If this gets us the remake we all want then so be it… I am yet to play Bloodborne in the hope for a patch / remake and refuse to play it until that happens.
Elden Ring well and truly has its talons in me. I haven’t been this hooked on a game since lockdown. It’s incredibly addictive and I just cannot get enough.
I honestly didn’t think it would ever succeed. I just don’t think there are enough people out there with the broadband speeds to support streaming video games. I think if anyone could succeed in this area it will be Microsoft, but they will be leveraging their existing GamePass subscribers so it’s a much less risky business model for them.
Refunding customers is a generous move, but man, what an absolute cash sink it’s going to have proved to be.
Still not gotten round to Origins so may give it a blast. However, have just purchased Return to Monkey Island and also just bought a second hand copy of Elden Ring so figure I am going to be preoccupied for some time…
Seems to have been removed from PS+ Extra here in the UK. Shame. I’d added it to my “To Play” list a while back, hoping for something like this to happen…
My gripe with demos is when they drop you half way into the game. I’m assuming if progress carries over this demo starts at the beginning which is a big plus. May give it a go.
I enjoyed what I played of it on PC GamePass but didn’t get round to finishing it before my subscription expired. It would be a great PS+ get, not sure I would buy it after what I’ve played. The enhancements sound great though.
I went in with LOW expectations and was pleasantly surprised, so voted "Good". There wasn't an awful lot that appeals to me specifically but I could see the appeal for others.
Not going out of my way to watch this but I expect to see a new extended trailer / look at Avatar. Some new entries in the AC series. And lots of trash.
Ah so there are two of these games. I thought Steelrising and Life of P were the same thing. Didn’t particularly enjoy Greedfall but hopefully they’ve mad some vast improvements. Will wait for reviews on this, I think.
@Jammsbro It was quite obvious from the article headline that this was PC / Gamepass related so why don't you just not open it? That way people who are interested can read about it, and those not interested can just move on?
Metro is awesome. Absolutely loved my time with it. One thing this article highlights however, is the absolute lack of good FPS games. I just feel the genre is not what it used to be. Bring back the good old days of Half Life, F.E.A.R. Etc.
@Milktastrophe ah yes, that is true. I do have it in my library from PS+ Extra already it seems! Still, it’ll be nice to “own” should they take it off the service
First impressions of the folders is that I won't likely be using them much. It's good that you can organise your purchased / played content into categories, so that I could essentially separate played games against games not yet played, but there is no "Select All" function at this point which makes going through the library one by one a bit cumbersome.
I'd rather be able to select my entire library in one go and then pull out the games I haven't played, as there are more played than not.
@Dloki You have to redeem the code like you would any other code. Like if you were redeeming PS funds for your wallet, for example . You can do it via the app by going to the store and bringing the menu options down and selecting redeem code.
I'm on the beta and will install it once I've backed up some of my saves. I actually don't mind not having folders and whatnot but it is amazing it wasnt there in the beginning. Sounds like a good update for lots of people. 1440p is especially welcome news.
@Flurpsel exactly this. My girlfriend walked in on me playing it a number of times and we both just looked at each other and exchanged knowing looks about how ridiculous it was 😂 If I had a kid I think I’d definitely have to play it during their bed time, or at least not play as 2b!
@wiiware Come on now, that is hardly comparable and a bit of a reach. The issue here is these are characters created by men to be sexy, and it serves no purpose to the story whatsoever. The only purpose is to make predominantly male members of the gaming community salivate and it's all a bit lame and childish.
Comparing being forced to look up the skirt of a computer generated robot every time she goes up a ladder is nothing like seeing a real-life woman on a beach in swimwear and you know it.
I do love a good hidden secret in video games, however, the issue I had with this game, and anime style games in general, is the over-sexualisation of its characters. I found the gratuitous upskirts of 2b climbing ladders incredibly uncomfortable and incredibly unnecessary. They'd even gone to the trouble of making her wear a thong so you really could see it all, AND awarded you a TROPHY called "What are you doing!" for taking a peek. She is a robot. Why does she need a thong and why do you need to see her bare bottom?!
I absolutely loved anime as a kid and was kind of oblivious to how bad this stuff was/is, but at 36 years old this really turns me away from many games and shows. I am obviously a prude in my older age.
Anyway, I have somewhat diverged from the topic at hand. More secret rooms, less bare bums. Say it with me now: More secret rooms, less bare bums More secret rooms, less bare bums...
@Rob3008 Yea absolutely agree there. I do think the reviews were very generous indeed. A lot of people compare Psychonauts to Ratchet and Clank, but for me they are worlds apart, or should that be rifts apart...?
Ratchets' weapon upgrade process, plus the sheer number of weapons you have access to, makes combat so incredibly fun and engaging and I didn't find it monotonous or tiresome at all.
It's a really charming and fun game for the most part, with a really lovely art style. I personally found the gameplay a bit boring and tedious after a certain point and can't quite put my finger on why. Probably no fault of the game and I was just not feeling it at the time. I did play the PS version and although it was absolutely fine, I think it would have really benefitted from a PS5 upgrade.
I would consider preordering but given that Horizon Forbidden West got so many great post-release performance enhancements in the form of: 40hz mode, VRR support andgeneral improvements to performance mode, I think I may hold off and see what is delivered out the box before making my purchase.
Guardians of the Galaxy was the game that secured my subscription and boy, did it not disappoint! A GOTY contender for me for sure. Finally playing Lost Legacy and that is also fantastic. With Stray coming this month I must say this service has really surprised me. I’ve got tons of games I’m really looking forward to.
Big fan of the new art direction. Curious about the interface and how you interact with your surroundings. These games are charming, and as funny as hell. Have just replayed all of them and cannot wait to get my hands on this.
I do own a switch so maybe I’ll play it on that, although, if there is the option of playing it in 4k when it eventually comes to PlayStation I will have to hold out.
@nomither6 I actually agree with you on the ergonomics. I’ve got quite small hands and the ds4 is more comfortable for me. I actually also prefer the smooth texture too. The rough texture of the PS5 controller can be a bit much sometime. As for battery life and gimmicks, the battery for me has always been pretty good. I love the haptics but I’m not so fond of the adaptive triggers.
@JudgeDredd controller tear downs have shown that the stick components are identical to the DS4. Theres not really a console controller that is immune to drift at this point.
