Honkai: Star Rail Concludes Its Elongated Amphoreus Saga, Adds Permanent Game Mode 1

When the stinger at the end of the most recent Honkai: Star Rail update warned its never-ending Amphoreus saga would be continued, we felt a little bit of our soul die.

That is to say this overwritten beast of a plot hasn’t been our favourite to date, but it concludes in v3.7, due out on 5th November.

At least we have a big new boss fight against the dauntingly named Irontomb to look forward to!

With the Amphoreus saga concluding, final character Cyrene will be added to the roster of playable heroes, and her banner will be available throughout the entirety of the update.

She has some cool powers, like the ability to activate all of her teammates’ Ultimates, although there is concern she may be underpowered in her basic form, and will require multiple duplicates to reach her full potential. We don’t like her enough to break the bank, unfortunately.

Fortunately, a slew of reruns including essential characters like Hyacine will flank the newcomer, so you may want to use this opportunity to spend liberally on those instead.

In addition to the story, a new permanent gameplay mode named Currency Wars will be introduced, where you’ll take teams of up to ten characters into battle and merge their abilities in Bond attacks.

All of the 61 supported characters will include Free Trials so don’t worry if you’re missing a unit to perfect your dream lineup as you’ll be able to recruit them temporarily for use in this mode.

Elsewhere, a new fashion system will enable you to dress up the Trailblazer with all sorts of unlockable cosmetics, including hats and other goofy accessories. We suppose this seems like a welcome feature that will unlock the potential for fun future rewards.

Before we sign off, you’ll probably want a recap of the latest redemption codes, which can be claimed through here:
