Re: This Is Why Xbox Is Bringing All of Its Games to PS5 Now

Haruki_NLI

They want similar profit margins to Nintendo (20-30% over the Switch generation) even though Microsoft has much higher revenue and costs.

What does this mean? Copy the Nintendo playbook: lower budgets, smaller teams, more games, sell your hardware at a profit and not a loss.

Next Xbox will be over $1000, and the games? Not sure if they can manage that one. They haven't got over a decade.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (PS5) - PS5's Best Kart Racer Is Robust, Chaotic Fun

Haruki_NLI

I played the demo on PC and apart from the laughable graphics options (mostly yes or no) I found the best way to stop the game looking....well, a mess, is to disable anti aliasing entirely. No matter which one you use, it absolutely smothers the screen, add onto that all the visual noise and even at native 1440p it looked far far worse.

Which might explain why all the trailers never grabbed me, and the gameplay snippets. I thought it was compression and streaming quality making it all pixelated and low resolution. Turns out no, it's the UE5 special.

Every UE5 game gets a UE5 special. Spin the wheel and find out what easily fixable visual problem you get today!

Shame they're such a key partner that the Switch version doesn't get early access, nor have we had a single screenshot of the mythical Switch 2 release.

In fact, they're such a good partner that despite historically having the highest per platform sales for the series, they take the laziest route to get the games working on the hardware and are by some margin the worst versions, even when it's proven they don't need to be.

Never forget Sonic Generations being manually coded to run at 31.5fps on Switch for literally no reason.

Re: Enjoy the New Resident Evil Requiem Trailer with Improved PS5 Graphics

@Oram77 Oh yeah, you put out max settings on PC, or even on a mid-high tier PC like my 4070 Super, and it runs rings in many games around PS5. PS5 Pro....not as much. Plus it gets pretty much all the same games.

But we can see SW2 can do...a lot...for whats in there. The fact that Star Wars Outlaws is similar resolution to Series S with more raytracing and very sensible nips and tucks at the same, more stable, frame rate....is weird for something so low power.

But also the fact that this is what we are doing under this article, comparing hair and lighting when it is the exact same game running on a tablet....yeah I think these kinds of comparisons are valid, but ultimately moot: its the same game, at similar quality.

This aint the Wii and PS3 anymore.

Re: Capcom Shuts Down Fan Theories That Pragmata Is a Secret Mega Man Game

Haruki_NLI

I very much doubt it's a Mega Man game. It took them years, several times over, to make a new one, both in 2008 and 2018, when a small team in Capcom decided to do it.

Worse still, 11 sold the most of all of them, and we've had some collections, and then the guy who was shepherding the series to these new highs....just upped and left Capcom.

So there goes all of that, I guess. NFTs!

Re: Site News: Where Is Our Mafia: The Old Country PS5 Review?

Haruki_NLI

"To reiterate, our policy is to only ever review PlayStation code."

This is good, but developers also host previews on other builds that your sister sites have played, and then published thoughts on for other games, so is this just a PS thing, or overall?

Also, does that include PC reviews, because saying ever implies you won't review Sony's PC releases.
