Re: Backbone One: PlayStation Edition Finally Gets Android Version, and It's Available Now

GarySan

@NoCode23 It's because of licensing. All of these attach-on designs are required to pay a sum to license from a company which I regard as Patent Trolls named Game Vice. The same applies with the 'Elite' controllers with extra paddles or buttons on the back, where one of the reasons why they cost so much is because the company SCUF patented the back-paddle/button design so everyone who wants to create one needs to pay a hefty licensing fee.

Re: Not Everyone's Impressed with PS5's New DualSense Edge Pad

GarySan

I think only 2 buttons at the rear when other pro controllers have 4 is a fair criticism. And honestly, I wish rather than simple remaps these extra buttons can also serve as extra inputs and be called R4 L4. All connsole games should give the players the option to rebind their keys.

Re: PS Plus, PS Now Members Frustrated by Duplicate PS4 Games

GarySan

If Sony are going to be cheap skates then they might as well merge PLUS and NOW together. It would have the added benefit of less naming confusion for the general public too. Just look at Microsoft and their Xbox names: Game Pass, Games with Gold, Xbox Live, Xbox Series X, Series S, One S, One X etc. It's downright ridiculous and super confusing, especially for people who are just casual gamers. Less names the better, and PS Plus by now is known to everyone, so I'm all for Sony ditching PS NOW and merging into it. They can put the NOW library into the current PS collection. And what's more? Xbox Live Gold these days have all but gone to sh*t because of Game Pass. It'd be wise for Sony to continue buffing the value to PS Plus to counter MS where it hurts.

Re: A Bunch More PS5 Box Art Has Emerged

GarySan

Looks great. Don't understand the complaint. Black and white plays well with almost any colour, and blue not only is trademark to PlayStation but also it's the most popular colour in the world.

Re: Marvel's Avengers Rubs Salt in the Wound with Spider-Man Sticker on PS4 Box

GarySan

I think because of the Marvel movie franchise since Disney took over, combined with recent Batman Arkham and Spider-Man game, people are becoming spoiled and forgetting that 90% of super hero games have always been low quality money cash grabs. This Crystal Dynamics Marvel Avengers game is no different - made purely to ride on the hype train of the successful Marvel movie franchise, striking while the iron is hot. It clearly lacks any sort of depth, made only to appeal to general mass audience of all ages.

Re: The Medium, Scorn to Skip PS5 for Now

GarySan

Tbh I've been following Scorn for quite some time. Am huge fan of Beksinkski and Giger, so I'm pretty salty to learn that it is ending up being exclusive to the Xbox. Hopefully the exclusivity is timed.

Re: Granblue Fantasy Versus Sales Are Off to a Good Start in Japan and Asia

GarySan

Not surprised. Granblue is absolute massive in Asia. But what I like about it the most is the artwork and character designs by Hideo Minaba. It's remarkable. The small roster is unfortunate though... there supposed to be tons of character in Granblue, indicating there's going to be a whole lot of paid character DLC upcoming for this. Pretty blatant Money sucking business strategy if you ask me.

Re: Ridiculous Rumour Claims Sony Is About to Buy Bethesda Parent Company ZeniMax and All Its Studios

GarySan

Lol the PC Master race would go absolute bonkers and revolt if this is true. But this would make an extremely interesting purchase I must say, as western focused FPS shooters and RPGs such as Skyrim is what's lacking when it comes to PlayStation's first party line up. Since MS have Obsidian and Inxile, I wouldn't mind Sony looking into something like Larian Studio as well.

Re: Soapbox: Sony Should Celebrate Insomniac's Acquisition with Resistance Remasters

GarySan

I've never played any of the Resistances, but just by going through the internet, reading the comments and reviews, the reception of the series seems to be pretty up and down. People's opinion swayed from either hating it or loving it. Were those games really that good? I ask also because like Killzone, it never seemed to have reached the status of the likes of Gears of War and Halo on Xbox as widely celebrated, staple FPS shooters.

Re: Insiders Claim That Next Xbox Is More Advanced Than PS5

GarySan

I don't care what power they bring. MS makes poor quality console hardware = FACT. Xbox controllers screams cheap thin plastic, echoes with every button presses and squeakiness of springs with every turn of the analogue stick. The Elite controllers are even worse, for 200US they are extremely prone to breaking. Seriously and people question why Xbox can't sell well outside of the US, because besides the lack of damn games, people from Europe and Asia actually recognize quality craftsmanship when they see one.

Re: Shocker: Royal Family Out of Touch as Prince Harry Says Fortnite Should Be Banned

GarySan

I'm just going to judge Harry on this comment alone, but I actually sorta agree with him. I liked what China did with their change in gaming regulation recently - restrict video game time of kids under 12 to just an hour a day from 8:00am to 9:00pm, and 2 hours a day if you're 13-18. It would be difficult however for the West to implement such a system, as China relies on police database and facial recognition.

Re: Soapbox: Sony's Done an Outstanding Job with PSVR

GarySan

@ResidentEvil2 Were you just too scared? Because the VR implementation was exceptional. If not I imagine your complaint is either that of the usual poor resolution, small FOV, ergonomics, too much wires, poor control methods, inaccurate tracking, form factor etc. which are obvious flaws which can be fixed in the near future as technology and hardware continue to advance. Potential of VR is undeniable.
