The Last of Us Part I - September 2nd
A game that needs no introduction – although, yes, this is basically an introduction – is The Last of Us Part I, a remake of Naughty Dog's genre-defining epic that's out right now!
Everyone and their HD giraffe has their opinion on this one, and we've now shared our full review if you want to learn more. If you're already sold on this remake of Joel and Ellie's unforgettable adventure, however, you can order a copy below. More purchase options are available here.
Stray (Physical Edition) - September 20th
The digital edition may already be available both on the PS Store and as part of your PS Plus subscription, but anyone wanting to pick up a physical copy of Stray can do so on September 20th.
Ever wanted to wander around cyberpunk towns and explore a gritty world as an adorable kitty? Well, now you can. More pre-order options are available here.
FIFA 23 - September 30th
And on the 30th, EA is launching its latest footie sim, and the last from the studio to bear the FIFA name.
FIFA 23 is said to be the “most ambitious” FIFA game ever, with more crossplay possibilities, new HyperMotion 2 tech, the introduction of women's club football and more elevating the game to new heights. Pre-orders are available below if you're ready for kick off, including the alternate cover Sam Kerr edition which is exclusive to Amazon UK. More pre-order options are available here.
Gotham Knights - October 21st
On 21st October, Warner Bros. launches Gotham Knights, an open-world action RPG set in "the most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet".
You can play in either solo-play or with one other hero as you patrol Gotham’s five distinct boroughs and drop in on criminal activity wherever you find it. Pre-orders are live ahead of launch:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - October 28th
The next Call of Duty firing its way onto a PlayStation near you is Modern Warfare 2, a sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare.
The game is said to boast a rebuilt, advanced AI system, enhanced rendering and photogrammetry tech, a new Gunsmith system allowing for more customisation, and plenty more including new weapons, vehicles, and equipment to take on your deadly enemies. Infinity Ward calls it "the most advanced Call of Duty in history," which is quite the statement.

Post Void - September 29th
Asterigos: Curse of the Stars - October 11th
The only games I’m interested in, and when I say interested I mean barely, is The DioField Chronicle and Gotham Knights. I’ll be waiting for reviews for both of those games.
September kicks off my crazy list
9-8 SteelRising (PC/Steamdeck)
9-22 The DioField Chronicle (PC/SteamDeck)
9-27 Trails from Zero (PC/Steamdeck)
9-29 Valkyrie Elysium (PS5)
10-11 NMH3 (PS5)
10-18 Plague Tale (PS5)
10-21 Gotham Nkights (PS5)
10-27 Star Ocean (PC/Steamdeck)
10-28 BAYO3 (Switch)
No way I can play them all before GOW. My backlog are going to explode.
Stray physical for me and Star Ocean.
@LazyLombax I'm keen to see the review of "Asterigos: Curse of the Stars" because if it's good, it could be a day one purchase on October 11th!
From what I've seen of it, it looks like a proper action RPG and not another bloody Souls-a-like clone which is refreshing!
Got Ghostbusters preordered and I don’t care if it’s good. My soon to be five year old son loves, loves Ghostbusters to the point where it’s his absolute favorite anything, so it’ll be fun to share with him anyway. Also, I’ll definitely be playing and trying Overwatch 2. I’ve got some friends that really, really want me to get MW2, but I just don’t have the interest in it and haven’t had much interest in CoD since I got back in for BLOPs4 and MW1, basically.
Looking forward to the Diofield and Valkyrie reviews though (and I suppose Star Ocean, even if the series is a very thoroughly mixed bag in my eyes). I’ll probably play Plague Tale on Xbox since it’s on Gamepass, but I don’t know how eager I am with it. I liked the first game, but it’s one of those titles that I feel like was just a good game that was a bit overly praised by a fair number of people I know because it was passed by with the mainstream press.
October is realistically all about that Village DLC for me though. Can’t wait for that! September is another bonafide Switch month as well. Splatoon 3 and Haiku the Robot will be in my hands by the end of the week.
One of my choice.

I mean why not ?
Nothing wrong to play girlie games on PS5.
What are the football men sitting on in the thumbnail
@Anti-Matter finally a game that will push the PS5 hardware to it's absolute limit. Expecting to hear stories about broken PS5's cos of this game.
I’m waiting for Stray on disc and I’ll pick Steelrising up on the other console.
@Anti-Matter I wish I could unsee that.
Also, I'm waiting for this game too.

love how all the heavy hitters always comes out in the busiest months but summer time it’s a ***** drought and we get things like cat simulator
I'll be buying A Plague Tale: Requiem (PS5) and Gotham Knights (PS5).
Sadly everything else I'll have to wait for deep discounts in a few years.
