Re: Hogwarts Legacy Stupefied Until 2022 on PS5, PS4

Perryg92

Tis unfortunate, but totally understandable in these times.
I am equal parts excited and weary of this game.

Didn't Portkey Games make that awful mobile game which tried to charge a few quid a few mins in as your character is attacked by Devil's Snare?

Re: Planet Coaster's Spooky and Adventure Expansion Packs Out Now on PS5, PS4

Perryg92

Would be interested if I could actually get to grips with the controls!
It's not clicking at all for me (i've grown up with theme park games on PC and Console since the 90s) and I have reverted back to playing RCT3 on Switch as the controls on the left and right sticks with their radial menus are so much easier.
Path layout is super weird on Planet Coaster to me.
Game looks great otherwise on PS5. But not had the chance to push the size limits.

Re: Video: PlayStation Fan Takes a Nostalgic Look Back at the PS1 with Awesome Home Video Footage

Perryg92

Wow the 90s nostalgia there! Awesome flashback to that time.
Still remember getting my PS1 for Christmas. My parents pretended that Santa only got me the cables and games and that I would have to wait an entire year for the console itself. And as my 7 year old self held back tears, my sister pushed the console behind me and said "look!"... I turned and accidentally tripped right onto it and broke the disc drive xD

Boxing Day was spent at GAME with my dad asking if they could provide a replacement xD... Good times!

Re: Interview: Switching Off Our Targeting Computers with Star Wars: Squadrons Composer Gordy Haab

Perryg92

Any way to ask EA Motive if they intend to fix the eye tracking lag & ghosting on PS5 PSVR?
So distracting and even outlets like Eurogamer brought it up in their PSVR stream.

To the article itself, great insight into compositions within games. Interesting how he mentions the new composers for the films/TV series. Must feel hard to follow on from John Williams, but equally an honour to expand on his original scores.

Re: PSVR's Blood & Truth Receives Mouth-Watering Improvements on PS5

Perryg92

@Vacuumator I'd love a consolidated list too!

I have jumped in and out of a few VR games just to see the difference.
Some, such as Paranormal Activity, has absolutely no difference at all compared to playing on base PS4 which surprised me.
But yeah, as I skipped the Pro, aside from Blood and Truth, I cannot tell if what I am seeing for these now cleaner games are just essentially those Pro versions rather than further boosted for PS5.
Agree it's a shame that Skyrim will unlikely get a further patch.

Re: PSVR's Blood & Truth Receives Mouth-Watering Improvements on PS5

Perryg92

Was literally the first thing I tried out when my PS5 arrived on Thursday.
Coming from a base PS4, this was a HUGE jump in quality for me! I could finally read signs in the distance and even see the skin pores on the hands! Certainly more immersed.

@thefourfoldroot I played Skyrim last night and it's sharper (albeit I am comparing to the base PS4 rather than Pro).

There's a YouTube channel called "PSVR without Parole" which has a few videos looking into a bunch of games and explains differences if any between PS4 Pro and PS5. including Skyrim, Squadrons, Resi 7, Iron Man etc

Re: Second PS5 Firmware Update Is Available to Download Now

Perryg92

Only had one issue whereby a cutscene right at the start of Miles Morales froze and then my PS5 hard shut down and then when I turned it on the database was rebuilding. (wasn't the best first impression!)
Other than that, no issues since and have had the console in rest mode half a dozen times.

Still super nervous to attach my external drive to the system though!

I have ended up downloading my PS4 games from scratch from disc onto the SSD and my PS4 saves via PS Plus Cloud. But I must be at capacity with the cloud storage, as I went to play Horizon and the save file was 2-3hrs behind where I knew I was!

Re: PSVR Mega Pack Launching for Xmas in Europe, Includes PS5 Adaptor

Perryg92

@SoulChimera @thefourfoldroot Sadly it's a no go with 3D blurays at the moment on PS5, with or without VR.
Tried a few of my movies and it recognises the disc and that it's the 3D version, boots up to the menu, but then says that the player (PS5 console) needs a firmware update for 3D films to work.
I tried both with and without the VR headset on.

Re: PSVR Mega Pack Launching for Xmas in Europe, Includes PS5 Adaptor

Perryg92

So glad I got move controllers during the PSVR launch!! I swear I bought a twin pack for £40, yet now it's usually more than double!
A friend of mine today tried to nab a set from Argos as they were £70 but was unsuccessful.

As for VR in general, the jump for me from base PS4 to PS5 is immense! Tried out Blood and Truth and it's so clean now. Before it was so blurry

Re: PS5-Scalping Made in Chelsea Star Is Just One More Reason to Hate That Reality Show

Perryg92

I don't have Instagram, so maybe that's what their tag is, but I don't think Sony themselves gave him a console. he @s "Playingstation5"...??
You'd hope he'd maybe give that £1200 to a charitable cause. But knowing those Made in Chelsea people, it's extremely doubtful.

I despise these MiC "Celebs". One got married in my little castle town in Italy and brought along the paparazzi. The locals were not happy, especially as all these random tourists swarmed afterwards just because they were there. As a result my sister, who always wanted to get married there herself, didn't because of all these MiC obsessed fans kept showing up at the church.

Re: PS5's First Firmware Update Is Available to Download Now

Perryg92

@thefourfoldroot & @JapaneseSonic I'll just be patient for a confirmed fix.
I've already got Miles Morales, Spidey Remastered, Planet Coaster, Bugsnax and Astro's Playroom to look forward to
I was also contemplating simply reinstalling a handful of my PS4 games onto the SSD directly from disc, if enough space, to circumvent the external drive issue.

Re: Out Today: PS5, Sony's Biggest and Most Powerful Console

Perryg92

I'm extremely hyped for this, but equally worried now as I've been seeing reports of people's consoles dying after an hour of use!
I'm sure it's like 0.01% that are defective, but knowingly my luck (especially this year) mine will be one of those!
Hoping there's a firmware patch maybe before the launch in the UK and Rest of World that might alleviate this.

Re: Sony Hosts Spectacular Light Show at Headquarters to Celebrate PS5 Launch

Perryg92

Just sitting here with my PS5 copies of Planet Coaster and Miles Morales Ultimate Edition from The Game Collection whilst waiting that extra week for the console.

Fortunately Smyths, who I ordered from, have been really great. They sent an email with 4 step process of their delivery. It was crazy specific and have assured me the courier will confirm on Wednesday the time of arrival for next Thursday morning.
Fingers crossed is true!

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered PS5 Gameplay Serves Some Crow

Perryg92

@get2sammyb Did you see Insomniac's reply to someone's tweet when they asked if a 1080p/60FPS mode with Ray Tracing could be possible?
They only responded with a curious face emoji, but holding out in hope!

I use a 1080p projector and definitely can't afford a 4K one right now as I've paid for the PS5 and an entirely new surround sound setup to hopefully boost the 3D audio.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered PS5 Gameplay Serves Some Crow

Perryg92

GameRiot also has footage on YouTube of the first 25mins of the game in fidelity mode.
Wasn't expecting such a big difference! Very impressed and glad I bought the ultimate edition. Will definitely jump into this on New Game + when the ps4 saves patch happens.
Warming to the new character model now after seeing the intro. Even Yuri looks a bit different due to the lighting.
Wonder if MJ has any changes, if any.

Re: Hands On: Planet Coaster Is a Fun PS4 Ride with Bumps Along the Way

Perryg92

Shame to read that the pad play is disjointed.
I am wondering if it's similar to Frontier's recent port of RCT3 on Switch. Took me a little while to get used to the dial setup rather than mouse and keyboard, but eventually clicked.

My concern is the build limit that's recently popped up out of nowhere.
I have a PS5 physical version sitting on my desk at the moment, so hoping that it's not too restrictive when I eventually play next week.

Re: Hands On: PS5 Backwards Compatibility - The Good, the Not Bad, and the Ugly

Perryg92

@get2sammyb Hi Sammy, will you eventually be able to check the PSVR titles in backwards compatibility? (presuming you need the adapter still maybe?)
I was on the PSN Store only yesterday and all of the VR games I looked through such as The Room and Pixel Ripped 1995 had the warnings similar to AC: Syndicate in the descriptions.

Would be such a shame if they have glitches too

Re: Control's Controversial PS5 Upgrade Slips to Early 2021

Perryg92

@LiamCroft Thanks! Sorry! I look a total muppet there!
I skimmed and misread it whilst working.
My mindset immediately thought both PS5 and BC was pushed back.
Cool! I'll wait till early 2021 and might pick it up, unless Ratchet & Clank releases nearby of which my focus will be entirely on that.
