Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Adds Persona 5 Protagonist as Sales Top 1 Million Units 1

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a hit for SEGA, with sales now surpassing one million units worldwide.

According to the Japanese publisher, since release on 25th September, players have raced over 74.5 million times, participated in over 31.5 million Grands Prix, and competed in over 13 million Ranked Matches.

To attract a fresh wave of enthusiasm, the company has now added Persona 5 protagonist Joker to the starting grid.

The following content is included as part of the update:

  • Joker as a playable character
  • Joker’s vehicle, the Arsene Wing
  • Three new Joker-themed songs added to the Jukebox
    • “Take Over”
    • “Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There”
    • “Victory”
  • Special emotes and sounds

We found Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds to be a very appealing alternative to Mario Kart World when we reviewed it earlier in the year.

“The dimension-hopping races are fun, varied, and fast, and the robust customisation allows players to really tinker with how the game feels,” we said as part of our 8/10 verdict.

“With energetic action, a good range of race types, and plenty of post-launch content on the way, this is an entertaining entry for casual players and hardcore Sonic fans alike.”
