumes

Ward_ting

The bond episodes were the worst thing about this game. The dialogue was bloody awful and just full of such nonsense. Got to a point where I just skipped through most of the dialogue that wasn’t anything to do with the main story. Saying that I only played Yuito’s story and immediately deleted the game afterwards. The fighting mechanics were a lot of fun but I could not stomach any more of the awful dialogue and voice acting.

Re: Splinter Cell Remake Officially Announced, Not Open World

Ward_ting

I played the first Splinter Cell OBSESSIVELY! I used to be so strict with myself and would reload the game whenever I was seen by an enemy. Glad they are sticking to the linear story telling. I expect lots of in-game purchases for new skins and maybe access to different weapons and equipment… see you 2026.

Re: Poll: What Game Will Win at The Game Awards 2021?

Ward_ting

Finished Metroid today and honestly it was a solid 8. Very enjoyable but I really don’t understand the 10/10 hype personally. It didn’t do anything new or exciting. Has nothing on Hollow Knight. If Returnal was there that would probably get my vote, but in absence of that I’ve gone for Ratchet, though I did really enjoy Deathloop too.

Re: The Game Awards 2021 Nominees Will Be Announced Next Week

Ward_ting

I agree that there isn’t one clear winner this year. Lots of great games so quite tough to pick!

Returnal and Ratchet were fantastic fun and probably my favourite games this year. It Takes Two definitely does deserve an honourable mention and I’ve had an absolute blast with Deathloop too.

Am really enjoying Metroid Dread but it’s not the sort of game that gives me the exciting goosebumps that some of the others I’ve played this year gave me.

Forza had a lot of praise and a great meta critic score but I’d be surprised if a driving game made game of the year.

Re: Psychonauts 2 Treated to a PS5 Patch

Glad I’ve held off on getting this in that case! Looking forward to when I get round to it.

I’m a sucker for preordering games and finishing them before the enhancements / quality of life patches are released and I never learn. This time it paid off.

Got Horizon preordered but I’m already wondering what I’ll miss out on by not waiting it out a bit!

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Is Ubisoft's Second Most Profitable Game Ever

Ward_ting

I actually really enjoyed Valhalla. Platinumed it and actually preferred it in many ways to Odyssey.

I think a lot of it’s success comes down to it being the first AC on a next gen console so a lot of people sat on the fence about AC games may have dipped in as it was one game close to console launch that offered a next gen experience. In fact, that’s exactly the reason I gave it a go and I hadn’t played an AC game since AC3. Recently played Odyssey after this.

Re: Returnal Update 2.0 Finally Lets You Suspend Your Run

Ward_ting

@OneManDroid yes you could turn off the game and return if you wanted using rest mode but if you were a household sharing a console or a person who plays different games at once this was not a feasible solution. Plenty of roguelikes already exist with a save and quit function exactly like what Returnal just implemented, allowing you to drop in and out as you see fit, whilst maintaining the challenge of having to complete the game in a single run.

Re: Returnal Update 2.0 Finally Lets You Suspend Your Run

Ward_ting

Should have been there from the beginning but ultimately a smart move to finally go through with it. This will get a lot of fence sitters biting now and new sales is always going to be nice for them.

Already platinumed it so I’m unlikely to play again unless they bring in some DLC. I enjoyed it thoroughly, even without this option but for those people with loads of games on the go or whom share consoles this is good.

Re: Battlefield 2042 Beta Survey Wants Feedback on Divisive Specialists System and Other Common Complaints

Ward_ting

I played a couple of maps and really didn’t enjoy it. I was experiencing a lot of buggy graphics and as mentioned in the article I did struggle to distinguish enemy from foe. I understand this was a beta but I was expecting much more from a new game, particularly in the graphics department and for me the graphics were no better than some of the older BF games. Definitely won’t be getting this game, at least not for a year or so.

Re: Biomutant on PS4 Part of Sony's Free Game Trial Service This Month

Ward_ting

I think this is a great idea. The problem I have with demos is that they generally drop you in the middle of a game and I always find that a bit overwhelming. This will allow me to experience the game from the beginning and then the option to continue by paying is cool.

Does anyone know if you can continue playing if you opt to buy the physical version over digital?
