Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin on PS4. Luna, The Wolf (Her name totally isn't a riff on ol' Patches the Hyena) is gearing up for her battle against The Last Giant

Meanwhile on PS2 it's Jade Cocoon 2 again. Still rolling through the forests, end getting a little closer

Probably see those two titles from me a lot over the coming weeks

Quite a few reviews I've seemed to read have listed the lower difficulty as a negative @HungryWolf .

The main part of the demo is easy enough (The menu for stats and the likes is a bit overwhelming at first though). Having the AI partner definitely helps compared the souls games.

The depths dungeons (smaller optional(?) areas) available after you beat the demo's main part are fairly difficult though (They are tagged in the demo as being for higher levelled characters, the one recommending you be lvl 40!).

In the full game you might get those optional dungeons at that level or higher though

Maybe I'm exceedingly crap at the Souls games and managed to get through them via sheer force of will but the con of Not always your skill level that leads to your demise happened to me quite a few times in those games too. Especially with the con being out of context of the review's reasoning 😅

Plus you can always not have a partner character with you and go for it on your own for a more traditional Souls like experience...

Still a good review though! Looking forward to getting it! Dragon's Dogma was one of my favourite games last gen and that got 6-8's so Code Vein's 7 seems pretty good to me

That's pretty awesome if true! Love helping people in the Dark Souls/Bloodborne for bosses and stuff, so if you can do that sorta thing in Death Stranding without Plus count me in for the Krazy Kojima Train!

Well I'd be surprised if I Write Sins Not Tragedies wasn't part of it... Ready To Go (Get Me Out My Mind) seems like it'd be a good fit too

I didn't actually recognise the theme at all til Kyle posted the original to be honest @Nickolaidas . Only played it a few years back but... III's, IV's & X's are more memorable to me 😅

Hopefully Aeirth's theme and One Winged Angel haven't been altered at all from the orchestral versions they did though as they are beautiful!

I played about an hour of the first and thought it was a bit eh. Shame this doesn't seem to have been that big of an improvement. Not sure I like the sound of the combat and regen system to be honest either.

Not to mention there's another souls like that's out in a few days too that's really caught my attention...

I'm more suprised at Gears 5 being fourth on it's second (?) week then Zelda being top.

I'd assumed most people would've got game pass for a £/$1 for the month just to play it before ditching it. Good on Microsoft for an actual competent exclusive!

I wanna get Code Vein for free too... But I sure as hell ain't paying ten times the price just to fly over there and attend that con to get it 😂

Might start Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen on PS4 again or maybe bust open my Odin Sphere Leifthrasir (Storybook Edition too for £30) for PS4. Ive already played the PS2 and PS3 versions but... I love that fudging game lol

I have Klonoa 2 for ps2. Snagged it a few years back for a tenner... Would happily get this in a heartbeat!

Just it ain't a Klonoa game to me if the ending don't make ya bawl your eyes out, even with the Phantomilian (gobbledegook) voice acting! 😂

Well it was a bit watered down @AdamNovice compared to Devil May Cry (It was made by Capcom though) but there was the whole hack and slash, dodging and building up combo's gameplay like them... Oogie's Revenge was apparently based on a sequel script

There was also four versions of the Oogie song (aka best song)

Though (to get us back on track and topic) Sir Dan is best Skelly boy... October can't come soon enough

... I quite liked that Nightmare Before Christmas game @AdamNovice ! Was pretty decent with the Devil may cry-ish gameplay and the redone music wasn't half bad either 😅

They've said from the beginning it's the same as the original game just made from the ground up with a few quality of life adjustments... Same as the Crash and Spyro remaster/make trilogies.

I don't get why people are expecting any different? It wouldn't be the same game then...

Been a Sir Dan fan since Medievil came out all those years ago it's looking fantastic! Can't wait til October!

Not really fake outrage @KnightWolf . Moreso most of the gaming public doesn't give a flying fudge about them and they're far too ingrained now anyway.

Unfortunately for us more hardcore fans who are more vocal about such practices it isn't going to matter if you buy it used anyway.

