Capcom has announced the third game in its Monster Hunter Stories series. Fully titled Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, it's coming to PS5 at some point next year.
We've only got a brief reveal trailer to go on, but the official description clarifies a couple of key things. Firstly, this is another story-driven RPG — just like its predecessors — and secondly, it sounds like the combat system will still be turn-based.
It's worth mentioning that the first two Monster Hunter Stories titles started out as Nintendo-exclusive releases, but given that they were remastered years later for PS4, it's no real surprise to see Monster Hunter Stories 3 go full multiplatform from the beginning.

The best thing about that Direct - not a single damn exclusive.
Can't believe I watched that Direct 🤣🤪
That was quite possibly one of the worst things I have ever seen and I live in the UK.
@Haruki_NLI To be fair it was a Partner one so was always going to focus on multiformat games.
Sooner than i expected. I like that they are going with a more adult theme.
Fingers crossed the gameplay looks better and runs better than the last one. Hopefully no crashes too. 😅
@get2sammyb Tell a lie actually, the press release states PvZ is exclusive.
Which is bizarre because that's EA. They must be feeling ill.
@Haruki_NLI Pretty sure Hyrule Warriors is exclusive.
But yeah, the third party exclusive is pretty much dead at this point. Hell, at this point, apart from Nintendo first party releases, exclusives are dead altogether.
@Haruki_NLI Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment is coming to other than Nintendo consoles or are you not counting it as exclusive b/c it's also on Switch? I can't imagine that game being fun to play on Switch,
Does Nintendo usually show Switch exclusives in their own proper Direct or are the big 3rd party exclusives always in the Partner Directs? Not that there are a lot of big 3rd party exclusives but I feel like there were a couple last gen.
I thought the Direct got off to a goid start but ending it w/ two of those HD-2D looking games rather than something that looks next (this) gen was a stupid thing to do. MH Stories 3 could have been swapped w/ either of the last 2. Don't care which 1, looked the same to me. Hence my issue with it.
I was surprised no MS games. They're in year 3 of the 10 year CoD on Nintendo legal contract. Starting to wonder if MS is just waiting for the 10 years to be up and see if anyone remembers.😂 Was kindling hoping for South of Midnight. Not sure Switch 2 can run Indy. Or any of the other recent PS5 ports.
That Avatar game would have been nice. Still waiting on DQ12 news. And of course Silksong.
It had a good first half before we all started thinking - what was the point of this again? 2month old console deserved better.
I really gotta play 1 and 2 😩. I didn't think they would make a 3rd so soon
As a JRPG fan, this Direct was pretty good!
The only good announcement lol this was a pretty mid direct some 2D hd games that im tired so nothing special between all summer showcases this was the worst ps and xbox stole the thunder not even Nintendo could top it
@ButterySmooth30FPS more or less glad you like it but i was expecting a lil more for example rune factory guardians of azuma for ps5
@Anya-chan I think that's on the way
@ButterySmooth30FPS i hope so but there's 2 games that i would love to on ps5
