Resident Evil Village was only officially announced a few hours ago and Capcom has already decided to share a few more interesting details on the PlayStation 5 project. As part of a developer message, producers Tsuyoshi Kanda and Pete Fabiano explain how the title is optimised for the next generation of consoles as it takes a more action-oriented approach.

Fabiano says: "We were able to take all that we learned from those titles along with our internal development efforts and optimize the latest version of the [RE] engine for the next generation of consoles." Kanda adds: "With the combined power of next-gen and RE Engine, we can take our developers' visions to new heights. Once again we're planning a fresh take on survival horror -- this time upping the ante on action a bit."

The twosome then go on to explain that Resident Evil Village will feature realistic graphics, immersive audio, and will not dabble in load times. The eighth instalment is set a few years after Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and brings back protagonist Ethan Winters, but do you like what you've seen of the game so far?