They've already made their money tenfold and the whales they've caught'll make them more...

Getting back to playing Jade Cocoon 2 on PS2 after being side tracked by the Code Vein demo on PS4 the past week.

Playing Let It Die on PS4 occassionally too

... Yeah that doesn't sound like a classic turn based mode at all. Sounds more like a modified version of XIII's awful combat system

It's nice that it might help people with accessability issues but... yeah... not a "classic" option in the slightest.

The animation is really nice, unfortunately that's all I've got nice to say 😅

I actually didn't like the music In persona 5 all that much baring a few songs. My main issue being I'm just not fond of Jazz but I don't particularly like the vocals either.

This song is reaaallllllly rubbish though.

Almost as bad as Persona 4 Golden's opening track...

There actually is @Adome It's called Dark Chronicle in japan and Europe but in the US it was called Dark Cloud 2

On the topic at hand... I'd looooove a Dragon's Dogma 2 more then anything. I'd say it was my favourite game last gen if Dark Souls didn't come out!

Having never played a Yakuza (I know, I really need to but 6/7 of them is a touch daunting) I'm actually bit more interested in this, especially with the fresh start

Looks pretty good, shame about there not being Elora or Bianca... Plus looks like the datamine of Ripto and the Sorceress being in this was dumied out content or just to throw people off

That's pretty decent for a game of a card game that hasn't been relevant for over a decade and only on switch (Well that version at least) I'd laugh if that was somehow first next week :')

Well... to say I'm disappointed is a bit of understatment!

Really not one for the style of games like Beyond Two Souls or Detroit (Maybe because David Cage is not the greatest of storytellers) but Until Dawn really grabbed me for the pulpy tone it had so quite sad to hear that this isn't up to snuff!

Seeing as it's an anthology of different horror stories and tropes hopefully the next one will be much better 👍

I assume @Ralizah that they only refer to them as V which seems to be the name the protagonist has in this (Though the friend in it seems to have a nickname for you as well that you are referred as)

Of course the cynic in me says that "they" could be used for referring to V in the third person. That way they don't have bother with re-recording or coding in the other options!

I can understand people not agreeing with this descision (you're more then welcome to) but all the blatantly offensive remarks are disappointing & disheartening

Just make an all female or all male protagonist when the game releases and treat them as such if that's what you wanna do, no one will stop you.

I mean the game is more about blasting the crap outta people, cyber augmentations & and a Keanu Reeves ghost AI haunting you...

Plus it's in first person so you'll probably only see your character like ten or so times!

Is the music/soundtrack more prominent in the full game @Shogunrok? The demo seemed to be rather light on that (practicaly non exisitant in fact) and didn't use it to great effect either

On PS4 I'm going to be playing Resident Evil Revelations 2 which just arrived today in the post about 30 minutes after I'd finished the demo's/chapter 1 Raid mode content using Gina with a bit of Claire and Jill on the side

Having finished up Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu on PS1 I'm just booting up the sequel Jade Cocoon 2 on PS2! Been ages since I played this

... The Nonary Games/Zero Escape looks mighty tempting at $15 .

Resistance 3 was pretty decent from what I remember. Never played the previous two though. I wouldn't say no to a remaster collection

... Still no Ash Williams though! The only one I really cared about!

... Am I the only one who thought while the gamplay the was good, Ratchet & Clank 2016 was actually a step down in a lot of ways from the original?

Everyone always likes to wail on Ratchet in the original for being a bit of a butt... but I found his reluctance to heroism much more interesting then his characterisation of eternal goody goody two shoes and the galactic rangers were such a snore.

Not to mention Supreme Executive Chairman Drek was so much better voice acted in the original and a pretty good villain too!

I know there was the film going on at the same time with the 2016 version but it was a bit too childish with the dialogue.

Plus we lost a WHOLE bunch of interesting levels like the poisonous Blarg homeworld or the city that's in constant rainfall (Been way too long for me to remember the names)

Not to mention the loss of the suck cannon! Plus I liked that lightning claw weapon too...

... Quark was good though as he usually is
