It may already be available in China on both PC and mobile, but Where Winds Meet’s worldwide release is a huge milestone – especially as it’ll be available as a console exclusive on the PS5, at least initially.

The game, which first released on 27th December last year in its home country, will add PlayStation to its list of platforms around the world on 14th November. At least it’s not another September launch date, eh?

This new trailer mixes beautifully motion captured cutscenes from some of its most recent trailers with high-octane gameplay footage, but if you’re still not sure what to expect from this open world wuxia, here’s the official overview:

“From bustling cities to forgotten temples hidden deep within emerald forests, the world flows with life—changing with time, weather, and your actions. Uncover thousands of points of interests, discover over 20 distinct regions, interact with diverse characters, and engage with numerous authentic activities in a world that teems with life. Explore ancient cities, reveal forbidden tombs, play flutes beneath swaying willows, or drink under lantern-lit skies.”

The game’s set during tenth-century China, which is not a backdrop you expect to explore often, but while its combat will be grounded, it’s been choreographed by local martial artists and stuntmen, so expect all kinds of ridiculous unfathomable feats of acrobatics.

A pre-order pack is available on the PS Store now for £14.99/$14.99. It includes several in-game items like currency and a few cosmetics, but as always we’d advise against getting these as they’re rarely good value for money – and as this is a free-to-play game, you may as well try it and see if you like it before coughing up any cash.
