Sony’s releasing a massive PlayStation VR Mega Pack for Europe, Australia, and New Zealand this Christmas – and it’ll work on the PlayStation 5 out of the box. The gigantic bundle includes five games, spanning Blood & Truth (which is improved on Sony’s next-gen console), Everybody’s Golf VR, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Moss, and PSVR Worlds. As mentioned, you’ll also get that all-important PS5 adaptor, so you don’t need to worry about that.
Weirdly, while this package does include a PS Camera, you’ll need to source some PS Move controllers separately, as they’re not included. It’s due out this month, although exact release dates and prices will vary depending on your country. Is anyone else planning to join the PSVR party this holiday? Make sure you play Astro Bot Rescue Mission, everyone!
I have to say, stepping up from a base PS4 to PS5 has really revived PSVR for me. That little extra polish goes a long way in providing comfort and immersion!
Astro Bot Rescue Mission. Worth the price of admission alone. If you thought Astro’s Playroom was fun, prepare to have your mind blown as in VR it is 528x better.
@Hoodie718
One question, as I don’t have the adapter yet. Can you still watch 3D movies through the headset in VR? I’ve heard the PS5 can’t play 3D Blu Rays, which would be a shame.
Sony for the love of God just include the move controllers, especially if you have at least 2 games that basically require them.
Astro Bot is amazing though and I'd love to see a straight PS4/PS5 conversion of that game as well
@thefourfoldroot I wish I could tell you, but I don’t have any movies to try!
Kinda interesting how the PSVR headset looks a lot like the PS5 aesthetically. The white on black.
@thefourfoldroot bite me... 😂 SONY biggest pioneer and pusher of 3D technology, won't give it into newest console??? They must be joking, but no one laughs...
@carlos82 and the best part is, there is always problem to get some Move Sticks in shop.
Does Astro Bot/Moss etc not get any resolution bump or anything like Blood & Truth does? Seems strange they wouldn't try and increase them all?
Still waiting to receive my PS5 adaptor ☹️
@nookie_egg It does, but just the PS4<PS4 Pro one. Which isn't bad at all..
@thefourfoldroot I've got a bunch of 3D blurays, so will give it a try tomorrow in my lunch break (working from home) and let you know if it still works in VR.
Didn't even cross my mind the PS5 might not run 3D blurays! Thank God they usually come with a standard disc too.
What is the point when there is no move controllers included which is required for games like blood and truth 🙄🙄🙄
So glad I got move controllers during the PSVR launch!! I swear I bought a twin pack for £40, yet now it's usually more than double!
A friend of mine today tried to nab a set from Argos as they were £70 but was unsuccessful.
As for VR in general, the jump for me from base PS4 to PS5 is immense! Tried out Blood and Truth and it's so clean now. Before it was so blurry
just picked up a aim controller on the cheap, still need to order my own adapter
@Octane totally agree , they look like they are from the same set don’t they
@Perryg92
Thanks. I appreciate that.
@Perryg92 Yeah, let us know. I hadn’t thought about that either. It took them quite a while to make them work with the PSVR on the PS4. Hopefully they will sort it out if it isn’t currently supported.
Now if only I could get my adaptor, I could pack the PS4 away.
I'm still getting some odd screen or audio dropouts with ps5 running through the psvr v2 box. Didn't have that problem with 4pro... Not sure if it's the longish cable or not that's the issue. Xsx seems fine. Ps5 without psvr seems fine-er.
@SoulChimera @thefourfoldroot Sadly it's a no go with 3D blurays at the moment on PS5, with or without VR.
Tried a few of my movies and it recognises the disc and that it's the 3D version, boots up to the menu, but then says that the player (PS5 console) needs a firmware update for 3D films to work.
I tried both with and without the VR headset on.
@Perryg92
Thanks for letting me know. That’s a shame.
@thefourfoldroot @Perryg92
That’s a bit crap. Hopefully they fix it. It did take them quite a while to sort it after the PSVR came out.
