We've made it known that we hope Baldur's Gate 3 comes to consoles after its initial launch on PC and Google Stadia. The RPG from Larian Studios is shaping to be something pretty special, especially off the back of Divinity: Original Sin and its phenomenal sequel, and it would certainly be a shame to have to miss out on it. So, it's certainly welcome news that the developer is open to the idea of bringing the game to consoles.
In an interview with GameSpot, creative director Swen Vincke said: "We're going to first focus very hard on getting those two to work, and then we'll see what happens." After the two Divinity: Original Sin titles both eventually made their way to PlayStation 4, we'd be surprised if Baldur's Gate 3 skips the next-gen systems. Pencil this one in for 2022 or maybe 2023 on PlayStation 5.

yes please, all the best crpgs will end up on Xbox now unfortunately
Trying not to get too hyped from that trailer... But it looks absolutely gorgeous! Looking forward to that!!!
Will definitely come to the PS5.
Looking good, I’ll probably get it on PC though since I prefer a mouse for this sort of game.
I think I'll still get it on PC, but I may still double dip on PS5 because I think that will be more powerful or at least faster than my current PC.
Don't know though. Graphics don't really matter for CRPGs.
I'll probably get this on PC in case it doesn't show up on console, then nab it again when/if it comes to PS5. I'm still fairly sure we'll see this on console.
This is one developer I'm hoping remains independent. Sony don't have a first party western style RPG or CRPG franchise in their stable that I can think of, so I'm relying on Larian, Bioware and CPR for my fix.
I'm 90% sure we'll see this on consoles. With both Divinity Original Sins, both Pillars of Eternity etc... The CRPG has found a new leash of life on console. I'm still amazed we now have Planescape: Torment on a games console!
This is simply a matter of when, not if.
The game play doesn't look like fun. I'll pass. But I hope you guys enjoy it
I hope so I love Baldur's Gate
It's only a matter of time given Larian's other games like Divinity
The only way I'd be compelled to pick it up on consoles is if it had cross save support with my PC save
Yeah, probably, i remember they say it will be too much for PS4/XB1 and later someone ask then for a PS5/XSX port and they gave a ambiguous answer...
Anyways, not my type of game, and will probably translate awfuly to gamepad controls. This is a mouse game.
Push Square. Why did you delete all my comments on the article with 500+ comments? We were having a debate about corona, now if you were to delete all comments about that I'd understand, but you left all the comments responding to me that fit your agenda. I wasn't insulting, I was being friendly, and clarifying my opinion and got insulted for it, harassed on PSN by TrueAssassin86x, who wished my family would die from Covid as well. And is still constantly spamming my inbox now.
Why keep the comments that disagreed with me but deleted all mine? Totally unfair. I did nothing wrong. Either delete all comments on that topic or none at all. So incredibly biased. I left IGN because of how they treat their community, I thought this one would be better.
What's shameful is the paid shills that glorify this dumpster fire then have the nerve to call anyone who disagrees with their opinion a bot or calls their actions "shameful".
Shameful is that the author and his SJW sycophants lack the integrity to be respectful of other's opinions or to provide an unbiased, objective opinion of the game.
Those who have "review bombed" it have been completely honest in their opinions unlike the SJWs and paid shills that write glowing reviews without having played either game.
Maybe next time you shouldn't assume motives of people you dont know.
@mini_piekarnik crpgs are so niche that it wouldn't surprise me to see them multi-platform despite M$ buying out Obsidian and inXile
Yesss please!
@Dewlso @oldschool1987 This is an article about Baldur’s Gate 3. Remain on-topic.
@Makina you'd be surprised how well they can convert. Fell in love with divinity 2 on ps4 from the moment I booted up and I didn't think it'd really be for me (was more intrigued by the coop). Absolutely blown away, and this looks to be even deeper, so I can only hope we see a ps5 release!
i haven't played Divinity yet so i am ok with this.
@LiamCroft you closed the comments on the other article, so you left me no choice.
Your refusal to answer my question as to your bias speaks volumes. I got the answer when you dodged my question. Its a shame this site is as bad as IGN now. Thanks for treating me like crap, and letting members of your site wish my daughter dead, for deleting one side of the debate that you lot personally don't agree with, no matter how amicable the discussion. You refused to allow me to explain my position when you deleted my comments, left the other person's comments up, then locked the comments section down.
There really isn't any site left for people who don't always follow the mainstream narrative, is there?
@oldschool1987 sorry, just came across this. From what I can see all the comments you were mentioned in were also deleted from that article and also some users were banned from the site as a result. Which are the comments that are still up? Have you reported them? If you could let us know either through the report tool or the contact form we’ll happy discuss further over email rather than on this article.
PS4 please...Thank you.
@antdickens thanks you for the response. Main abusive comments are gone, but me and another lad were having a mostly friendly discussion about covid (apart from when he called me a boomer, but that's not malicious, I saw it as banter tbh), all my comments were deleted but his responses were left up, so it just comes across that my side of the discussion isn't allowed, even though when I explained my views he agreed with me in the end. I don't think I said anything that warranted comments being deleted, and if you were deleting all comments off topic I'd be absolutely fine with that, that's more than fair, but his replies to me are left up, and my counter points are gone, so it comes off as a little unfair.
Once again, thanks for not being dismissive. Hope you have a nice night.
@oldschool1987 no problem, in this case the sheer volume of comments was huge and I would have recommended deleting all off-topic comments. Again, if any are still there please feel free to report them or send me links. I imagine mods were dealing with the more aggressive/unsavoury comments rather than being unfair towards you intentionally.
I loved the old Baulders Gate games, Divinity Original Sin games made the best turn based isometric way to play. Able to make an old pnp d&d character in a game made by this studio will be amazing. This will probably come to ps5 right about the time I buy one.
@antdickens I'll take your word for it that it wasn't intentional just deleting mine lol. Appreciate you taking the time to get back to me 👍
