Sony has released a slew of MediEvil screenshots that compare the upcoming remake with the original PlayStation classic. As you'd expect, there's a massive jump in overall quality here, but it's safe to say that developer Other Ocean Interactive has done a great job of retaining the atmosphere and art style of Sir Dan's adventure.
Just in time for Halloween, MediEvil is due to release for PlayStation 4 on the 25th October. The remake is very much the same game as the original, but obviously the visuals have been completely overhauled. The soundtrack has also been rerecorded, which is always a nice touch.

Of course it's a jump but not as long as i waited. Graphically, this could easily be a ps3 title imho.
It's a must buy though since it's one of my best series in ps1/psp.
in that PlayStation.Blog's post they said the gameplay will be like Darksouls!
can anyone tell me how?
EVERY trailers i saw till now were soo childish without any challenge and of course, without any Darksouls fighting Style!
@kohiba99 don't tell me you want TLOU's graphics style, do you?
I remember that stained glass monster creeping me out as a kid.
I remember the "Master of the Mausoleum" creeping me out when I played it at launch too @ShogunRok ... and I was 17! 😂
Looks the same to me...
nice looking great playa.word up son
Now I want all psone classic to be remade
Sweet. Never played the originals but definitely my type of game. I hope it’s good, I don’t mind if it receives critique for any retro foibles it may have (like a dodgy camera) as I still play these old games today and am used to them!
@kohiba99 a PS3 title graphically? Am I missing something here? It looks current gen considering the art direction.
@parvaz1 I don't think she means it plays like Dark Souls game exactly. More that it has echoes of it in it's design.
Despite it's looks Medievil isn't a easy game, you could lose health to most enemies very quickly if you aren't careful. Plus there was loads of cheap deaths as well though that was more to do with the camera making platforming awkward.
@slampog I mean they look like simple good graphics, not cgi/cartoon level as they could be.
The differences are night and day but the Stained Glass Demon looks more terrifying on the PS1 version than the one in the remake.
This, Ghostbusters and Luigi's Mansion 3 it’s gonna be a happy Halloween for me
Original looks better
@Stocksy Same here though I'll probably wait a year for sales before I get them.
