PlayStation is, first and foremost, about the games, but we'd be lying if we said we didn't make use of the multimedia apps on PS4 too. With services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer, and loads more ready and waiting on your console, it's easy to get your movie streaming fix all from one device. By the sound of it, you'll be able to binge on all the superhero movies and animated classics you can handle, because Disney+ is coming to consoles.

Disney+, if you haven't heard, is The Walt Disney Company's on-demand streaming service, and it's been confirmed for launch on 12th November 2019 in the US, with other countries to follow. In a statement released yesterday, the media giant says the service will be available on "connected TV and mobile devices," including "game consoles" as well as smart TVs and, well, pretty much anything that can get online. It's almost certainly going to be on PS4.

In addition to the expected Disney movies, you'll have access to Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic films and shows, as well as content from the freshly acquired 20th Century Fox. This will include all seasons of The Simpsons, hundreds of movies, and other programming. Throw in a bunch of original creations and it all sounds very robust.

Will you be subscribing to Disney+ on PS4? Are you excited for its arrival, or will it just be another app to ignore? Step in time in the comments below.
