Re: PS Plus Premium Members Can Test Drive Another Brand New PS5 Game

Perryg92

Was initially very tempted to get this game as I struggled with the UI with Planet Coaster on PS5 (RCT3 on Switch has a better UI!), which was a huge shame as I've grown up on Theme Park World, RCT1-3
.
The added preorder bonus at The Game Collection with 2for1 tickets to Thorpe Park was somewhat enticing. But I still held off.

Was thinking of trying out this demo when I spotted it on Saturday, but seen some vids stating that the base game only has 25 rides and the rest seem to be locked behind a season pass.
Plus there's issues such a performance taking quite a hit when the park gets busy and guests just always unhappy and asking for more rides, even if you have them all.

Might just try and overcome the hurdle of Planet Coaster's UI.

Re: Break the Fourth Wall in 16-Bit Celebration Pixel Ripped 1995 for PSVR2

Perryg92

Sweet! Me too @get2sammyb I didn't play it on PSVR1.
Was wondering if 1995 and 1989 would also come to PSVR2 eventually with enhancements. Looking forward to it!

PSVR2 is having a pretty nice week, with trailers for the likes of Wanderer, Hubris etc.
I'm sure was possibly due to legalities, devs not ready to show a trailer etc, but it does baffle me why these weren't shown at the PS Showcase.

Re: Feature: PSVR2 Three Months Later - The Good, The Bad, and The Worrying

Perryg92

Have had PSVR2 since launch and so far it's been pretty good from my perspective.

Granted some are simply upgrades from PSVR1, but got a nice selection of titles currently (Horizon, Moss 1&2, Kayak, Another Fisherman's Tale, Walkabout Mini Golf, Beat Saber, Pistol Whip, Synth Riders, Red Matter 2, GT7 & Garden of the Sea).

I'm quite nitpicky, but overall definitely feels a big step up visually and tracking wise compared to PSVR1.
Have had friends try it out too and they're very impressed by the clarity n whatnot. But the asking price is a total turn off for them.

My only concern is that I feel PSVR2 might go the way of the Vita with Sony first party themselves not making any titles for it, but just relying on 3rd party/indies.
They own Insomniac now and yet none of their VR titles have made its way to PSVR2 for example, which is a shame.
The lack of 1st party titles at the PS Showcase was very disconcerting. And no word if any studios that worked on PSVR1 games (London Soho Studios, Team Asobi etc) are doing anything related to PSVR2 either.

My other concern is just the other day the seam/groove of the plastic of the ring going around the right sense controller popped out. No clue if it will negatively affect tracking (so far not seen any changes) and too nervous to try and pop it back in, as it feels so fragile!

But I still really like my PSVR2! Was cool to see the likes of Bulletstorm announced.
If they are making PS3 era games possible in VR.... gimme Puppeteer! xD... or the HD Sly Collection from a 1st person perspective!

Re: Alan Wake 2 Thinks It'll Beat Spider-Man to PS5's Best Graphics of 2023 Crown

Perryg92

Literally just had a work colleague send me this tweet about Spidey 2's "poor water rendering".
https://twitter.com/Dream_WaIker/status/1661876053386616832?s=19

He's totally jumped on the bandwagon, feeling that the game should be delayed as a result! Total eye roll from me... Mental.
First "Puddlegate" in 2018 and now what..... "Rivergate"?!

In total agreement with @EquiinoxGII about gameplay over graphics and Zelda ToTK is proof of that (got 50hrs clocked in so far).
If Spidey 2 has amazing gameplay, with those super fast traversal speeds, instant switching between Miles and Peter etc and a fantastic story to go alongside it... all for it.
I can survive the way the water looks.

As for Alan Wake 2... Does look real nice, but I am presuming it's far more contained? And you're walking at human speeds, not flying halfway through Manhattan in seconds.

Re: PlayStation Showcase Finally Announced for 24th May

Perryg92

My expectations:

  • Spider-Man 2 gameplay trailer and release date
  • The Last of Us: Factions gameplay trailer + release window
  • Announcement that Ghosts of Tsushima 2 is officially in the works... release TBC
  • Another cinematic trailer for Wolverine... nothing more.

