Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 332

The main bulk of my weekend will be Trails Of Cold Steel 1 on PS4 for the first time. On my first field study and it's quite enjoyable so far! I quite like the cast of characters and I'm really quite fond of all the music so far too

There'll possibly be a bit of Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night & Injustice: God Among Us thrown in the mix as well.

I found Divinity: Original sin II to be utterly engrossing @Shepherd_Tallon

The writing was very good all over the board, the strategic combat was very different for me and a breath of fresh air (And some battles can get quite difficult (I was playing on normal/standard difficulty setting) if you try not to abuse the AI), there's a bunch of different ways on how you can complete quests...

It's a lot of fun... It is also quite long.

I spent 135 or so hours on it... And I was tempted to start again and use the three party members I never took with me to see what happens with them

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee on PS1 for me.

The game unfortunately bugged out on me a little so I have restart halfway through the Paramonia Temple. I'm enjoying it but I'll be really glad to get to Exodus and have the quicksave feature under my belt as it can get a bit frustrating at times too!

To everyone playing The Last Of Us Part 2 I hope you enjoy your time with it and I hope everyone has a great weekend! 😀

Re: Indies Benefit Big from PS5 Reveal

Hopefully so @RBMango

On the indies I'm actually interested in Little Devil Inside and Kena are the ones I'm looking out for, they look ace. There honestly wasn't much from the showcase that I wasn't at least a little bit interested in!

Re: Timed PS5 Exclusives Range from a Few Months to Years

HallowMoonshadow

Not that I agree with the practice of timed exclusivity but Shadow Of The Tomb Raider was/is a well established franchise and the previous entry of it was on PS3/PS4.

Not to mention Lara herself still being fairly asscoiated with the Playstation brand thanks to her beginnings.

All these timed exclusives announced for PS5 are nearly all new IP right? So there isn't any expectations in place compared to Tomb Raider...

... Still not great mind but Sony wants people to buy PS5's at the end of the day and it's the games that'll do it even if most of them come to the Series X 6 months later

Well the past two weeks of the WAYPTW articles I started my first ever journey of The Last Of Us.

I ended up beating it last sunday.

It was pretty good & holds up fairly well indeed with a pretty tight and well written script. I did have a few gripes but they were mostly minor.

I won't be playing TLoU 2 around launch... but hopefully it'll be sooner rather then later as I'm interested in seeing where it's going.

Seeing Oddworld: Soulstorm in the PS5 reveal event really excited me however so this weekend I'm gonna be replaying my digital copy of the PS1 title Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee on PS3 with the intent on following it up with Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus (that I never got round to beating)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: PS Vita Exclusive Persona 4 Golden Is Jumping to PC, No Word on PS4

HallowMoonshadow

That does sound rather painful I have to admit...

... It'd be even worse if it had happened to me in my first playthrough of Persona 3 (It being my first Atlus/smt game) seeing as I was a bit of a disaster with it @nessisonett due to me still using a Jack Frost with basic level bufu skills against the october full moon shadow.

I spent over an hour fighting that bloody wheel of fortune ever so slowly chipping away at it

It did also make the strega fights actually difficult though at least...

Still trekking through The Last Of Us for the first time.

I just got to the Winter chapter. Things have certainly taken a turn haven't they? Though I already know Joel's alive in Part 2 so I know he's just out of comission for a bit & not dead as the cut to the start of winter would've implied otherwise

I got DOOM 64 as well on PS4 and may give that a go as well over the weekend.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I'll be playing more Day's Gone into the final act of the game. A good if somewhat unremarkable Sony exclusive. All the sequel really needs (For me at least) is a stronger narrative to wrap itself around.

I'll also be playing the mesmerising Pac Dot munching mayhem that is Pac-Man Championship 2 every now and again

Stay safe and enjoy the weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 319

I've never played or actually heard much about the first persona @crimsontadpoles... It's usually always Persona 2 (Usually Innocent Sin) I hear fans are talking about regarding the older entries. I was tempted to get a Playstation Classic on the cheap purely to try Persona 1 (Or Revelations Persona as it was called)

Have fun with it and Megaman 8!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 319

HallowMoonshadow

The PSP remake of Persona 1 @crimsontadpoles or the PS1 version?

I can only imagine that it's quite the different experience compared to Persona 5 (Not to mention 3 & 4)... Persona 1 has first person dungeon crawling like the first two mainline SMT games doesn't it?

As for me I'll be playing the same as last week. I'm on Opus/Chapter 7 of Shining Resonance Refrain and nearing the end of the game.

My run as the Amazon in Dragon's Crown Pro is also coming to a conclusion and I'll maybe make some more progress in Iconoclasts as well.

Stay safe everyone and have fun gaming!

Shining Resonance Refrain (On PS4) is what I'll mainly be playing this weekend. I'm finding it pretty decent, if unambitious, and the more light hearted presentation and tone is just what I needed apparently.

Due to a colleague taking ill yesterday though I'll be back at work teaching on Monday.

Take care and stay safe everyone!
