Fallen Order wasn't really on my radar until it came to PS+ and it really surprised me. I really had a fantastic time with it. I am so hyped for the sequel now whereas before I couldn't have cared less. A smart move dropping previous games on to these subscription services before sequels arrive.

My brain read that as Horizon: Zero Dawn because I thought there is no way in hell they'd be dropping Forbidden West at this point... If that is true that is pretty insane and hopefully a good sign of things to come. They might be wanting to get a bigger user base in time for the DLC in April.

I have all the games listed but Horizon alone makes it an insanely good month.

I replayed it and all the dlc prior to this patch and had a great time, and experienced no more bugs than in the original game. It has always been a bit buggy and this is still a marked improvement. Still, taking a downgrade on the latest patch is a bit odd!

My 60 year old dad bought a PS5 just to play COD with his metal detecting friends…

Really enjoying the first game in this months PS+ so am looking forward to seeing more of this. It’s definitely a game I wouldn’t get on release though.

Oh man, such sad news. I was watching The Last of Us: One Night Live on YouTube tonight and the news dropped shortly after they performed “that” iconic scene on stage. She was Tess through and through. What an incredible talent.

Hopefully we get an event in early Feb! So much stuff under wraps that we are yet to hear about and info on first party games has been pretty quiet since GoW: Ragnarok.

I always tell myself I’ll play in quality mode but even when I have the option of 40fps I ALWAYS opt for 60fps in the end!

It would have been The Witcher 3 having just platinumed Ragnarok but I am away visiting my family for Christmas, so probably nothing until the 28th!

Sad times.

Tunic was simply beautiful on so many levels, and so unique. I loved the art direction of Stray and the mystery of the world and although I finished it I did find the gameplay a little repetitive and slightly boring by the end.

Ah yes, another JRPG featuring female characters with ridiculous, and unnecessarily massive breasts for the thirsty fans.

@PALversusNTSC Mass Effect and Biomutant are the PS+ essential monthly games. This list is just games for PS+ Extra and Premium.

GoW Ragnarok all the way! So many games I want to play right now so feeling quite overwhelmed, and I really should be doing more productive things with my life but f**k it!

Pillars of Eternity 1 was actually in my top 5 most played games in my PlayStation 2022 Wrap up. Will definitely be checking 2 out.

Saying that, I have GoW and then Witcher 3 to get through so who knows when I’ll get to play all these amazing new additions!

Tough call between Elden ring and GoW but Elden Ring just took it. I’m still quite early in to GoW so that could change.

Been so excited for this. I am currently deep into GoW:Ragnarok but I can't wait to get back on this when I'm done.

Caught up this morning, fast forwarding through it and I was pleasantly surprised. It was definitely one of the better shows.

This game was so bland, repetitive and unnecessarily long. Deacon was an absolutely hatable and annoying protagonist and not because I am “woke” but because the writing and dialogue was absolutely cringe:

Would love a 40fps RT mode! I have watched the video but you never get a real sense of the improvements until you experience it for yourself. There were times in the video where I really did struggle to see the differences to the original but I am going to wait until I see it for myself. The game is a masterpiece and any improvement is going to be far superior to the Switch version I played!

I was very excited but after the reviews I will probably get it pretty far down the line. Got a lot of backlog to work through at the moment which I’ll only interrupt for actual bangers!

Really solid month! Mass Effect has been on my wishlist for a while. Despite the fairly poor reception for Biomutant I am pretty happy with that as an offer.

Hype levels are at maximum! Let’s go.

Absolutely loving Elden Ring, its possibly my GOTY but the hype around GoW has me so excited. Desperately want to get it on release but I want to finish Elden Ring first!

Really pleased that these are features available at launch. Pre-ordered Horizon Forbidden West and the updates didn't come out until a fair bit after release.

Excited to play this but definitely holding off until it has been out for a bit longer for any bugs to be ironed out.

@Elodin yea I often do that too, I’ve only just picked up Elden Ring but that is taking all my time now so still not getting round to the Extra catalogue 😂

Ow my bank account. Starting to regret renewing my PS+ extra subscription. Never going to get around to playing any of the catalogue with all these new games to plough through.

I could not wait for a PS version so bought it the day it came out for Nintendo Switch. Was a brilliant nostalgia trip. My favourite franchise ever. I don’t think there is a series I’ve played as much as Monkey Island.

@4kgk2 even if they have a new ip in the works I’m still ready for them to work on a ip that isn’t Uncharted. As others have mentioned Jak & Daxter would be great. However, with the recent movie and the PC ports etc I expect Uncharted to not be going anywhere anytime soon. It’s a great franchise, don’t get me wrong, I am just ready for something different.

I love uncharted but I am so ready for a new ip at this point!

I am honestly starting to feel so overwhelmed by how many games are coming out in the very near future that I want to play! Where to start….

I played the Witcher 3 during lockdown on the Nintendo Switch, of all consoles (it ran remarkably well), however I cannot wait to revisit this on the current gen hardware!

Will give Nioh 2 a go if it has the PS5 version. Still working my way through Elden Ring though so god knows when I’m going to get to it…

@Gamer_Guy someone on their twitter announcement for this remake asked about The Witcher 3 and they responded with "soon " so I suspect they are still on track for this year!

I would be so down for a remake of the first. By the time I got round to it it was super aged so I didn't go through with it. I love the world, lore and the attention to detail they put into the games.

@Jimmer-jammer i think HDMI 2.1 is required for it to be 4K 40fps whereas I think Horizon and Ratchet gave you lower resolution options for the 40fps mode. That is a shame if GoW doesn’t have that mode and Ratchet and Horizon did.

@Milktastrophe I generally think most people have a problem with not having the choice of 60fps. There are many people without 120hz displays to appreciate the 40fps options. I think it’s just a vocal minority who chat rubbish about “lazy devs” and so on.

40fps feels so much nicer than 30fps so I for one am very excited about that.

@Jimmer-jammer it has that mode. That’s exactly what “ Favour Resolution (High Frame Rate): 4K resolution at a locked 40fps (TV with HDMI 2.1 support needed ” is referring to.

Like many others I am thrilled to be able to give 40fps a try. I may end up going to 60 or 120, we will see how much of a graphical hit they take in comparison!

Haha what an absolutely mental week this has turned out to be. I am honestly starting to wonder if the rumours of there being a cancelled PlayStation showcase were true and now we are going to get trickles of gaming news over the coming weeks, as an alternative.

There HAS to be something in this or else it is just cruel.

I haven’t been excited for a Final Fantasy in such a long time. This looks awesome and the voice acting sounds pretty good, which is something I always find hit and miss with these games. Definitely will be playing this at some point.

The flip in public perception for this game is just nuts. They really turned it around. I thought the game was fun to a large extent but it had nothing on The Witcher. Also wasn’t a huge fan of the FPS nature of the game and the overwhelming and infinite loot drops, but on the whole it’s a solid game.

Disappointing, however I am fortunate enough to own a 120hz display so 40 is often what I choose to play when the option is available. Still, there should be a choice at this point, especially when games are being developed for PC, where the graphics options are so customisable.

Having recently finished Pillars of Eternity on ps+ this has piqued my interest. I enjoyed Pillars, although I never truly got to grips with the combat mechanics. I would just randomly cast any and every spell / ability in the hope that it would do something worthwhile…still, a great narrative and brilliant world, so maybe I’ll give this a shot.

I don’t think it would be negative at all.

I have played through HZD three times now, most recently when the 60fps patch released and it honestly felt like a new game. I’m not sure I’d play it again anytime soon, possibly never again, but if a free upgrade came out I could totally see myself playing it again in a year or two. I would definitely not pay for that privilege though and still think at this stage it isn’t really necessary.
