I have next to no interest in VR and prices like these make sure it stays that way. I can’t even think of 1 VR game I’d consider dropping that kind of money for.
I loved the first game. It looked marvellous on the switch. I just hope this isn’t ‘too’ similar to the first. The scholar and Merchant were both in the first game so are they the same but with different stories? Also while the first was great it was very lacklustre when it came to explaining why you’re team were travelling around together. It was a little weird.
I loved this game, even with its dodgy performance, it’s stunning to look at and I really enjoyed the exploration. If performance has been fixed (I have no idea) this is a little gem.
Great game I’m currently playing through it. Can’t blame them releasing a sort of game of the year addition. I don’t see the problem with them releasing it on PlayStation to ‘make a few more bucks’, Sony do that enough with their franchises and their own fans and they love it 🤣
All the talk about the PS5 before it released, ‘we believe in generations and the SSD is so fast it’ll change the way games are designed. I’m not seeing it. I’m seeing cross gen games, remakes/remasters and the same game design that we’ve seen for the last 10+ years.
Like others have said it feels like this gen hasn’t started properly yet, that’s across all next gen consoles.
It’s depressing but the demand is obviously there. This will be another hard pass from me if the rumour is true. The state of triple A gaming is at an all time low, everything is a remake/remaster or sequels which barely differ from other games in a series.
Give me a Stray or Scorn to play any day over the tripe big studios are pumping out.
I played it on Gamepass. Looks great and wasn’t what I was expecting, kind of like Zelda mixed with a souls game. Loved the way you collect the manual it was a smart idea. I didn’t stick with it though, I had enough after a few hours but I can see why others may love it.
@StylesT it’ll be funny when Sony eventually buy Square Enix and make everything exclusive. That’ll be okay according to the same people complaining about this 🤣
@Royalblues people who tell you to find a new hobby are so funny if you can’t afford gaming. Who says you even have to find a new hobby? What you were saying was people will look at the lower price point of the competition and buy just off of that alone, that will happen for a fact now. You now have a more expensive console with more expensive games when the competition offers a cheaper option with an affordable alternative like Gamepass. MS is kind of irrelevant in all this, they don’t have to do anything right now, Sony are making themselves look the worst.
It’s not a case of just ‘find another hobby’. People don’t need to.
@UltimateOtaku91 I feel so sorry for Sony only making $4 billion when they could be making 6. This price increase is absolutely justified you’re right.
This is insane, especially when compared to the competition. Xbox should absolutely capitalise on this.
Sony continue to be a disgrace this gen, it’s almost as if those of us criticising Sony since the beginning of this gen with price increases and upgrade costs have been right all along.
Really enjoyed The Surge and I loved The Surge 2, its one of my favourite ‘souls likes’. Disappointed they didn’t stick with that formula, this looks like garbage to me.
Embracer are massive at this point, more consolidation is not great but that’s the direction gaming is going and there’s nothing we can do to stop it. Chinese state run Tencent I have the biggest issue with so at least it’s not them this time.
@IAmAshCohen17 as long as games remain multi-platform or Sony buy them he’s okay with it.
"Considering that exclusivity strategies have been at the core of Sony's strategy to strengthen its presence in the games industry, and that Sony is a leader in the distribution of digital games, Sony's concern with possible exclusivity of Activision's content is incoherent, to say the least."
MS are not wrong, what they are saying is a fact and I can even understand Sony opposing the deal from a business standpoint but it’s also kind of laughable after Sony has been aggressively buying exclusivity and studios since before Xbox was even a thing. Now they’re facing stiffer competition they’re flapping it.
I can’t blame any developer for jumping on this and trying to make some money from ‘trophy hunters’.
I’d say this highlights a bigger problem within the gaming community, the obsession with Achievements/Trophies. Like anything trophies can be fun to try and obtain but I also think it can be a really unhealthy trap to fall into. Anyone buying games like this I’d argue has fell into an unhealthy obsession.
I’m sure Sony could do more to moderate their storefront but don’t think they will while they’re making good money but maybe here the problem isn’t the game but gamers themselves.
The problem isn’t the remaster itself, although it is stupid and a cash grab, it’s the price point at £70.
You can all spend your money on what you want but if you buy this at full price you’re part of the problem. Imagine if Microsoft ‘remastered’ Gears Ultimate Edition and charged £70. They’d be the worlds worst.
@Royalblues it would only be temporary if sales took a huge hit like I said, I think you’d see a huge amount of backlash on social media (ew) and online but just like the £70/$70 price tag I think they’ll ignore it and see how it sells. If the masses continue to buy there’s no way it would ever come back down, just like anything else like TV’s or phones. Prices never come back down. Xbox wouldn’t even have to slash their console prices they’d have an instant advantage unless they followed suit of course. Sony are charging £70 for a remaster of a remaster despite some pushback online.
It would be insanity for Sony to increase their consoles price but you don’t know with Sony anymore, they don’t care.
@Royalblues if it happens, there’s no way it’s temporary, unless sales actually take a massive hit. I wouldn’t be surprised if they try it, the majority of people have seemingly bought into £70 games without question.

I’ll keep my eye on this one.

Re: Rocksteady Co-Founders Depart, But Suicide Squad 'Nearly Finished'
Good luck to them both. The Arkham games are some of my favourites in recent memory. Exceptional games.

@Martsmall only this community can moan about getting free upgrades.

£210 holy poo. There’s a market for this I sure as ain’t it.
Re: Microsoft Says PS5, PS4 Would Still Be Bigger if Every Call of Duty Player Switched to Xbox
Sony actually made this complaint to the CMA:
“According to SIE, gamers may expect that CoD on Xbox will include extra content“
While having a contract they paid millions of dollars for which gives them the same thing 🤣
Re: Saints Row Dev Commited 'Long-Term', First Big Update Has 'Over 200' Improvements
Maybe they shouldn’t have released an absolute turd of a game in every aspect in the first place.
Re: Hardcore PlayStation Fans Seem Dead Against a Horizon Zero Dawn Remake or Remaster
I think they should release it and carry on milking their player base.
Re: CD Projekt Red to Test Games on All Platforms Equally Going Forward, Not Just on PC
Can’t believe this wasn’t a thing anyway, no wonder Cyberpunk on consoles was an absolute ***** show.
Re: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's Enhanced PS5 Version Drops in January, Is a Free Upgrade
I played it on PS4 and really enjoyed it. Won’t double dip but a free upgrade is great. This is how it should be instead of Sony and their greed.

Good game but I didn’t enjoy it enough to even consider playing again with shinier graphics. So no.

Re: Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Won't Have Difficulty Options, Producer Says Its 'Not an Easy Game"
If that’s how the developers intend their game to be then fair enough, absolutely no problem with any game like this.
Re: Stroke the Dog, Cat, and Hamster 2,000 Times for 71 PS5, PS4 Trophies
Say what you want it’s genius. There’s a market of trophy hunters out there that must be playing these games. 🤣

I’m waiting for Stray on disc and I’ll pick Steelrising up on the other console.

Re: Microsoft, Sony Signed Agreement to Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for 'Several More Years' Beyond Current Contract
@SerJosh97 ‘square Enix ips are literally Sony tho, final fantasy and dragon quest’
Yes because those games have never been on Nintendo consoles or handhelds and games like Triangle Strategy and Octopath Traveler don’t exist.