My hopes:

  • Spyro 4 flies in!!! Releasing this Autumn!
  • Uncharted game - slightly smaller title, akin to Lost Legacy, either with mainline cast or a side tale like "Cutter's Adventures"!
  • Astrobot: Rescue Mission 2 & Blood and Truth sequels revealed for PSVR2, coming soon - The originals shadowdrop, both with an upgrade path for existing owners, but for a tenner each as it has reworked controls, 120hz and 4K assets.
  • New Tomb Raider by Crystal Dynamics cinematic trailer reveal

Dreaming way too hard!:

  • 1st person Spider-Man PSVR2 spin off game (those sense controllers are perfect webshooters! + Insomniac have dabbled in VR development before)
  • A Sly Cooper or Jak & Daxter sequel
  • The Getaway PS5 full on remake

Re: Park Beyond Looks Like the PS5 Spiritual Successor to Theme Park You've Been Longing For

Perryg92

Hoping this will end up a solid theme park sim.
I grew up on RCT1-3 and Theme Park World on PS2 too and loved those games.

I did get Planet Coaster at PS5 launch, but the controls and menus really didn't click at all and I gave up.
The radial menus in RCT3 on Switch were far easier to use, so opted to play that game more!... Ironic as they're both Frontier titles. (although I think QLOC did most of the development for RCT3 Switch)

Re: Standalone Harry Potter Quidditch Game Announced

Perryg92

I have known about this since 2018!
(Guess only in concept at the time).

I asked someone at WB Games back in Feb 2018 if they'll ever develop a solo Quidditch game similar to "Quidditch World Cup" but with the modern day online components akin to something like Rocket League and they simply said "It's in the works"... And here we are!

Guess I can call myself an industry insider
Move over Jeff Grubb! xD

Gutted though Quidditch isn't in Hogwarts Legacy instead. When HL was revealed, honestly thought that was what said person was referring to, but clearly now, not the case.
Tis unfortunate as I really enjoyed HL and it's such a tease having a pitch and general broom flight.

Re: Endure and Survive HBO's The Last of Us on 4K UHD Blu-ray, with Over 3 Hours of Special Features

Perryg92

Cool! I'm quite the physical media advocate so got a copy myself of the 4K bluray (with HMV though rather than Amazon).

Btw has anyone else received an email from NOWTV they've been put in a PS5 prize draw for watching the whole series? xD
I have, and immediately assumed it was a phish, but then GamingBible reported it as legit, so a tad confused and still a bit sus as It's not been reported elsewhere.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy Soars with 12 Million Copies Sold in First Two Weeks

Perryg92

Well done to Avalanche Software! Have made a great game.
Been really enjoying the game.

My PS5 annoyingly crashed (with another game) and had to rebuild database and I lost 6hrs of progress in HL, and weirdly my cloud save wasn't there either, but I was happy to go through those 6hrs worth all over again!
Testament as to how much I've been enjoying it.

Re: PSVR2 Sense Controllers Aren't Working for Some Early Adopters

Perryg92

I think I MAY have a slight issue with my right sense controller.

When I first booted up Kayak yesterday, even though I could move the paddle, I felt the haptic feedback wasn't as strong as the left initially, but was fine later.
Then last night I went to try the Resi 8 demo and the character's right arm didn't appear at all! So couldn't even do the VR tutorial. But the buttons all worked.

All my other games: Horizon, Synth Riders, Pistol Whip, Moss 1&2 and Job Simulator + Stars Wars Tales from Galaxy's edge demo have been perfectly fine though.
Will keep testing out over the weekend to see.

Re: Talking Point: State of Play Predictions February 2023 - What Do You Expect?

Perryg92

Said it ever since PSVR1 came out in 2016... Puppeteer needs to return in VR!
Honestly keeping my expectations low, suspecting those VR games that were announced in German PS Blog post and then swiftly removed, to be the ones on show.
But if they happen to show Astrobot and Blood & Truth upgraded ports, or full on sequels, that'd be sweet.
Throw in a truly outlandish idea of a Spider-Man PSVR2 spinoff game and we're golden!

Re: Out Today: PSVR2 Brings Next-Gen VR to the Masses

Perryg92

@ThorsHammer I seem to have figured it out for Synth Riders finally.
Went to the "Editions" on the PS App and realised the Standard Edition had "remastered" written in the key art icon. Tapped that and it says "Remastered for PSVR2". So selected that and then "download to console".

Re: Out Today: PSVR2 Brings Next-Gen VR to the Masses

Perryg92

Sony emailed me it was shipped at 1:30pm and by 3pm the delivery man dropped it off! Was genuinely shocked it actually arrived on launch day! xD
Honestly didn't believe it was the headset at first too, as the box was so light!!

