Re: No Free PS4 to PS5 Upgrade Path for Persona 5 Royal

Fenbops

Man that’s rubbish. I own a copy of Royal so there’s no way I’ll pick this up, I’ll just stick to the PS4 version I guess.

Everytime this sort of thing happens I think back to games like Metro Exodus and Gears 5 that gave us significant upgrades for absolutely free. That should be the standard.

Re: Poll: Is The Last of Us: Part 1 Really a 'Cash Grab'?

Fenbops

@Gelly you’re right it’s not my job but I can have an opinion and my opinion is that this is a cash grab. I can form that opinion on other factors such as remasters we’ve had before and their price, or games that have had next gen upgrades for free, imagine that, they mustn’t do any work according to your logic. I don’t need to know the ins and out of game development.

Also I will probably complain about something else next week thanks, maybe even sooner than that, we’ll see.

Re: Gaming Spend Will Continue to Decline in US as Living Costs Increase, Says NPD Report

Fenbops

Can’t believe people still defend the price increases around here, really sad. I said something similar to this report when Sony announced their price increase, that was during covid when people were losing their jobs, it’s gotten even worse since then. With the price of living sky rocketing people are gonna have less money for games.

@GreatAuk smart guy in regards to communism. Nice to see some sense on here.

Re: 'Multiple Sources' Said Sony Is Buying Square Enix, Allegedly

@Gbarsotini I don’t like the market consolidation we are seeing from anyone but it’s happening and there’s very little we can do about it. I still maintain I’d rather see devs bought up by MS, Sony or Nintendo rather than some of the other entities out there like Tencent and Google. It’s not a great situation and i don’t see the point in choosing a side, they’re all as bad as each other.

Re: 'Multiple Sources' Said Sony Is Buying Square Enix, Allegedly

@NEStalgia all excellent points as usual. Sony has lost the Japanese market and they know it. They’re a Californian tech firm now completely westernised in nearly every aspect from the games their first party studios make to their virtue signalling politicking. Any Dev they buy instantly falls under the same banner and it won’t take me to tell you that will not win back the Japanese market.

Also I have to laugh at the double standard of some. It’s fine for Sony to buy studios like SE, celebrate and make games exclusive but oh god when MS do the same it’s the worst thing to happen in gaming ever. Hypocrites.

I don’t care who buys who but the double standard of some is embarrassing.

Re: Microsoft Bigwig Implies PS5 Is Losing Marketshare to Xbox

Fenbops

I think it’s good to see. Sony for too long have been the arrogant market leader, some of their decisions have been horrible. We need a strong Xbox as it’ll lead to us as consumers benefitting more. Stock issues definitely play into this but people are still going out and buying the Xbox when money is tighter than ever so the demand is there and it’s not going badly for a console with ‘no games’ 😜

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives May Get Worse if Free with PS Plus Day One

Fenbops

@Floki this is a good point especially with 343 as an example. I think the lack of regular quality first party exclusives from MS is down to mismanagement of their studios rather than Gamepass. They struggled massively during the Xbox One lifespan and that was before Gamepass was even a thing. They have The Coalition who are quality and Turn 10 but they’ve really struggled elsewhere.

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives May Get Worse if Free with PS Plus Day One

Fenbops

It’s not entirely true, there’s been some great MS exclusives since I’ve had Gamepass. FH5 and Halo the end of last year. Plus they have Gears 5/Tactics and some other decent last gen titles too. The line that Xbox doesn’t have any games has gotten old.

My issue I’ve noticed is that those same games are also riddled with ***** microtransactions, which Sony to give them credit, have stayed away from in their mainline games. Well until recently with GT7 where they are now putting them into £70 games, not a trend that I hope continues but with a big push for ‘live service’ games on PlayStation I think it’ll start happening more often than not.

Re: Gran Turismo 7's New Approach to Microtransactions Isn't Going Down Well

Fenbops

Forza Horizon 5 has sh*tty monetisation and now GT7. Difference is I can play one on Gamepass for a small sub and the other they want £70. That doesn’t make it any better in FH5 but the narrative of Sony first party games having no microtransactions because they ain’t on a Gamepass type service is slowly fading away and will continue to do so.

Even if you don’t buy into these you’re ignorant if you think it doesn’t affect your game, intentionally longer grinds are what every gamer dreams of 😂😂 Sony simps gonna simp.