Now just downloading the Horizon code.
Moss 1&2, Kayak, Pistol Whip and Job Simulator all at the ready.
Bit confused with Synth Riders though! Thought there was going to be a PSVR2 upgrade but so far it still says PS4 only.

Re: Rumour: Sony Is Plotting Wireless Earbuds for PS5

Perryg92

Reading this article whilst wearing my Sony Linkbud S's.
Definitely not farfetched for them to create a PS brand set. Sounds very similar in terms of battery life etc.

No need for headphones personally for me though, as I game with a 7.1.2 sound system
(although sadly the .2 don't get used for games as PS5 doesn't support Atmos outside of bluray movies - Thank god I am a physical movie collector)

Re: Hnngh! Hogwarts Legacy PS5, PS4 Launch Trailer Teases a Truly Magical Adventure

Perryg92

Can't wait to play this!
Got 2 serious hospital follow up appointments (which also will clarify if I can play PSVR2 at launch - priorities! xD ) the day before the 72hrs early access release... Hoping for really good news with those, so that I can play Hogwarts Legacy with peace of mind and fully immerse myself!

Was a major fan of HP 1-3 on PS1/PS2 back in the early 2000s and so excited to return and see such a detailed Hogwarts!

Re: Hogwarts Legacy Is Now Putting Out Music Videos

Perryg92

Gave the video a quick listen and there's a small segment that sounds straight out of Prisoner of Azkaban, followed by another that sounds reminiscent of Dumbledore's Army in Order of the Phoenix IMO. Love it!
C'mon Feb 7th! Need my deluxe edition in hand!! xD

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for November 2022 Announced

Perryg92

Would have been excited for KH if I didn't own all the games already xD
And same for Ratchet & Clank if they weren't streaming. I'll just stick to playing them on PS3.
Surely Sony could have at least thrown in the PSP or PS2 R&C Size Matters on top to have one proper download game for "Premium" tier

Re: PSVR2 Launches 22nd February 2023, Costs $550

Perryg92

Ouch! There was me half joking that it'd be similar to the PS3 with the "599 US Dollars!" and I am only $50 short.

I still would like to get one, but in an unfortunate predicament atm that I fractured my spine in 6 places whilst asleep and so on precautionary anti-seizure meds and explicitly told not to use my PSVR headset in case it triggers anything and same rule would apply to PSVR2 :/
Once that's hopefully ruled out though after further assessment, I'll probably be a muppet and pay the £530 for this new gen headset

Re: Random: Chloe Grace Moretz Is Eager for Sony to Make a New PSP

Perryg92

Perhaps someone should tell her to simply get PS Plus Premium. To play that extensive 5 game library Toy Story 3 on PSP FTW!
(I'm not hurt Sony! Still paid you the £100 annual renewal yesterday xD)

All jokes aside. I agree PSP should make a return! That console was so next gen back in 2005. I still have mine to this day and occasionally boot up the demo UMD with Natasha Bedingfield's "These Words" and the "Spider-Man 2" trailer for that 00s nostalgia.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for October 2022 Are Available Now on PS5, PS4

Perryg92

Still a little bit disappointed that AC: Syndicate does not have a PS5 fix to go alongside releasing on PS Plus. Kinda wanted to jump back into it if there was a patch. Oh well.
Might give AC: Odyssey a try.
Dragon Quest XI S is awesome (have it on Switch)

Totally agree with the vid that the lack of PS1, PS2, PSP games added makes you think what's the point of Premium.
Still holding out in hope that EVENTUALLY Sony will add some of their PSP games like Daxter, Pursuit Force, Resistance Retribution and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium PS5, PS4 Games for October 2022 Announced

Perryg92

Very curious to know if AC: Syndicate has the PS5 fix as it's part of the list.
Already own the game but never bothered to download it to the PS5 due to its technical issues. Would like to jump into it again. I liked the Victorian London setting.
Nice selection DQ games. Was hooked on the Builders demos on Switch, so might try these here.

But no new PS1, PSP or PS2 games yet again is making me question why I have Premium at all!

Re: How Does the $1,500 Meta Quest Pro Compare to PSVR2?

Perryg92

Is it sad to say I'll be pleasantly surprised and willing to pay if PSVR2 ends up being the same £350 launch price point as the original PSVR thinking that's "cheap".

A few months back I jokingly said it'll be Kaz Hirai's fave phrase "599 US dollars!"... I'm now thinking it might legitimately be the case for PSVR2! 😕
